      I went back to relaxers after 10 years natural as well. I love my hair either way but I was tired of my mbl hair sitting at chin length due to the shrinkage, I was not about to go another decade not seeing the results of my hard work.

      I'm glad people are doing what's best for them, but kinda devastated to see so many returning to the chemicals that are literally harming our bodies.
      It makes me wonder why.
      I guess people really do hop on the bandwagon if it's cool then hop off when they learn how much work it takes.
      ....just a guess.

    You should have started from the back of the head and then did the front and around the edges . The front processes faster and around the edges. Starting from the back and working the way to the front will give the back time to process . Also the edges are sensitive areas do those last . Just something my aunt told me. She’s a retired Beautician.

    • @tameraDeun
      @tameraDeun  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      My edges getting way nappier than the rest of my head. When it’s time for a relaxer the front of my head is always the worst that’s why I started at the front. I do what works best for me. Thanks for your comment tho ♥️

    I’m planning on doing my relaxers at home because I used to get beautiful relaxers but then my stylists moved and I went somewhere else but the relaxers were way to light strength it basically did nothing 😭. I’m tired of looking crazy. But I’m so scared of damaging my hair even more because it’s already on the thinner side and needs a lot of tlc. This would be my very first time doing it on my own, any tips ? 😩 plus just one big question I have, how long should each section take individually and how long should it take overall before heading into the danger zone of my hair potentially falling out and leaving it in too long ? I’ve watched other videos and the timing is almost always different with each person. I know it’s based on the product but with the product you use, what are your timing regimens on each section and overall ? 😭

      Hey love, I have been relaxing my hair at home for a long time. You can do it! My biggest tip is pay attention to your hair. I usually leave mine on for about 15 min after I have applied to my whole head. But if your hair is thinner you may not need to leave it on that long.

      Just make sure you use very small sections I personally use Japanese thermal conditioning it’s a lot more steps but my hair always turns out so shiny and straight after without being brittle it’s just hard to find the product and it’s pretty expensive I have very fine hair so I was never able to use relaxers without my hair being brittle since fine hair processes very very fast. I would recommend split your hair in 4sections and make sure it’s throughly detangled so you can work fast and start with one section and make thin sections from that section while you apply it and never over lap the product to where it was previously relaxed and just wash one side so the product doesn’t stay on for very long I love mine on for 5 minutes and do the other side the next day or 2

      If you section your hair correctly, I usually have about the same sectioning as this lady, so the coarse part of my hair is where I start. Middle of my head is very coarse and mats down very quickly. I start there. Moving quickly through the section then straight back to the nape. I do the front last because even when my hair is natural I can train the front to be pin straight if I wear it slicked down enough. This lady started at the front, perhaps her hair is very dense and she prefers straighter edges. Nothing at all wrong with that. LISTEN to your hair. You will know where is the thickest most unruly part. Start there move quickly and it should take about 9-15 minutes application. Depending on texture and how straight you want it, scalp sensitivity, and the fact that you WANT to under process it, you might leave it on for another 5-10 minutes. Good luck 👍🏽
