Only time to buy the PCL when Pimax improves QC, especially their lens. I ended up returning mine for a refund because I wasn’t prepared to enter the lens replacement lottery. I have preordered the upcoming Pimax Super OLED with pancake lens. Hopefully this will get better QC.
@@RicheUK For the price you get only good visuals. Rest is bad. The internet has over hyped Pimax. I bought the normal crystal one for 1600 euro. The stand alone they promised and hand tracking bla bla all lies they have not implemented them. They charge you extra on top of that price to get Dmas earphones another 100 euro. Then a face plate for better tracking that you need external boxes to use another 200 euro. Software is rubbish not finished. Comfort is rubbish Sound is rubbish Tracking with controllers is rubbish. Also in DCS recently the tracking just also looses its self sometimes havingvto continuously press Center VR button. Customer Support is rubbish Your better of with a Quest 3 even though meta is on crack with some of its policies.
To be honest im not sure about it now. Ordered ny headset 29th November and today is 13th December. Bever heared from them anything since.pimax discord full of ppl like me and waiting much longer times. Support team answering some random answer to this not being honest whats going on. Many ppl allready canceled their orders due to this. Thats in UK then ticket been raised by many of us asking questions and abswers was that HMD safely arrived to UK werehouse and being prepeired to be sent off thats been a week ago now. So be carefull as for me looks like something went wrong and still waiting
LOL. You are not alone. I ordered mine on the 29th also and still have not received it. Now that being said when I ordered it they did say 2 to 3 weeks for shipping. I was reluctantly fine with that. I opened a case about a week ago to get a tracking link so I could track when it is shipped since none was provided. I got a response and they provided a tracking link and they additionally said they were going to prioritize my order this week and expected it will be shipped this week. Hurray I thought. Well it's Friday and still has not shipped. I'll give it a couple more days. After that I'm going to have to decide whether to pull the plug and cancel. At that point there will be to many warning signs to not ignore.
@stevenmay5703 same as me. I been told that it's arrived "safely" in UK warehouse and it's being prepared for dispatch. That was 5 days ago... I also give it another week and possibly pull the plug out. Sad thing is that there isn't anything out there else for similar price range and visuals quality...
UPDATE: I got my order yesterday. Hurray. So that's good. And it was within the 2 to 3 week promised delivery time. I think unfortunately there was a slight break down in their shipping status system. Because the tracking link I was provided did not show it shipped. It just magically showed up yesterday. In fact I got an email it shipped after it was already delivered. lol. So that's ok. I think they are working hard @pimax and trying their best and probably bent over backwards to get their delivery out to me and perhaps forgot to update the tracking status. So I can't complain about the time it took but I would just say that their tracking system seemed to be a little off for me. Hope that helps for everyone. So I have to give kudos for Pimax delivering on what they said. Maybe a day late but they did deliver. ;)

So some have said, but I can't testify to those experience some have mentioned, or have even done videos about. I can say I've had no issue with my PCL and I use it almost daily.
PHH, for me there's two main reasons for holding off: a. Frustratingly, the AUD$ conversion factor is still too much of a hit (plus the extra $ for overpriced components to upgrade my PC rig in order to realise acceptable VR performance). b. Unfortunately, Pimax's security of supply is a factor due to real world tensions and the well established potential of mainland China based manufacturing being arbitrarily denied or prevented at a moments notice. A very high priced 'luxury' product that's dependant upon the vagaries of the CCP and also a growing threat of conflict with the West in th3e Pacific region (though not a given) is not a good formula to splash the cash.
These are concerns I can't allay, and are understandable. As I said in the video, there are other pieces of equipment competing for the attention of our cash.

I own a Crystal OG and have owned many PIMAX headsets and other brands and sorry but I disagree. I would be interested to know what you would suggest other than a Crystal because I haven't seen any compatition, certainly not for the price
@@alexsp7086 I don't care about price I want the best Flight Sim experience possible. As I said I own both. Quest 3 is a great all round headset but not good enough for me for what I do. Crystal isnt either but its currently the best that I can afford. Looking forward to Crystal Super.
Use SteamVR and in the menu allow it to display VR as a window. You have to toggle the windows and then you can record it using OBS or NVIDIA shadowplay.
The quality control just isn't there at Pimax to warrant this video's title. I understand sending a near-perfect headset to a TH-camr is good PR but the rest of the customerbase is stuck with crap lenses with distortions in them. Sure, customer service will eventually (maybe?) fix that but it might take a couple of sets of lenses and multiple months before you can finally enjoy that €1000 headset.
@@Pricklyhedgehog72 It was nothing dramatic but also not the experience you expect when paying around €1000 for a headset. The right lens had a visible distortion in it and the sweet spot (with both eyes) was razor sharp between the 10 and 11 o' clock position AND between 1 and 2. Not in the center. Also light was leaking in through the lefthand side of the headset, placing my hand over the left headstrap swivel solved it but that is not a permanent solution. To be fair, Pimax customer service was quick to respond to my supportticket with an offer to send new lenses but having read on the Pimax Discord that some people were waiting for their 3rd set of replacement lenses 6 months on (each time getting lenses that had some type of problem) AND new lenses would not fix the lightleak I figured it was better to return the unit to the reseller while I was still in the return window. Unless they commit to providing good quality control of the headsets I will not be getting another Pimax.
Meta Quest 3 is the way to go for VR. Far cheaper, better quality, much simpler to set up and has superior inside out trakcing and passthrough. The new Pimax pricing model is terrible, and the way they treat their customers is atrocious. Stay away.

The mini-subscription format is so offputting for me. I know you can pay it all at once, but I don't like what they've done here.

Lol dude I own a Crystal and a Quest 3 and although the Quest 3 is a great headset it is no Crystal. It always comes down to your use case
