Fans of Betrayal at House on the Hill, I do highly recommend picking up Betrayal at Baldur's Gate. Plays much nicer, the "haunts" are much more interesting and lots of cool new cards etc. Another super fun game I am grateful to have been invited too. :)
I would love to see a animation of a D&D monk in the middle of a horrible monster infestation leaving the party to do a rocky style training montage before coming back to help.
I just imagined mark and pyrions characters staring at each other really intensely before marks head explodes when they were having there little mind duel
Loved this! I'm a fan of both the game and the group. I would totally watch another game. Now that you understand things a bit more it should be a even better. A fifth or even sixth player could be cool, too.
Loves these videos as well as the main channel, love everyone apart of the yogscast, i get excited everyday to watch the next video Best channel on TH-cam :D
I think that was the first time in the game that a mental attack happened, they probably forgot. Pretty sure they explained that before they took the break for explaining the traitor rules too, so it was probably like 2+ hours since they'd heard that rule.
B-But they are youtubers. They're not allowed to make mistakes! Nah, just figured I'd make sure I remembered correctly, as it's been a while since I read the rules of the game and was uncertain if I've been playing it wrong this whole time xD
I thought they both used another stat to substitute for might, but I am probably wrong. And he shouldn't have been able to use the runes, as it said attacking, not defending.
@limehoney But as far as I remember, even if they both used different stats, both of them would have been mental, so it should have been mental damage.
Page 14 of the rulebook: "No matter how many penalties to movement you have on a turn, you can always move at least 1 space. This is also true if a monster rolls a 0 for movement (see “How Monsters Work,” page 15)."
I don't know if I missed it, but with asymmetrical games like this one it is useful to know both sides win conditions. I remember hearing the traitor's conditions, but not the other survivors.
@Mark: what the hell Mark, you wasted your first monster turn entirely. You could have attacked Pyrion with 2 monsters and try to produce 2 more vine blights with the other pairs, instead, you just moved one monster one space... it seems like you handed the game to the non-traitors on a silver platter ;P
Also not true. Some abilities or items let you attack with other traits (and they defend with the same trait), like pyrion being a sorcerer lets him use knowldge or sanity. Otherwise you always use might.
True, but I actually played this haunt yesterday as the traitor (and we're very particular about the rules), it mentions nothing of defending with any stat, they're just normal monsters.
It's really sad how much the Yogscast community has gone to shit. Last video's comment section was filled with hate for Pyrion. This one's filled with hate for Mark. Other videos it's Duncan, Sjin, Kim, etc. Even Simon, one of the founders hasn't escaped it. They should really just disable comments.
I think the Yogscast have always had idiots dissing single members now and again. They just take it on their stride, and sometimes even joke about it (I mean look at the Chilluminatiboiks), so it's okay. At least there's not terrible horrible stuff coming out, and the stuff that does come close to being bad, they do apologise for immediately. I'm sure there are exceptions to that (I don't follow the Yogventures story, so I won't comment on it), but it's the point, with a big family of mates that play together, you gotta not let the shit get to you.
Aditya Srinivasulu, I don't know. I've been following the Yogscast for years, and I don't ever remember it being this bad. I mean look at this comment from the last video: _"I want to punch Pyrion in the throat as an attempt to fix his voice, destroy his vape flask, and burn that hat"_ That's some serious aggression and a deeply personal attack. I feel uncomfortable just reading it, and it's not even directed at me. And the things is, I think it does get to them. I can't help but feel like toxic comments are a leading reason for both Simon's ongoing battle with depression and Kim leaving TH-cam. And lastly, even if they do laugh it off, that most certainly does not make it "okay."
Jason Schuler no, I never meant to say it's okay, but there's always going to be the naysayers to everything, let's be real. It's just that as the audience grows, there's a lot more naysayers now, and they're very vocal, because it's the latter half of the decade where your opinion and your entitlement to it became what mattered most, over actually enjoying something.
Traitor would of still been able to win that game when they ended it, He had 2 win conditions connecting 2 trees or killing all players, He could of still killed the other 3 with the vine blights
I think the win condition of the three was to remove the ability for any two branches to connect. The traitor's win condition isn't the only one out there. And even if I'm wrong what were the chances a three three mighters would have killed the heroes before they destroyed the last trunk?
^^^ (S)he is correct. The heroes reached their win condition, so the game ended. The win condition for killing all the heroes is really only there so that the traitor doesn't have to just tediously move blights around with no one to oppose them if they kill everyone else.
+Gal Anonim I think they did already on the game night channel. I remember watching it but I don't know if I told you the right channel. Hope this helps!

I fucking love Mark Hulmes
Feel like it's been ages since I saw Mark in a Games Night video. Would love to see more of him!
I would love to see a animation of a D&D monk in the middle of a horrible monster infestation leaving the party to do a rocky style training montage before coming back to help.
with a berserker axe
Great game, great group, would be nice to see another one.
I just imagined mark and pyrions characters staring at each other really intensely before marks head explodes when they were having there little mind duel
So, it´s "Betrayal at the house on the hill" with some rule fixing and twitching in a DnD setting? I love it!!
This was awesome, poor mark but at least we got a board game with mark and Ben I’ve been waiting for that game master showdown
You need to get Pyrion in on some more DnD style vids
I hope they do more of this
Loved this! I'm a fan of both the game and the group. I would totally watch another game. Now that you understand things a bit more it should be a even better. A fifth or even sixth player could be cool, too.
"Yeah but you've got to go through the fountain of flooded crap"
More games with Mark he's the best
Loves these videos as well as the main channel, love everyone apart of the yogscast, i get excited everyday to watch the next video
Best channel on TH-cam :D
I really enjoyed in this and would like to either see another game or something similar. Much love
Why did Mark take physical damage when both he and Pyrion used knowledge in the attack? I thought you had to take damage to the kind of stat you used?
I think that was the first time in the game that a mental attack happened, they probably forgot. Pretty sure they explained that before they took the break for explaining the traitor rules too, so it was probably like 2+ hours since they'd heard that rule.

DOH! Yeah, fuuuck. Hahah, totally missed that.
Really great to watch, love these sorts of videos
This game looks really fun. Not too hard but also alot of variation.
The Green Party will be furious.
Please do more of this!
If you roll a 0 for the monsters speed roll, they still get to move one space of movement... so Mark should have won this one
Where does it say that? I didn't see that rule
Page 14 of the rulebook:
"No matter how many penalties to movement you have on a turn, you can always move at least 1 space. This is also true if a monster rolls a 0 for movement (see “How Monsters Work,” page 15)."
Congratulations! Congratualtions!
I fucking LOVE Betrayal. I hope you guys play some during the Jingle Jam.
Great video guys!
More betrayal please!
I don't know if I missed it, but with asymmetrical games like this one it is useful to know both sides win conditions. I remember hearing the traitor's conditions, but not the other survivors.
They mention it at the start. They have to destroy enough branches that a connection cannot be formed.
The traitor explained it before he explained his win conditions.
At the end of the previous video Mark explained it
Great video and gameplay guys 👏
THE DICE GODS GIVE AND THEY TAKE!
Mark shouldnt have died, an attack with Sanity is mental dmg, not physical, therefore he takes one point of mental dmg not physical
Really needs to be more Mark on Game Night
*"And with my last breath I send you to HADES!"*
Pyrion's RP is amazing. XD
I hope there will be more
This was a lot of fun to watch.
It hurt me towards the end when they were in mental combat and took physical damage... That isn't how that works.
The Sir and that he defended with knowledge when pyrions ability says he has to use sanity
So you're telling me... _you took physical damage because of their mental combat?_
Hahahahahaha
Balthor Not even defending with proper mental ability as well.
I wish there was a better overhead camera view that was zoomed in or something so we could better tell what the board state looked like
What a great game!
great crew. but you're not allowed to use explosive runes as a sanity defense. It's strictly augments attack phase only
Not enough Harry the Homunculus jokes. 9.5/10
This seems interesting are you going to do any others?
@Mark: what the hell Mark, you wasted your first monster turn entirely. You could have attacked Pyrion with 2 monsters and try to produce 2 more vine blights with the other pairs, instead, you just moved one monster one space... it seems like you handed the game to the non-traitors on a silver platter ;P
I dun goofed. I completely forgot about the monster turns. XD
you should do more but with a different end goal
I wish pyrion was my uncle
love em. do more
the tree returns!
#High(ish)Rollers
1:00 - Shameless Plug #2
Gulthias Boogaloo
more please
plz do more :D
Didn't they say that you can defend with any stat from the blights?
I don't think so? Either way that isn't true, they make might attacks so you defend with might.
I think they can attack the blights with any stat
Also not true. Some abilities or items let you attack with other traits (and they defend with the same trait), like pyrion being a sorcerer lets him use knowldge or sanity. Otherwise you always use might.
Moss Rocks there are some haunts where you can attack with different stats, even without the proper items to use it.
True, but I actually played this haunt yesterday as the traitor (and we're very particular about the rules), it mentions nothing of defending with any stat, they're just normal monsters.
Pretty cool game.
HOW DID THEY GET NL ?
Do more of this. :(

Its bad but I fail to see how that would help. Look at how well it went for pewdiepie.
Portal Pony, What happened with pewdiepie? I don't follow his channel.
