0.003% probabilty of rolling a 1 five times in a row on a D8.... good job Lewis, good job.
To be fair, the probability of rolling any 5 d8s in any combination is 0.003%. Each dice roll is an independent statistical event. So rolling 1,2,3,4,5 or 5,8,2,3,5 are also 0.003%. Intuitively it seems less likely to get the same number in a row, but in reality it's just as likely as anything else.
Sure... but in this case the worst outcome of the dice rolls were the same number (1) five times in a row on the same dice. Any other number would be a compliment event since all other numbers except 1 was a good outcome. And the probability of this compliment event happening was obviously not 0.003%... it was 51.3% probability over the five rolls since 7/8 numbers were good as opposed to 1/8. So in reality the probability of five of their fighters to die on the first attempt was far from just as likely as anything else.
@@zeikjt Yes and that's the only combination that could've been rolled that would've resulted in that exact outcome, which means that outcome had a 0.003% chance of occuring. Your point is?
Honestly more worried about Lewis being in control of the money than Sips' reaction time.
Not so worried about Sips' reaction time, more about Sips' ability to sometimes have a completely incomprehensible thought-process and ends up doing something weird/stupid. Which is fine when it's just Sips, but when working WITH others, it's a problem.

Like I commented on your last play-through: You DO NOT reset the treat level during base defense and missions!
edit: Enemies left in the base however are discarded after they deal their damage.
edit2: After reaching treat level five you can keep rolling. The cap is for how high the treat can rise not on how many times you can roll.
Is there a difference between finishing a research with 3 active scientist and finishing a research and failing the alien dice so you have enough successes but 3 exhaustet scientists. They get refreshed at the end of the turn anyways right? So it makes no diffence if you finish the research.
Only if you fail before finishing the research.
So there is no point in not rolling until they are all exhausted right?
I think if they get exhausted they can't be assigned the following round. so effectively they have a turn where they do no research
Like Eagle said you lose them for one round. First you refresh tokens in your reserve and then you return tokens to your reserve.

When I saw the first video of this game, one of the first things I thought was "Imagine if Sips played with them. LOL!"

THAT'S NOT WHAT IT SAYS BEN. Well that is dick rip right there. It clearly specified that you can't if it is the only enemy. They could have attacked it again after they killed the Chryssalid.
That's an error by the editor I think. I'm looking at the app for this game and the card it shows here is what ben says, not what the editor showed in the video.

Nah, floaters can have either of abilities. The enemy cards aren't uniform; sometimes sectoids have Mind Merge, sometimes they have no abilities.

Its like it turned into EDF 2017. The air forces were wiped out, so it was up to the edf ground forces.

Just as a btw, the Alien (red) die does not "reset" during Base Defense/Missions regardless if you've moved on to the next task/alien. For those two things, the threat only goes down after you basically end the current turn.

Not a complaint but you may wanna re read some of the rules, I know my gaming group got loads wrong as well. The Floater should not have stayed in the base and each task/alien in the base does NOT reset the threat tracker.

Great play, but you guys made a mistake in my opinion: at 14:38 you didn't discard the survived alien in the base. According to the rules, you are supposed to discard ALL the aliens not killed and then resolve the base damage as usual. Am i wrong? You made this game harder LOL!

Hehehehe Sips American Accent. I guess Canada is in North America, otherwise, nice try Lewis.
He does have an American accent. America applies to two continents in that context.
PowerPAOK Except if you asked his what accent someone from Mexico has, he would say 'Mexican'. When people say American accent, they are actually referring to one of the United States accents. Lewis just made a mistake. His mistake is understandable, but you cant just try to justify it.
American and Canadian accents are almost the exact same thing. Especially since the two countries border one another and for the most part speak the same language. It's a simple mistake. He definitely didn't mean a North American accent though.
Canadian English, depending on the location, can be very similar to American English, though there is no such thing is an American Accent
