Hi all
long term club member here, that was a really helpful review.
I have one and about to get new in May. last car a caravelle 180 dsg died due to usual oil issues at 50 k avoid.
went for this as it has a good price (my 170 engined 8 seater titanium x with factory extras of towbar and roof bars is only £36K)
aircon in rear has specific compressor so is really effective and there are vents at floor too so it cools well.
auto can only tow 1100 kg so manual is best for vans , (2100 tow) . 170 is arguably better for towing (has same torque total at 405nm) but is better mid range ie on hills!
only gripes no footrest for clutch side and passenger front has a less footroom than expected but will only affect 6ft plus users.
I have now had santa fe - ok but flimsy
Discovery ---1/2/3 and 4. thirsty and appalling out of warranty
VW caravelle - really really not worth the money as noisy thrashy over bumps and frankly has a engine designed to die or drink oil at 50K plus (biturbo 180s - google it!)
and now two tourneo - no issues thus far can't wait for new one (SWB)

What I find odd is that the caravan club are saying how good this Ford Tourneo is for towing caravans,yet several caravan manufacturers say they should not be towed by a commercial vehicle,something to do with the suspension set-up can cause problems with the caravan chassis.

I have a 2019 plate taxi .as the review says nice looking .mines done 90 thousand ish miles been off the road more times than I've drove it with adblue problems,ok if you've got another vehicle but if you using it for work forget it cause once that adblue light comes on its gon cost you big time .

seats are not cheap, you cant find a complicated and fully removable seats even on rolls royce
go check vw for uncomfortable seats

these are base model seats, the mid and higher don't have the three across seats and do have leather. personally my VW t5 2014 40k was unreliable drank oil and seats while on runners were a nightmare to move and offered less flexibility. i see what you mean but even these seats for me were pretty good with a full range of adjustments. mine a titanium x has electric and leather. just a matter of time before vw lose their grip i have three friends who have changed to ford on various reasons, give it a go have a drive. its quieter, as quick and bigger. better flex too.
