  • About Me: Hi! My name is Crane. I grow cut flowers in my suburban cottage home garden in a naturalistic style in New Jersey Zone 7. I make garden bouquets and sell at the roadside stand in front of my house. I also grow all kinds of vegetables and, sometimes, cook. I grow ornamental landscape plants and trees as well as create sanctuary for wildlife, birds, insects, etc. Thank very much for visiting my channel. Any question, please let me know in the comment.

    I absolutely feel the same way you do ...... depressed in the Winter months and crazy busy in the Gardening months. I think being in so much darkness instead of the warm sunshine during the Winter also adds to the depression. Now, if I had a greenhouse like you ..... hmmmmmm.....maybe I would spend more time out in the Winter ...... or maybe not! ha ha!

    I actually purchased over 300 alliums last month because our Canadian company Veseys had a really good deal on their fall bulbs. Buy $250.00 and get $100.00 off! Veseys emailed me that my order should be in this week, I am so excited! They have this periwinkle blue drumstick allium that should look fabulous in my cut flowers next year! Love your videos! Cheers from Alberta, Canada!

      Oooh, that's exciting. I bought drumsticks from Vesey last year. They're my new favourite in my Vancouver BC garden. You'll be blown away by how many pollinators they attract. They became a bit top heavy though and flopped as they matured. I would plant them among plants that will support them or provide some other support.

      This is awesome! I love them. My alliums will bloom very other years. It’s a great long term investment 😊🥰❤️

    Your Dhalias are BEAUTIFUL Crane. I have never grown them, I always thought they were so complicated. Since watching and learning from you, I have many in my mailbox.
    This is the 1st year I am sad to see Fall arrive. I have had such a passion that I didn't realize how much I needed. Gardening has given me purpose and I know I've said this before but you and your videos have truly lit that spark and I am SO grateful 🙏
    Sending you both so much peace, ❤ and joy for the Sleepy season 😊

    Hi Crane and Jason! Always glad to see a new video uploaded. There's a time for everything indeed so it helps our well-being to embrace the gift of the present, enjoy the moment, make the most of each season. Crane, what is the pink dahlia in your bouquet at 3:37? So lovely!

    Thanks for the weed seed grow/remover tool tip. I hate weeding and it shows... I don't think of October (or any month) as spooky. Halloween doesn't really exist for me right now in my life season and more rural location. I think of October as birthday month (at the beginning), lovely cooler weather month, and the month to enjoy the leaves at peak color (the last week). Oh, and the month I can stop mowing the lawn 😂

    Thank you so much for this wonderful video!!! I have to be honest: Even from Denmark I'm ordering from Johnny's, I love their seeds! Especially the organic and open polinated varieties! To be honest I don't understand why everyone is so keen on the possibility that seeds from floret can be saved, because thats what you always were able to do with the open polinated ones from Johnny's. Or did I get it wrong somehow? And I think both have wonderful flower seeds, its just about the hype, I don't understand. But: I'm so happy that Feen is making such huge progress!!! Maybe this year he can spend winternights in your home without freezing, that would be so great and cozy!!! I wish you a great october and I'll try to enjoy it also, as good as I can with all those short days and rain and cold and wind and ... ah, lets forget about that ... ;)) Greetings from Denmark! 🤗🌻🎃

    Hello Crane, your office friends are so lucky🍀 I love how your vase fits perfectly in the car cupholder :) 🌺I have a question, why do you plant seedlings in Oct. Wouldn't they die when the first frost hits, which is very soon?🍁

    • @cranerygardens
      @cranerygardens  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi! Thank you 😊 They are short-lived perennials. They will grow little bit and die back in winter and bloom strong early summer next year.

    I got a free shipping code from Johnny's one weekend, it was a Sunday night when i tried to place the order, website wouldn't take the code. I called them first thing Monday morning and told them the situation and they did not honor the offered special. Will never ever buy from them again.
