Also I want to clarify that I’m not saying this to nitpick or be petty. I think it’s incredible how Jenna learned to act as if she was playing - her fingerings are actually right a lot of the times (as far as I know, I’m not a cellist but I am a violinist) and when they aren’t, she still makes it look realistic. I’d just like to point out that the music we are hearing isn’t her playing, but she’s doing an amazing job at acting like she is playing. I just don’t want people to start believing that it’s possible to master an instrument, ESPECIALLY the cello, in two months. It takes YEARS and YEARS of practice. Again, Jenna should be praised for how much she accomplished in those two months, BUT people shouldn’t start believing that she has mastered the instrument or anything

I already loved Jenna due to her incredible acting in the series, but the fact that she took her time with cello lessons to make Wednesday’s playing look realistic made me love her even more

it’s obvious she isn’t actually playing, if you esp notice her fingers, but she did such a good job acting as if she was playing ~ her form/posture looks quite good and natural, if you saw her from a distance / don’t notice the details, it looks like she is playing ~ so as a cellist, i really commend her acting on this ! she did a good portrayal of the instrument 🎻 also very proud of the cello representation here !!! such a beautiful instrument ~

Nahhh don't be discouraged---think about it this way: SOME cellist was able to play that(although some parts obv required editing such as background) meaning that it's definitely not impossible! Also I personally am going after this piece(altho then again I've been playing my cello for more than 3 years now; years of experience might also be useful) and I'd say it's definitely not impossible! It has a lot of tricky articulation and I have yet to master it(thank alto and treble clef for that) but I know I'll be able to master it in time! Go for it! ❤❤❤

I was a classical clarinet prodigy before my mental illness took over. I’ve always lamented I didn’t choose cello. This Xmas my mum surprised me with an actual cello. I’m so learning !!!
Hey as a cellist I have to say, don't let these be your goal as, well, some of it is physically impossible. If you want an achievable goal, look at concertos (I.e.. Elgar), I wish you the best of luck! : ) (And quick tip, if you get frustrated, just take a break, I learned the hard way you will suffer major burnout, but also don't give up, I believe in you!)
@@mariomario6864 thank you! Given my extensive classical background I fully understand the limitations of how far I can go with the cello. I have however also found the ukulele. It’s technically much easier but if you understand western classical music and can transcribe pieces that are appropriate it makes a really rewarding instrument to play, especially if you have higher end instruments made of mahogany or koa wood and find the strings that help you create a rich yet still bright tone- I know I’m going to be able to go much further with the uke.

I'm saying the english and american people cannot have a good german accent because they can't pronounce the r correctly and the grammar is a latin grammar with accusativ génitiv dativ. As a french I pronounce the r correctly and I know latin so german grammar is simple for me.

IMO, the cello music adds a tremendous amount of dramatic nuance to both the film and to Wednesday's character. Jenna does a very good job of "playing" the cello. Kudos to her for putting in the time and energy to learn enough cello playing to be able to convincingly act the part. Most 20 year olds have the attention span of a gnat and are too lazy to make the effort. Obviously, one does not learn to actually play the cello to this level in a couple months. She does, however, play well enough to provide a convincing visual portrayal. Acting well often requires substantial amount of both physical and mental work. It is clear that Jenna actually cares about the story and her character and is willing to do the work. This really comes through in her performance and IMO is the key factor for the show's success. Unlike so many other crappy shows that seem to have no respect for the source material and see their show only as a platform for injecting and distributing their own moralizing. Of course, Tim Burton has be given the bulk of the credit for the show. He has shown himself, time and again, to be a master story teller. It is great to see that Mr. Burton provided the kind of environment that allowed Jenna to spread her wings and flourish. I look forward to the next season and I am hoping there will be lots more cello music!
I never liked nor disliked the cello. After hearing it in Wednesday and seeing Jenna play I discovered I like it or at least the musical pieces you hear in the film plus her theatrics and expressions.
