I have bought this camera and I really like it. A question I’d like to know is how long can you film with this camera continuously before it runs out of battery? 🤗
Great video - have you got a video on all the settings as I have the Legria HF806 and want to video a tennis match what is the best settings MP4 and would love a video on all the best settings for a tennis match - I don't want to have slow motion shots please let me know
Hi! Thank you! For sports I think the best setting on this specific camera will be the sport in scene mode. Because in this mode, the camera will give you a higher shutter speed. I also would have it in MP4 and 60Fps. This will result in less of motion blur. This is what you usually want for sports or fast moving objects. So in tennis, it's allows you to see the ball and racket better, then if you have a lover shutter speed. Whit these settings i believe you will get the best out of this camera, for the scene you will record. The best is to test this out before you record the event, so you know what you get. I maybe do another video on this camera in the future. Hope this answer helped!
@@AverageFilmmaker would love you to do a video on all the settings especially discussing the various aspects - Audio Scene will you keep it on standard and exposure and zoom speed (VAR) and what is NFC do I turn that on or off - thanks for your help - where do i find the FPS on my settings
@@elodiemisdorp3005 Under record settings you can change record mode. The fps = "frams per secound" You can change it on some of the qualitys. If you press on the ( i ). You can see if the fps is changebul. Then VAR I belive is the speed of the zoom. VAR = The speed changes, depending on how muts you press on the zoom weel.
Hi, nice video! I'm looking to buy one for making videos for my students & most of the shooting will be in my office. Is this a good camcorder for the job?
I just got this camera at clearence price, under half$ and googled which brought me here. Just charging the battery now so came for a visual overview and some tips
Good Review, I have been using the 706 model for the last couple of years and very happy with this camera, very simple to use which is what I need ! One problem that appears to happen with a screen type camera is that it is difficult to view what you are actually filming in bright sunlight, not sure if that is something to just live with or there is a solution ?
Hi, thank you! On the R806 you can change the brightnes for the screen and that makes a bigg diffrens. But I am not soure about the R706. Have you tried to look around in the settings?
Hi! Really informative video, thank you. I also see how helpful you are in comments and wondered if you perhaps had any advice! I'm looking for equipment to record an indoor wrestling event with a budget of around £250 for each camera. I'd be looking to pick up 2. Would I be able to find a better camera than this? Thank you
Good video. The big 2 problems i see with the image, and I saw a ton of videos of this model, are the sharpness and the short of steps from blacks to whites. It seems to me that theres almost no greys at all. Do you notice this?. If its true, is there a way around these in color grading?. Thanx.
Yes I agree! The sharpness gets better if the subject you want to have in focus, have more light than the surrounding. Outside I think it works good any way, because there is plenty of light. You can also bump the sharpness in post. I have also noticed that the mid tones is more on the dark side. It's because of the lake in dynamic range. I usually bump that part up in post-produktion. But you can only push it in right direction. Mabye I will do a video on what I do in post whit my footage from this camera.
I was planning on buying this camera until I saw that it doesn't include a pause function. :( Do you know any cameras similar to these where you can pause the recording? Thank you!

@Gary The Snail What i can see, is that the images sensor is smaller on the Panasonic and will probably give less quality. But you get more options in the camera.
