It is our fault as women to accept less that we deserve, to allow bad treatment in the name of love or because we don't want to be alone. If we give ourselves and give the best romantically that is we must get and if we don't have that better to broke the relationship.
Easier said than done based on the society and culture. If only half the population (women) feel they deserve to be treated like human beings and not second class it’s still a hard battle when the other half of the population benefits from the mistreatment and women being second class. A lot of brainwashing goes on especially to the women and has been, and sadly continues in many places. In times where women had few options that made them relatively safe they had to pick what was best for their survival. Men were often seen as the protectors but rarely protected women from other men when it came to how society treated women because when someone stands in a position of privilege they are ignorant or willfully ignorant of the trials of those not privileged. The better people are those who learn and seek the change.
@@itazuranakisu Usually I'm not a woman that follows society and culture if the beliefs don't go according to my views that basically are based on human values such as respect, fairness, equality, freedom, etc. I have tried but the end has not been good. This is good when you get a good partner and experience normal disagreement. But when you live with someone that mistreats you emotionally, mentally, physically, and even rape you following that belief is WRONG. So, that that shitty thinking that we as women have to bear whatever in the name of love we need to discard that. That sucks. So, yes, women have been brainwashed, they are considered in a lot of countries second-class citizens, and a lot of them don't have access to education, which is sad. Precisely, is education that makes things different. It is not easy but can be done. History has proved when women join in one thinking and fight for their rights we get it. So, we as women are responsible for what we live. Nobody can't obligate us to do whatever we don't want to do, even if that means death. Still, even under the conditions women are in different kinds of places in the world what we choose or not choose to do is our responsibility. If we want to see changes we need to join as one. He's such a freaking bastard-ya DON'T treat people that way!!!
Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace was only my 2nd Chinese Historic Costume Drama. I’m truly hooked on CCDs & still consider this production a masterpiece in every aspect. I did some research regarding the accuracy of the incidents and while there are varying opinions I still say this was & is a riveting production. Zhou Xun is a brilliant actress & sets the bar extremely high in her craft. She’s just so very believable & relatable. Wallace Ho, I believe, also performed superbly.
I hope no one takes it the wrong way but I think that’s what would’ve been the perfect moment she passes out and dies and he be like omg face or shrugs it off and “regrets” it later at least she wouldn’t have to deal with his ass anymore
I absolutely hated the way he treated her, She was the only one who genuinely loved him with no hidden agenda, the other concubines told him this after their evil sins were exposed, his mother even told him this but he just treated her like dirt. He was a womaniser and a man who trusted no one until it was too late, worst of all when it’s so obviously exposed who carried out the multiple murders of all his children etc, he didn’t even once apologise to her. He was a narcissistic man. I’m glad she cut her hair, glad she separated herself from him. He loved his latter years full of regret.
Stop saying he loves her. Are you people crazy? Is this how you love? Lol He never loved her, not even for a single second. He only loves himself and doesn't care about other people's feelings. He managed to wear down all Ruyi's love for him. In the end she felt nothing. She said it before she died: she no longer loves him. I mean Ruyi...such a person...we all saw how much she can bear...even her got tired ! So how can you tell yourself he loves? 🤔
The best thing about a narrative is perspective. It's interesting to see the stark contrast between Ruyi and Yanxi Palace portrayals of all these characters. I prefer Charmaine Sheh's portrayal of the Empress over Zhou Xun's but I appreciate that she bought a more stoic portrayal.
All his servants and consorts only ever loved him as a king and so they were always plotting and scheming. Ruyi was the only person to love him as her husband and he treated her so poorly
I am addicted to this show I think I have one or two episodes left and I'm dragging it out I don't want it to end, well I guess I could watch it again. I always thought from day 1 people were lying on her and he believed it almost every time. I thought to myself when will he just punish the one starting the rumor, he should know her better than that.

I like how Yanxi portrayed Qianlong not how Qianlong is portrayed by Ruyi. He just seem like a sex maniac womanizer. Yanxi had a more put together Qianlong.
This is a more realistic view of how a chinese emperor would have been in my opinion, considering history itself regarding his treatment of his concubines.
He did not push her at all in this video. He swatted the tonic and she was startled and lost her balance. He seemed to try to catch her. If it was a tella novella she would have fallen down a whole flight of stairs and crashed into something too! Honestly if that had been me, I would have assumed the tonic was poison...
I agree. People see what they want to see. He did not hit her at all in this clip she lost her balance and he reached to save her. He was not a decent him but this time he did not attack her.
In this drama consort ling is the villain but in yanxi palace drama consort ling is the heroine.... It's kinda weird.... Historical fact says consort ling is the winner and whom emperor loved and buried beside him but ruyi's tomb was abondoned without care. But you know yanxi palace drama story heroine seems too fake.... I rather like ruyi's perspective... Writers really put in a lot of effort to put in a different outlook....

He doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself. He refuses to see Ruyi and he leaves his consort to deal with her anger even though it's partly his fault too. Then when he pushes her, he refuses to apologize for it and tells her to think about what she did wrong to "make him hurt her". Excuse me, what is that attitude?
This is one of the reasons why some women liked my Mother, who doesn’t like children but likes to get pregnant because during the pregnancy they get so much attention and being pampered, etc.
Were women seriously played against each other like toys in Imperial China for entertainment and political use of the Emperor or is it just dramatic exaggeration???. It's upsetting to see women constantly fighting just to gain affection attention and safety for themselves and their children 😭😭😭😭😭.
There is evidence that they did manipulate one another to gain the affection of the emperor and ensure their status, but not to this degree that is displayed on historical dramas.
I think this is the story of consorts everywhere. The idea of peaceful harems can't possibly be true especially if princes fought for the thrones. You have to remember the very real possibility of death that is tied to the throne. The constant fights for power means that the harem had to try everything to ensure their heirs would become King. How else could one survive? Some Kings killed almost all their family members.
I feel like such things actually played out. With this particular emperor and his court it’s hard to tell cause such little has been written about the day by day life of the concubines. I highly doubt under every emperor there was peace and tranquillity amongst the concubines

Consort ling was then made the in charge of the harem and she was posthumously honored as the empress, after her son the jiaqing emperor took the throne. Both dramas look at these characters from a fictional point and the contrast in them is quite good.
He can be so loving one minute and and abundantly cold the next minute.
Because it is all about him.
It is so funny and interesting l can see their life like a therapist a pro yet not my own. 🙃😆😅😂🤣😭
💜
Felt. I can give the best advice to other people and help them when they need it. But I brush off everyone when they say "take care of yourself!!!" I never tell anyone when Im messed up. I cant even tell myself "hey. You arent ok. Rest." had food poisoning, a migraine, two hours of sleep, and I juste finished crying in the shower. Bathed and took my dogs to the park, helped my mom clean her entire room and bathroom, washed clothes, then went to work and came back at 2am. Its to the point I start tearing up whenever anyone asks if Im ok. I can never say "i need help", "Im not okay", or just a simple "no". Reading this now, i think Ill go find a therapist.
💜
he never deserved her nor her love smh
The weak health of the man who outlived them all (almost anyway, I am not sure of all these ladies and maids in the scene) - it is pretty funny.
He’s so mean :( empress did nothing wrong, don’t bully her
He uses being drunk a lot as an excuse….I really detest him. I can never watch this too much because it actually gets me too angry, and I know it is just a show, but it pisses me off.
SAME! I'm not one for violence, but I can't even begin to count how many times I've wanted to slap some sense into that man. She deserved so much better than him.
I just love to watch the part where she cut her hair and the last episode - he got what he deserved.
@@yrafrench5880 Yes me to I'm glad she left his sorry ass enough was enough no matter how much love she had for him all she got in return was disrespect I'm glad she stood up to him
Wallace is excellent playing the part of emperor😁 I agree with you, the emperor was spoiled rotten. He didn't know how to treasure the love the others had for him.😥
This show is a great example of a thin line between love and hate.
Honestly he deserves to suffer alone they way he treated her and all she do was try her best to help him ugh he isn’t worth her time 😪
You know what the real villain in this movie was the emperor all this women loved him and he treated them all like crap hell hath no fury like a woman scorned he turned them all against each other they did the things the did for his love for his affection and he never gave them a backwards glance
I can't help want to beat the Emperor -I mean damn bastard not only is downright cruel to poor Ruyi, but he made her almost fall down stairs! Even if she wasn't pregnant, she wears a lot of decorations and platform shoes! She could have easily broken an ankle or even suffer a worse injury! He's such a freaking bastard-ya DON'T treat people that way!!!
This story was so heartbreaking. The emperor did not deserve her at all.
Her voice is like dark red velvety wine

This drama broke my heart. I loved Ruyi, the only one in the palace with a true and faithful heart.
Horrible king, 😣😖😫 he forgot she was the best woman for him.
I hate the emperor with a passion even if he was drunk that’s no way to treat your wife
Her voice is Soo innocent and pure. I love it
Loved this show, this started me watching all Chinese and Korean dramas.
Why their love had so much trouble He loved her but was to rude to know
Hello Sharon how are you doing?
Stop saying he loves her. Are you people crazy? Is this how you love? Lol
He never loved her, not even for a single second.
Hello Silvia how are you doing?

I find it so funny to compare the characters in Ruyi to Story of Yanxi Palace.
Everytime I watched this drama, I just want to hug real life Ruyi who got nothing but hate from her beloved one.All she give a just a pure love for her love of life. The more I hate him, the more U hate men. I wish people meet right person at right time.
Ruyi my favorite drama of all chinese dramas so far but this emperor enfuriated me all the time with his ignorance.
Now she pregnant keep it quite from that evil women and the others be to many would love to harm the royal Prince or princess
always makes me sad that she died due to TB :( those poor ladies where caged birds.
Unbelievable, Zhon Xun plays as Ruyi, adopted empress, was born in 1974. She looks so young.
This is one of the good days of Ruhy
I feel bad for that concubine. She really didn’t want to get in the middle of this.

I like how Yanxi portrayed Qianlong not how Qianlong is portrayed by Ruyi. He just seem like a sex maniac womanizer. Yanxi had a more put together Qianlong.
Even so he likes to kick people a lot.
@@amimeow indeed 😅
He never deserved Ruyi. Grrrr….can’t stand him!
I like the portrayal of Qianlong, Empress Fuca, and Noble Consort Ling in Yanxi Palace.
What if ruyi went in a coma there?
The Story of Yanxi palace at least the girl didn't get treated badly by the Emperor.
She cared too much for him
I still hate the Emporor. He did not deserve her, and Ruyi deserved so much more in her life.

see him doing stuff like this is the reason why he ends up the way he ends up
In this drama consort ling is the villain but in yanxi palace drama consort ling is the heroine....

What is the name of this movie?
So I see personal responsibility wasn't a thing then too😒.
8.30 Priceless! 😄
At the start of the drama he only had eyes for her and then he became psychotic
Being a harem woman, you dance the pick-me dance until the day you die.
Because of the last empress drugging her she never got pregnant before
So nice to see them happy
