- Herdy's Frontyard Ultra, Perth, Australia. A sister event to Birdy's Backyard Ultra. A brand new 'backyard ultra' format event, but this time, right in the heart of metropolitan Perth, a city of 2 million, and a circuit that circumnavigates a perfect 6.71k loop around Herdsman Lake.
UNLIMIT follows athlete Phil Gore and his crew as to just what it takes to participate and be successful at this format of Ultra Marathon running. No one knows the limits as to how long these events go and in UNLIMIT we get an inside profile on how to prepare to tackle the unknown.
Herdy's Frontyard instantly became one of the biggest 'backyard ultra' format events in Australia and we follow Phil, his team and fellow runners in their attempts to set a new Australian record.
Now he’s the backyard ultra world record holder. What a legend.
Thank you for sharing this. I loved watching this story unfold. Hats off to Kev and congratulations to Phil. You guys, and all teams involved, are incredible.
Well shot and told. Doing my first Ultra at Dead Cow Gully this year - learned a bit from this. Thanks all involved, and congrats to Phil
To keep going for that long when you can see you're not going to take the win! Mad respect for the australian rekord, but even greater respect for the assist!
And a great production to boot!
That was absolutely among the best videos I have ever seen in my life. Thank you for bringing to us. How much heart does Phil have that was insane!
Excellent!
Hope to see you at the next one mate. ;)
Would have loved to be there in person. I’ll be done for Birdy’s though!
Love it! Great work everyone, BK's knowledge of Aussie fauna is unprecedented ... who knew?
He is always full of surprises with his wealth of knowledge!
That was waaaaay cool, congratulations Team and Gore and a great 2nd for Kev.
Loved it!
Amazing video! Whoever made this film... respect!! Felt like a big budget documentary. Great storytelling and editing.
Thanks Tobias! Really appreciate your kind words :)
This was bloody great.
Awesome work team!!!
Amazing! Great film of this achievement.
Great stuff guys, amazing effort! Can't wait for Hysterical Carnage Backyard Ultra.
Ditto mate. Nice taster for what is to come.

your mind is in another level
youre such an inspiration
Great film!
Truly inspiring
WOW!
Amazing brother
Great race coverage, but it's the interview/voice-over that matters. I felt like I understand a little more about the people who take on these races.
Well we found out just how far you could go this year....
Biggest flex that my dad is Shaun😏
This is very cool!!! I'm curious too... How many more laps could he do?
Curious as well. He had a fair bit still in the tank. Hopefully we will witness down the track just how far he can push.
Random Question, but where could I find that google sheets Phil made?
Hardcore
What beer does he drink after the last lap?
I have got the same type of terrain (a bit of tar most non technical gravel) what shoes do you recommend? I am hesitating between hoka challenger and just straight up daily road trainer like my Brooks glycerin or NB 1080v11. What do you reckon?
Perhaps I’m missing the obvious… but #fysk? What does it stand for? Assuming Front Yard S--- K---?
F* You Shaun Kaesler (Shaun runs Ultra Series WA... it's an affectionate phrase :P)
What happens if the last two people stop after the same lap? Who wins?
no winner
Is the difference between frontyrd and backyard just the location, urban and rural?
correct, still the same format and same rules, just a name
@@gemmagore1921 Thanks, I've just registered for Herdy's!
Did I see Phil receive a sun umbrella before the end of the lap? That's a DQ
It was handed to him after the finish line. There is a 200m gap between the finish line and the start line at Herdy's
The movie is good but the background music/sound is louder than the talking. BAD indulgent sound people not thinking of the listeners. The sound is cluttered, echoey and competes with the vocals.
