I’ve just started learning about hypermobility and how that can also affect forward head posture and how the body may activate the wrong muscles to hold up the head, which needs to be retrained (also can be coupled with anterior pelvic tilt). That might be something you incorporate into your videos and training. Hypermobility and connectivity tissue disorders like hEDS are experienced by millions of people and often co-occur with ADHD and autism.
As a former pitcher for 25 years and throwing over 500 balls a day for the next 20 years as an instructor, I have experienced so many issues like impingements, TOS, etc. That plus today’s technological advances, we tend to round our shoulders more and more…we are constantly being pulled forward. Extension exercises in combination with opening the palms forward are a MUST as well as massage and yoga (for me). It takes an hour in the morning and a couple of other sets throughout the day to make it without being in terrific pain. Wish I had done more of these exercises back when I was younger!
I wish they taught you this stuff in school. Try walking backwards as well. 99% of the time, we are in flexion and moving forward, to help with your posture, walk backwards and the body will naturally want to move into extension. Keep it up!
You really covered a lot of area of all the muscle groups that are involved in this. I recently discovered the tightness in my stomach region a couple weeks ago and have been working with a foam roller to release this. Most people arent taking all these areas into consideration that play a part is the dysfunction. Thx for the comprehensive video.
You are so easy to understand best video I’ve been watching videos I have in my neck years is by far the best I have seen a gift or explaining things in understandable way
i've been collecting stretches/massages/exercises for the last 10 years and this one video had so many of the most useful.. amazing!! thank you for sharing it all, i can't believe i'm just now finding your channel :)
Wow I am really glad that I stumbled upon this guy's videos he gets right to the point and a video full of information which is very rare on TH-cam these are very good I think I'm looking forward to watching more
Warmest thanks for this multistage package you put together for us! Been a subscriber for months, after getting repeated pain around lower ribs in the front (+ side and back), and around the sternum and scalenes; most likely caused by working at the computer all day (+ being top-front heavy thanks to genetics). Your previous videos for scalenes, tos and back have provided some relief but will implement this routine, hoping it will help with the above tightness and pain. Bonus fun points for having your assistant around, always ready to help. I'd also like to add 'fix/release ideas for the above and/or fascia lines' on a wish list for a future video (if this routine doesn't tackle these issues).
Thank you so much. I'm happy to see you're seeing relief in your pain! I can def look into making some release videos for the fascia lines in the future.
It's really interesting. Thank you. The specialists and doctors don't give any advice for migraine apart from taking médecine. With a Tos on both sides, it's very difficult to stand it almost every day. I will do exercices, I've already noticed I get better in the morning after some stretching of the back. The problem is the use of mobiles and computers everyday
Great video..looks like your dog also wanted some screen time. I was wondering if you have any suggestions for those who are suffering from injury induced costo on their chest, on how to use the roller safely.
lol, ya, my dogs a bit or miss sometimes with the camera 😂. When it comes to an injury, it’s best to start with half the pressure of rolling it and working your way up. You should also let it heal and even wait until you get the green light from your doctor if you wanted to be extra cautious.
Hi. I have a technicality about the 7-day program. Do movies have the option of running subtitles with translation (Poland), as is the case on YT? I am from another country and I would like to understand the instructions in the videos.
It's a pity, I would really like to use this program. Nevertheless, thank you for the materials shared on YT. Regards and all the best to you!@@TrainandMassage
It might because the nerves to the triceps pass through the front of the shoulder area. Because of this, any arm pain might be due to issues in the shoulders or even the neck.
Thank you for the response! My tricep started hurting in October, and then things have just gotten worse since then with a shoulder impingement as well as TOS. Really appreciate all your knowledge. If one good thing came out of this all, it’s that I’m fascinated by the human body and anatomy now!
My triceps also has big issues: it hangs a bit like the tricep of an 80 y old grannie while at the same time also having muscle lumps in it. I think it's from getting impinged in the shoulder.
I have had really bad posture for like 50 years. I have been diagnosed with severe cubital tunnel syndrome, and I'm pretty sure I have TOS.That being said I am now experiencing muscle wasting in my hands. Recently like the last 2 weeks my left index finger is numb is that normal?
The goal is to do them all in one sequence (this is based on my in person sessions for 2 hours) but to break it up, you can either break it up by massage, stretching, exercises; or you can lower the recommended time for each techniques.
Thank you, nice thorough video! But stupid question, when you say to do stage 1, release, stage 2, restore, etc, how long do you do them for each, or is it back to back each day? Versus like 1 week on stage 1, 1 week on stage 2, etc? Thanks!
There should be a timeline in the video for how long to perform each one. But the idea is to perform them all back to back. Its a long treatment but its mimicking a treatment I would do If I worked on you. If you dont have the time, just pick and choose which muscles to release, restore, etc. Or like you said, do releasing one day, then restoring another. The goal is to get them as close as possible together. I hope this helps
I saw the timeline on the video, great attention to detail I must say, just wanted to confirm. And ouch lol, but better to address pain up front than it has been to try and accept the fate of non-action for sure! Thanks for quick reply and great video while I await 5 week out PT initial appt. Crazy or not, that's the new reality I'm told...
@@TrainandMassage Ah, I finally survived the video until the point it's explained! I've usually felt pretty spent after the first few fascia release drills, as a guy I must say hats off to the ladies that make it past the first one, yikes.
@@TrainandMassageagree I figured it out thanks to this guy that my TMJ complete erase (expect for the permanent locked jaw, it's still there but don't bother bc the pain and tightness was the real issue) doing this excercises, I'm speechless, this neck shoulder TMJ pain was taking my life away, I was really depressed because the pain was always there and while I was trying to understand what was happening to me I didn't want to see anyone so this guy just put all his knowledge here at internet just for free I only can say thank you bro for real, u literally saved my life. God bless you and greetings from Argentina!

no problem! Im glad you're finding this on your own. If a foam roller is too much, try a pilates ball.

How many times per day and week should these be performed?
2-3x a week. 1x a day. Or you can break the workout up into several pieces and do it daily.
@@TrainandMassage Is this because its possible to "overtrain" or aggravate any underlying issues?
Yes, exactly. You don’t want to overdo it

Not yet. But it’s in the works

Sometimes I wonder if all this is caused by TMJ and clenching/grinding my teeth
I personally don't think so. I think the bad posture and tight muscles creates the TMJ
