  • How I apply decals to my models. The principles are the same whether you are modelling a train, boat or plane.
    Tools list:
    Large soft paintbrush
    Small clean paint brush
    Cotton wool buds
    Self locking tweezers
    Small sharp scissors
    MicroSet
    MicroSol
    Sharp knife

I like the tip about bluetack on the base of the bottle. Lost a quarter of liquid flux the other day!

      Hi Mookie,
Glad you liked it. It's just my personal way of doing it, but if you found it interesting then that's great.
      Thanks for watching.

Really use full video. Can I ask how you apply the gloss coat before applying decals - is this an airbrush job Best wishes, Phil.

You did a great job! But looks very fiddly and I recon if I attempt it it will go wrong. Do you do the same procedure for BR logos?

looks good tom. been following your work on rmweb good to see your starting a channel. do you think you'll film your progress on kit building would be good to see how it's done.

Glad to see you over from RMWeb Gary, pleasure to have you on board. Absolutely - the ultimate aim is to film the builds in full from start to finish. I'm working on a London Road Models J3, and plan to do full filmed builds of a DJH C1, and also A1, once I have improved the lighting and sound quality.

I'm in lockdown. Any alternatives for micro-set can you suggest? I have revel plastic cement at hand.

Yes, please don't use revel plastic cement what ever you do! Better off without, and apply microset afterwards when you can get it.

Could you do a video on applying transfers to coaches? :D

      @cb01ttr  4 ปีที่แล้ว

It's exactly the same techniques for coaches. Is there something in particular you're struggling with?

Dear Loco Builder, I love your other videos but this one seems to have died. It won’t even start to play. Advice please. Brian

Hi Brian, it seems to work OK for me... perhaps there is a fault with TH-cam at your end perhaps? Sometimes I have to 'clear the cache' when it plays up a bit...

Hi, Thanks for the response. It's still not working on my tablet, although other videos are, and despite a reboot. But on my laptop everything is fine. Not sure what the problem is with the laptop, but it's not your video. Brian

Sorry I can't really help you Brian... I'm afraid my tech knowledge is rather poor!
