IF YOU ARE SOMEONE WHO ENJOYS RUSH, COMMENT YOUR FAVORITE RUSH SONG BELOW 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾
My suggestion: Limelight
Too many but mine is “Subdivision” official video clip and “Xanadu” live in Montreal also “Limelight” official video clip
"The Spirit of Radio", "Limelight", " Working Man", and "Red Barchetta".
Almost any of them. YYZ is pretty awesome.....
MALIGNANT NARCISSISM/DE SLAGWERKER has a fantastic drum solo❤🇨🇦 Live Snakes and Arrows Tour
Neil Peart is the best lyricist and drummer in rock history. The call him : The professor. A true genius in every sense. RIP Neil !!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
And author.
One of the best drummers certainly. But if he is your favorite I can respect that
There are tremendous lyricists who are very well known for their incredible lyricism. Complete songwriters
@@reality1958Agreed. Drummer yes, lyricist he's got PLENTY of company. Odd to declare him the best. I think we need to be a little more objective as Rush and Peart fans.
@@reality1958 I could name you 15 better drummers and a few better writers but as a combo of best drummer and lyricist in ROCK history.... Aside from Phil Collins and maybe Don Henley there aren't that many. In that group alone, Neil Comes a bit ahead as the best in my opinion.
@@jacquesjrviens3384oh out of actual drummers that write lyrics he may be the best lyricist. I’m not sure, but I have no knowledge that would contest that
"Ain't no way you hittin all that." Neil: "Hold my beer sir."
Naaahhh...Neil could do all that WHILE holding a beer.
Exactly, he gon learn today!!! Neil was one of the Greatest!!
“Ain’t no way he’s gonna hit all 8 of those toms.”
All of us who know THAT fill is coming: “Wait for it.”
The drummer is Neal Peart one of the greats! You got to check out his live drum solo from: Rush live in Frankfurt, It's amazing! 🔥🔥🔥
You think that his drum kit was big in this video, wait until you see the one in Frankfurt..lol. and yes, he hits every last piece
Holy shit yes.
🔥🐐🔥🐐🔥🐐🔥🐐
YAAAAASSSSSS!!!
Correction, he is the best drummer that has ever lived 🔥
Neil Peart is your favorite drummers favorite drummer. Rest in Peace, Professor. Great reaction.
RUSH is a Canadian band. Geddy Lee: Vocals, Bass, Keyboards. Alex Lifeson: Guitar. Neil Peart: Drums.
Neil was known as The Professor. No one could play like him. He is your favorite drummers, favorite drummer. He is revered by everyone in the rock world. He has all of our love 30 years before you saw this video.
RIP Neil 1952 - 2020 brain cancer
Nice synopsis.
forgot Neil - lyricist
Ginger Baker was considered the drummers drummer
And don't forget author! An amazing writer of 7 books - I've read them all.
Spirit of radio , Limelight, Fly by night, Xanadu, Priest of the temples of syrinx. And many more 168 songs as a fact. Neil P-ear - t is was and more than probably will be the best drummer of all time. His last name is pronounced as you would say"ear" in peart. My favorite band. My favorite guitarist is Edward VanHalen. R.I.P. NEIL AND EDDIE. PEACE OUT.
PAUSE as much as you want! Your reaction is why we watch!
Agreed.
Love for this drummer? You have NO idea! Neal Peart is one of the most loved drummers there has ever been.❤🙂
the moment you realize there are only three band members and the singer is also playing the bass and keyboard.
Neil Peart was voted Best Drummer 10 times!
RUSH wrote 168 songs over a 40+ year period of touring with the best live performances!
You have found the RUSH rabbit hole!
R.I.P. Neil Peart ❤
For the past 40+ years I have beaten my steering wheel into an oval shape because of Rush and Neal Peart.
Doing a "drum solo" while sitting in traffic or playing the keys on the dashboard is pretty much what every Rush fan will admit to.
I do that too... no kidding!
A TRUE RUSH fan will never give you slack for pausing because we know you have something to say about the band.....watch MALIGNANT NARCISSISM/DE SLAGWERKER and you'll see the PROFESSOR Neil Peart at work ❤🇨🇦
Exactly. Pause away.
RIP to Neil. He is known as the best rock drummer ever...and honestly not just rock.
@@JimmyJamJack > Neil Peart produced not one, but two Buddy Rich tribute albums, established scholarships in his name, and played in Buddy's stead at various memorial concerts.
Buddy Rich may have something to say about that. Even John Bonham worshiped Rich.
@josephkellard6432 I'm 54...seen 1000 bands and I'm quite aware of who Buddy Rich is.
One of the best drummers. There are a number of drummers who are at the top level
@reality1958 thank you captain obvious. Name some who have songs that are as popular or who made a bigger impact in rock music.
RIP, Professor. ❤🇨🇦
Three-man band! Video shot in a studio during the recording of the track. Lead singer, Geddy Lee, plays bass and keyboards. Drummer, Neal Peart, is best of all time and guitarist Alex Lifeson, is way underrated. Great band!
totally agree about people complaining over pausing, I wish they would just shut up and go listen to the song on their own if they don't like pauses
💯‼️
You just jumped into one very deep hole. All of us Rush fans will give you recommendations, I urge you to listen to them all.
Yyz in LIVE in Rio.
Working Man - Live in Cleveland.
🔥🔥🔥🔥 RIP Neil. Love the commentary. Much more to this band I hope you can explore further
Been giving drummer Neil Peart some love for 40+ years!! Well deserved!! #RIPNEIL
The greatest rock band of all time and drummer best in the world
Almost... John Bonham is the GOAT
The singer is the bassist is the keyboardist.
It's true 💯🤣
I love it when a guy who knows music - and knows what a rhythm sections job is - hears Peart for the first time. Awesome reaction, welcome to the Rush Family.
Rush are Canadian rock icons….the genre is “Progressive Rock”….aka Prog.. Geddy Lee - vocals, bass guitar, keyboards; Alex Lifeson - guitars; Neil Peart “The Professor” - drums & percussion. He was your favourite drummer’s favourite drummer. A legend. Sadly he passed away in 2020.
🔥🔥🔥🔥Good reaction! One of the best drummers there was in rock (R.I.P.). The other two musicians are also legends on their instruments.
Xanadu, live from Exit Stage Left
One thing I love about Rush is that every member is an absolute master of their instrument and everyone spends some time in the front of the mix. No one part dominates over the others, they just float to the front and ease back into the background in an endless, seamless cycle.
2112 is my forever favorite!!
Mine as well. He's not ready yet. Needs to develop Rush/Prog Rock ears first.
@@donalddavid3431Agreed! He’s not ready…YET!
The most unique rock sound of the 80's, Geddys voice and incredible skills on drum, bass and keyboard is what made them stand out. Three guys creating this sound...
2112 Album is considered by many their best.... So sad they're not all with us anymore.
Love you RUSH!!!! Always!!!!
As a drummer of 30 years, this is an all-time great reaction to my favorite song.
And on the drums, the one and only, the GOAT, the Professor, Neil Peart. RESPECT. Rock in Peace Neil ❤🤘
John Bonham usurps
WE KNOW! We've been giving Neil a whole lotta love for decades 🙂
Did you know that live, Geddy Lee sings plays the bass, and plays the keyboards including the organ pedals *all at the same time?*
They consistently reproduce all of those instruments, all that huge sound, live with three dudes and minimal backing tracks.
The Drummer is Neil. He is called "Your favorite drummers, favorite drummer"
He also was the lyricist for this band. He made you think, then played those rhythms. You have to have the words for Rush videos. They are next level
This is the greatest Prog Rock band in the history of the world. You have started down a rabbit hole of music that will take you a decade to go through. I am very much looking forward to your 2112 reaction when you get there.
I forget who said it first, but I'll never forget it and I have told so many people this since hearing it. The saying goes.. If a musician wants to keep perfect timing in a song, they will follow a metronome. If a metronome wants to keep perfect timing, it will follow Neil Peart. RIP Professor. You are the drummer the band in heaven was waiting on. You are sadly missed.
So glad you LOVE what my hubby have loved for 39 yrs!!!! RIP Neil!!!
Neal Peart said Tom Sawyer was his toughest song to play live, he threw so much into it and they played this track on every tour since '81 so over the years it just got harder (and he got older) since he was a perfectionist and had to play it as close to album perfect as possible, Neal Peart is highly regarded as the GOAT and few can argue.
It actually took me awhile to get into the band when I was a kid because of his voice...but i got over it lol
Thank you, brother, for the encouragement. I needed that. Oh, and Rush rules. Time to jam!
. OOOH....... I think we got ANOTHER ONE on the HOOK!! haha I LOVE IT!! Yes, 'It's a REACTION'!!! haha
Neil Peart was a phenomenal drummer and an excellent lyricist. The best rock drummer ever and a kit to match! May he rest in peace.
Three craftsmen, way beyond musicians. Their music is its own genre.
His snare head is torqued so unbelievably tight the clinic I did with him in the 80s to see him do this in person was truly amazing and he doesn’t even struggle i learned so much in one day go check out one of his solo and do a reaction on that you will just have to walk away it’s so good
I personally like all the pauses! Any fan of Rush knows the songs, but watching someone react--they get BIG eyes and that look on their face, “WAIT! What did I just hear? What was THAT?!”--just like we all did when we first heard them! By the end of the song, that initial look of shock turns into “DAMN! These guys are effing good! I gotta hear more!”-and a new Rush fan is born!
Great reaction!
No Rush fans will ever knock you for pausing to appreciate, trust me lol. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 BTW, the Singer is the Bass player. And the Keyboard Player. Same guy. There's only three in the band.
Welcome to the Rush rabbit hole. Check out the Spirit of Radio. The change ups will blow your mind
Dang it, Sean, I was going to suggest Spirit of Radio, you beat me to it, but hey, outstanding suggestion
Beat me to the ”welcome to the Rush rabbit hole”. Enjoy your trip!
Bro. you have no idea of the rabbit hole that you are about to take! Welcome to the Rush machine! Peace out. 👍🇺🇸🔥🎸😎
The bass player, the keyboardist and the singer are all the same person. Best 3 man band ever ❤
Neil’s the reason I started drumming. Spent a lot of time and $$ trying to replicate his set.
As far as songs to checkout oh boy where do we start lol. Subdivisions, YYZ, Limelight, the entire Live in Rio album, Roll The Bones, Time Stand Still, Mission, Hold Your Fire etc. look forward to more reactions. Glad you watched the drum solo!! Love the reactions keep it up.
The drummers name was Neil Peart. He was called The Professor.
So u love it when a drummer shows his chops
Dude your in for a journey with this band an with this drummer
Best progressive rock band on the planet an the dude singing is also the bass player a the keys…
An also the lyrics!! They be dropping bars in every song about the human race an mankind’s journey
So fun watching a reaction to someone who has never heard/seen RUSH. Yes, the 'drummer' kills it. Neil Peart, is "The Professor". Fun reaction, thanks!
Nothing but love for the drummer
So glad you acknowledged Neil Pert's drumming!!!! Well deserved
I love watching you find this and react. In the beginning when you said he wasn't going to use all those drums i lost it. 😂 Neil was one of the most skilled drummers that's ever picked up sticks. Great job
Hey my friend, only got to see RUSH live once in the late 80s(Power Windows Tour) in Halifax,Nova Scotia, Canada! Best live band ever!!😀👍👍👍👍👌✌
Thats the GOD of Thunder on the drums. R.I.P. 😎💯
For a 3 man band, NO ONE rocks better than! Hell, I know 4 and 5 man groups that aren’t this good !!
Just for the drums, do yourself a huge favor and listen to YYZ live in Rio. No singing, only instrument. Kicks ass !!!
RIP Neil Peart !
I was just pointing that out. In this video it’s a studio version. So they got a studio bassist. But Getty Lee is the bass and singer live. Making them a 3 piece set. And the sound is rare. Like ZZ Top just a 3 piece. But they used drum synth. It wasn’t all just the drummer. Many accused them of backing tracks because of that. But they could do it live using the drum backing only.
As a Gen Xer, any time you hear Tom Sawyer, it's like the first time, every time. It's always an amazing experience! RIP Neal Peart, one of the greatest drummers in history.🤘🏼🔥
Everyone is gona scream about neil on drums... But Geddy on vocals, bass and keyboard was killing it on this one.
Ok drummer
That’s the goat bro❤
You just heard the GOAT of drummers. Now YYZ
I can't believe you know enough about drums to dissect his kit but you don't know who he is. Welcome to one of the best days of your life.
One of the best rock bands in history. Great reactions btw!
Top drummer. One of the best ever❤
I remember when this album hit the stores, the music shop on the same block as my high school was going crazy, everyone skipping classes to hang out listening to it at staff just playing the full album all day long.
The singer is the Bass and keyboard player
Another great song by Rush you will love is The Spirit of Radio
My guy! You said, bro, ain't no way you hitting all that. And I fell out the chair! You got my like and sub right there! 🥁 🎸 🔊
Spirit of the radio, YYZ (live in rio), Limelight
DRUMS ARE EVERYTHING!!!
RIP PROFESSOR!!! Your favorite drummers favorite drummer! What a great loss for humanity! Rush!!!! Rush and Ice Hockey the best of Canada!!!
They’re All killin’ it!
The drummer Neil Pert is a legend RIP
You’re reaction to one of my favorite songs made my day🥰 Enjoy the rabbit hole good sir 😁
I was at one of their concerts in Philly in 1982. Awesome show and even better in person, if you can believe that! Three men making so much music, it will never be duplicated. Geddy Lee sings, plays the bass and keyboards. Neil Peart was one of the best if not the best rock drummer ever.
True story. I grew up in a town outside Toronto and they lived in the next town. We heard music coming from the factories and we climbed on the dumpsters to watch in the window and saw them rocking out making the most impressive sounds we've ever heard. They saw us and came out and talked to us about hockey (That's what we Canadians do 😂) and we talked about the music they were making and their cars they had very cool cars and Geddy and Alex gave us guitar picks and Neil gave us drumsticks they were so down to earth and humble and when I was older in 88 and 03 I was lucky enough to see them live and they were incredible. Neil Peart's drum solo was Epic. Battlescar is a must my friend by Rush and another Canadian band Max Webster. Peace out ✌️ ☮️
Hard to find the right words for this much talent in one room,RIP Neil
Love your reaction. 2112, Red Baruchetta, Spirit of Radio, La Villa Strangiato, YYZ, Time Stand Still, Witch Hunt, Camera Eye… these will be in your playlist for ever more once you start listening to them.
You are witnessing the goat on drums Neil Pert himself. I do mean THE GOAT. best drummer ever to live. in my personal opinion.
The greatest trio in the history of rock’n roll…Rush understood the importance of blending lyrics with musical artistry…The time signature, 7/4, in the middle of the song just adds to the song’s complexity…✌️🎤🥁🎸🔥
I just watched a reaction video (done by a drummer) the other day -I think it was FREE WILL. He had the music tablature up on the screen and figured out that there were 7 time signature changes in the first 2 minutes of the song! They were masters at that!
I also saw another video where one song (again, don’t remember which-maybe 2112) has a section where the time signature is 17/4 😳🤯
Neil is considered one of the greatest drummers of all time. All three are considered some of the best in their field. I am so lucky to have been able to see them for 40 years.
Man u got me love the passion that whole band can play man simple
Oh he will indeed hit all those drums. 🔥🔥🔥 Great reaction, man.
"Look at that Kit!" Yeah, that's his small kit. Watch some live videos to see the big one
Jays play it back and notice that right after the initial keyboard solo the timing switched from 4/4 to 7/8 t8me, and so smoothly you hardly notice. All 3 of these guys are considered masters at their instruments, and the lead singer also plays bass and keyboard during songs. Check out their performance of the instrumental “YYZ” Live in Rio-you will get to see their mastery without being distracted by the lead singer who seems to bother you.
Neil 'Fillmeister" Peart.
No one actually calls him that.
But his disdain for areas not containing fills is legendary. As you travel down this wonderful road, you'll hear it. You'll love it, and you'll note when it isn't present ( late80s ).
Welcome to Rush! Neil Peart, the drummer is considered one of top rock drummers of all time. He sadly passed away from brain cancer in 2020. As for the singer, Geddy Lee, he is also the bass player and the keyboard player. In concert, he often does all 3 at once (and uses foot pedals). The guitarist, Alex Lifeson, is an amazing player and always seems to add just the right amount of emotion and musicality to his solos. Geddy and Alex have been best friends since they met at school at age 13! In 1974, after the release of their first album, Neil joined them on drums and the same three guys kept performing together until Neil decided to retire in 2015. At some point, I suggest checking out live performances by Rush, which are phenomenal. My first suggestion is the live version of 'Xanadu' from Exit Stage Left, 1981.
The professor gets all our praise that is Mr Neil Peart. Drummer percussionist lyricist. Now Mr Geddy Lee vocals keys ,bass. Mr Alex Lifeson guitar. Our three Canadian masters
At work... 40 + yrs of awesomeness! Its hard to hear all first listen. Then the words dude Momma gonna tell ya.🎵 No His mind is not for rent to any God or
Government. Always hopefully yet discontent,he knows changes aren't permanant. But change is. XANADU
The best intro ever
Cheers
🥁🔥🔥🔥🔥🥁
To Rush fans, every song is great, but yes.. this is their best song. "Subdivisions" is also 🔥
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥By now I see you've been informed who the drummer is, something I didn't see anyone mention though, is that he was soooo much more than a drummer, he was wise and brave beyond his years, a philosopher and a massive adventurer who wrote a handful of wonderful books about his travels.
In the late 90s Neil lost both his 19-year-old daughter, Selena(car accident), and his wife, Jackie(cancer), within a 10month period. Shortly after that he quit the band and just took off on his motorcycle and didn't return for 2yrs, he traveled 55,000 miles up and down and across North America, he wrote a book about the healing process of his 2yr trip that allowed him to get back to the band and music, it's called "Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road", it's my favorite of all his books. A couple years later he road his bike across Africa for a year, and wrote a book about that too.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Oh yeah, one last thing, the singer, bass player and keyboardist are all the same person, Geddy Lee, the band is a trio, and Alex Lifeson on guitar is no slouch either, he just gets overlooked often because of the greatness of Neil and Getty playing multiple instruments. BTW, pause all ya want, especially when you're giving us intelligent thoughts and insight on the music, and not going on some personal side story rant, like some reactors do, plus it's your channel, your reaction, your journey into unheard songs, if people don't respect that, then.... tough titty said the kitty when the mild ran dry...lol. Great reaction, keep up the good work!! ✌💚
we all love the professor. lol man you pause all u want with that enthusiasm. on a different note, when Neil has his kit put together everything in it is used. you will see it get even bigger.
New subscriber, well said, I totally agree 😄 it is a reaction and I enjoyed, that's why I subscribed and thumbs 👍 love from Canada 🍁
Rumour has it that Neil's mother was an octopus, and his father was a spider.
If you'd like to see another one of his mind-blowing performances, check out La Villa Strangiato from the Time Machine Tour. Cheers from Toronto!
🎤 🎹 🎸 🥁 🎸 🔥 🔥 🔥
I see in the comments they keep calling Neal Peart a drummer. He’s not, he’s a percussionist. And he’s the GOAT. You need to see his solo live from Hamburg I think. Will blow your mind.
This song is the drummers dream to play at anywhere near that level!
Loved the reaction. Yes a lot of pauses but your comments were all on point
❤❤❤❤❤from Vegas, I got to see them twice , best drummer, best basist, they are all amazing!!!! Mind blowing!!!
