- We made it to Malaysia and could not be more excited to explore this incredible country.
Our Malaysia trip is starting in the beautiful little city of Taiping in Perak state. Taiping Is a super underrated city as you'll see in this video.
We wander round the streets, eat some amazing Malaysian food and give you our raw first Impressions of this country.
I can tell you instantly we are really going to enjoy our time in Malaysia. The street food is so good, the Malaysian people are ridiculously friendly and the landscapes are stunning.
We're starting our trip here instead of Kuala Lumpur like most foreigners, there are so many underrated destinations in Malaysia hope we can show the beauty of this country!

@@EllisWR great news, i will be in thailand in 3 weeks time and cant wait, my bag is already packed lol. 3 days in Bangkok then off to the golden tringle to start my own travels with my thai son. its going to be amazing, no swanky hotels just good food and lots of sight seeing.

definitely changed my view of Malaysia. in passing stop overs I was told it was not a safe to travel to the outer regions. I think some one was telling porky's.

You got wrong information. I m from a village in East Malaysia Borneo n we are kind n friendly people n welcome all races of tourists n foreign visitors. Also many White men settle down n have families here married our locals.
Welcome to Malaysia... You need enough time at least half a year to explore some of the 14 states in Malaysia about anything you want to know, what you want to eat, what you want to learn, what you want to go & there are many other things you "want" while you are here.. Hope you have enough sweet memories when you want to leave this country later.. So have fun..

In the o.den days we call the person selling the snacks as penjual kacang putih, theynusually sells peanuts, dhals, chickpeas etc as snack... the one you got is a mix of casava chips, fried green peas, peanuts, muruku (the long noodle like chips) and maybe fried coconut n flour battere...

Don't worry about learning Malay because Malaysia being a former British colony, mostly everyone speaks good English. Usually char kueh tiaw is dry unless you order the wet version. Next time try the fried char kueh tiaw with duck egg.

Yes, Taiping used to be one of the major industrial town hundreds of years ago. Our first railway line was built here, to show just how important it was.

Malaysia from my memory as kids(more than 25 years ago) my family go to Southern Thai-Chinese temples to make an annual merit. and then we crossed border to shopping more likely an electronic products(dunno why, may b at that time southern is an imported harbor from japan or US) watches ;seiko ,g-shock ,baby-g or super NES lol nothing , its just to check u know any of this.
Malaysia is my impressive memory i was waiting the time to go there every year. the vibe is like Thailand with more Chinese and Islamic.

The food is actually the same price and sometimes cheaper in Malaysia Suko! Very different types of food it's interesting

Don't need the menu to be able to order! English alphabet but all Malay or sometimes Chinese words. Yeah drive on the left. Really nice place

What's a different the test between Thai tea and Malaysia tea?
They are very similar and both delicious , but the tea we drink here is often pulled from height so it's foamy!
And for loose leaf tea apparently Malaysia has some of the best

I live just a few hours from the Malaysian border. First impressions.. Not as friendly as the Thai people but not that bad.
