I never thought I'd hear you mention my hometown Neepawa, MB! Such a wonderful rural farm town of only 4,600 of the friendliest people you'll meet. Neepawa was lucky to have a family start a brewery several years back, which has been a fantastic addition to the town. I moved away a few years ago but my heart is still out there on the prairies! Thank you to Katie and Andy for representing Manitoba so well, and of course you two for bringing a smile to my day! Cheers
I've only just recently started watching you guys and you've literally helped me through one of the toughest weeks of my life just by being yourselves, love yous❤
So sorry to hear you’re having a really tough week. It makes us so happy to hear that our videos can help you get through this!! Brighter days are coming ♥️♥️ we love you too!!!
Katie and Andy did a great job representing the great white north with this box of Canadian treats, can't wait to see part 2! Fun watching you guys try some of our favourite Canadian treats! 🇨🇦
Great video guys. I'm Canadian, but living in US for almost 14 years now. So cool to see some familiar things as well as new snacks I'm not familiar with. Alex, I'll start a petition so Hawkins will make you their Cheezies Ambassador. You'd be great! I'm with you Kate - I don't like beer because of the bitterness.
I always see Frank’s chips at Canadian Tire, and think “how can those be good?” Who knew a hardware store could make yummy snacks, but now I’ll have to pick some up to try since you guys liked them so much.
What an epic Canadian box! Can't wait for part 2! ❤🇨🇦❤ I'm from Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, and have seen most of these great products. (Yes, Alex, the Hawkins Cheezies are my fave, too!) I want to say how impressed I am with a Tomahawk brand chips! Wonderful to see the highest respect for the Indigenous artists' beautiful work and the fact that they acknowledge each artist on the packaging. Brilliant! I hope they expand across the country and I get to try them soon. Much love to you all! ❤❤❤
I cannot wait for part two, that was truly an epic snack and drinks selection courtesy of Manitoba! I’d just like to try it all but I’d settle for the ketchup crisps!
When you both liked those nacho cheese things from Dare I was literally thinking "I wonder if they sent them Dare cookie chips too?" haha. Those Dare cookie chips are amazing! They also have sea salted caramel and chocolate chip ones. I remember when they came out with those a few years ago and I think they actually won some award for being like "best new product of the year" or something like that.
Blackberry Clearly Canadian is one of the best drinks on the market. I used to drink the Wild Cherry in the 90's but after having the Blackberry I'm hooked!!! (TN, USA)
Frank’s is actually the house brand of a big hardware/automotive chain store here in Canada “Canadian tire” . Not only do they make snacks but they also make things like sponges, garbage bags, toilet paper etc ., and they all have funny sayings on them !!
I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Canada is part of the British Commonwealth, therefore many things in Canada are influenced by the UK. We use many of the same slangs and phrases as well. My grandparent immigrated to Canada from the UK in1907. Canada is a beautiful, and very large, country. Love your videos!
Pretty sure the Frank marshmallows are called "Frank struts his puff" and the first time I saw them I literally died of laughter 😂 also those cookie chips are new, and generally I don't like hard cookies that much, but I tried the peanut butter ones and they're divine 🤤
In Canada we also call our fries, chips. We order fish and chips here and get fish and fries. Ketchup is a very popular flavour here as well. You right about us being similar in some ways. Love and cheers.
Older folk in the Atlantic provinces I think use a bit more Brit speak, my family is from the maritimes(but I was born in Montreal, and grew up in Ontario) and my grandfather never used the term fries, only chips. I'm not sure why the atlantic provinces had more traditionally Britishness about them, I think it's because they were often settled more exclusively by Brits and Irish compared to Ontario, Quebec and the West which had more variation from the late 19th/early 20th century.
Pick a Pop used to have outlets in many cities in Canada - you could go there and pick any of their many flavours that you liked - they had a deal I think where 12 of them were a certain price. We lived in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and my dad would take us there at Christmas and Easter and we got to pick out 12 of the big bottles (think 2L size) and all through the holiday season we were allowed to open a bottle a day and drink it. It was the only time we were allowed pop - I was sad when they shut down but am super happy seeing it come back.
I adore clearly Canadian water I just wish It didn’t have so much sugar in it Lol Almost the same amount as a soda 🤷🏻♀️😆 They are selling Clearly Canadian in the US again too ❤️ Awesome video guys 🥰
I used to drink Clearly Canadian all the time but it disappeared. Now it's available again at World Market and Amazon of course. I'm going to get some more now that it's back. That was a good box and I'm excited that the sparkling water is back. Yeah! Have a good one.
What a great selection they sent! Living in Toronto I've only tried about half of them, I will definitely have to try the Tomahawk chips. So happy to see another Canadian box 😍
Part one of this box is epic and right up my alley minus the beers. All those chips/crisps looked amazing. Especially the Salt and vinegar chips those are my top favorite chips to get anywhere I go. I would do anything for a Canadian chips/crisps box. I have been wanting to go on vacation to Canada for a long time hopefully this next year.
Hello my name is Paul and I live in Belleville Ontario Canada home of Hawkins Cheezies. Just wanted to say my wife and I love your channel. We love Hawkins cheezies also.
As a friendly fyi, not being rude or anything, but using the flag pin in the middle of the poppy is frowned upon by the veterans since it's considered tempering with the poppy, which should have the black center :)
@@JustDance24 oh thanks for letting me know fellow Canadian! I will not do that anymore also I deleted the part of my comment that suggests doing that so no one else repeats it. 👍🏻😊🇨🇦
Oh my word... Clearly Canadian was hugely popular here when I was in high school. All the cool kids had it in their lunch. 😂 Mountain BlackBerry was my absolute favorite!! And no I wasn’t cool I was just fortunate enough to have it now and then. Hahaha!
Hi Kate and Alex. A great box from Canada. I love Clearly Canadian. Yes, you can buy it here at certain grocery stores here in the USA. I used to have in in high school and early college. Then, saw it a few years ago. So, happy it's back.
🦫 🍁 FAB box !! But sorry I am waiting for the SWEET one ! As I sit here unwrapping the small Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups !! The marketing for the Frank’s Crisps is adorable !! 🇨🇦 That surely is a beautiful flag ! Thanks Katie and Andy for the entertainment ! Love the pins also ! Blessings to you all from California. 🐿
Canadian here! someone needs to send you Poutine Chips! (crisps) I use to work for a company that produced spice blends from regular everyday spices, to chips spices for chip companies and even made the dehydrated soups for places like Tim Hortons, Subway and Boston Pizza. (As well as spice blends for sausages, burger patties etc.) the All dressed mix for any chip company would be a proprietary blend, of their most popular flavors mixed into one... with a few tweaks just for taste. Usually, Salt n vinegar, sour cream and onion, BBQ.
I've never seen the clearly Canadian pop, nor have I seen the mozzarella cheesies. I think that's what's so interesting about watching these, as normally there's products I'm not familiar with even being Canadian. Sometimes I think the snacks you get are more regional, you may be able to find them in other parts of Canada but you'd probably need to go to a certain store/place to find them. I've never seen Franks chips either, I looked it up and it's Canadian Tire store brand. I never fo to Canadian tired, like I go every few years maybe - so I just might not be that familiar but I've seen them as anyone else's homes either. Canadian Tire is a place where you get garden stuff, camping gear, furniture, appliances - so kind of funny they have food. As for what you'd get at the store - depends on the person/taste. It depends on what stores are local to you and where you commonly shop as well, as all stores have their own brands of products. It's much cheaper to buy store brand chips than Lays which are often 4 dollars a bag, but often they have sales like 2 for 6 dollars, that sort of thing. I imagine a lot of people are partial to Old Dutch, but actually I am not a great fan of their chips compared to other brands. I didn't grow up eating them - I think they became more common outside of western Canada in more recent years than back in the 90's/2000's. Growing up in the 90's(and 2000's) but I distinctly remember in the 90's my mom only ever bought Lays(and maybe hostess which they don't make anymore), and I never tried Ruffles until I was around 13 and became obsessed with their flavours. The brand I'd say is super popular in Canada is Miss Vickie's, and for good reason. They have some great flavours - like sour cream and sweet chilli, and their salt n vinegar is hard to beat. kettle Chips has some unique flavours too but their salt n vinegar is not as good.
Love it! This is amazing as a Winnipeger! So frank is the company our local home improvement store called Canadian Tire sells. I am not quite sure if they are all across Canada but I always pick up the a snack there. So good.
I live in Ontario, Canada, about an hour west of Toronto and I’ve never seen any of the things you tried today except the Doritos. I will keep an eye out.
So interesting! I'm just over the border in Buffalo, NY and we get a few of these items here. I've seen the Old Dutch brand here (chips only). I grew up loving Clearly Canadian drinks was very disappointed when they went away, I was so glad to see them again at my local grocery store! :)
I’m from America and I actually order clearly Canadian just the plain not flavored I have an obsession with clearly Canadian or topo Chico. I actually die to move to Canada.
Here in Massachusetts USA, I have bought Dare brand of the Maple Sandwich Cookies which are fantastic! Great box, and we've only seen half! Can't wait for Part 2!!
"Franks " is a brand for Canadian Tire stores!! Ive had all those flavors and just today i had the 'Feels Stuffed'...Love those and the dill pickle!! Im pretty sure Franks is right across Canada!!
Haven't seen Clearly Canadian since mid 80s at my High School Student Store. Usually got a Coke or New York Seltzer. I think the Clearly Canadian was more expensive.
Canada represent! Though gotta admit I only really feel nostalgic for Clearly Canadian. Sending love from Victoria xx PS - Thank you for the flag compliment! My favourite flag is the Japanese...very similar to ours :) PPS - That's a Crested Gecko and I have one too!
Country raspberry and the wild cherry were my favorite flavours. Glad they brought the pop back. I wish the company would bring back the Orbitz drinks too. Really miss those. We can get the clearly at all 7-11 stores here in Canada, plus some grocery stores will sometimes carry them too.
Oh it's so nice watching people who can actually feel smell and taste of food cause I've missed mine because of coronavirus 🥴 eating new products doesn't make sense anymore😪
I have only just found your channel and I am impressed with the send. Though I have not tried all of these, most are my favourite and the Doritos Ketchup are definitely the best! Americans do not understand how good ketchup chips are, but I think you Brits get it! Really enjoyed your video and will have to look into more of your videos. Thumbs up! Fun couple.
FRANK is a store brand from a chain Canadian store called Canadian Tire which is mainly a car parts and mechanics tools shop and also gardening tools and what not the size of a huge grocery store. Now they have their own snacks brand lol.
I’m canadian!!! I love when you get a box from Canada. I live in Alberta and never knew about those pic a pops, so cool. Also I used to drink clearly Canadian when I was younger (still like it now too) but it used to be bottled in the USA which I thought was funny since it’s supposed to be “clearly” canadian 😆 can’t wait for the second half!
There was a big clear beverage craze in the mod-80's / early 90's. Clearly Canadian, New York Seltzer, Crystal Pepsi. Everybody was coming out with clear beverages and then they just stopped. A lot of them came back in the late 10's but they didn't last. I remember finding a little bottle of New York Seltzer in a store and picked it up for nostalgia reasons.
What an AWESOME box!! Oh it makes my heart sick for going up to Canada 🥺 can’t believe it’s been over a year now that we’ve gone up. But boooy do I have some new fun stuff to look for when life opens back up again! Those Franks products, and the Dare stuff! So good!!! Hoping you both are having a great week, and we’re sending you all our hugs and loves! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘😘
It was sooo good! Really hope you can go back soon! 🇨🇦 you definitely need to take a list with you this time! The Frank products were so awesome, such a cool brand. We are having a good week thank you. Hope you guys are too 😘♥️😘♥️ 😘♥️ ps. Your box will be up very soon!!! Can’t wait for you to watch 😀😀😀
Clearly Canadian got its start at the Tillicum Hot Springs in Vernon BC, they started by just selling the flavoured water at the Hot Springs and eventually started bottling it. Shortly after, the hot springs themselves closed but they continued sourcing and bottling the water for a few more years after. I can't remember why they stopped the product, but the property was sold. As cool as it is having Clearly Canadian back, it sadly has nothing to do with nor do they source the water from the original springs.
Putting pickle chips on sandwiches (or sammiches if you prefer,) or on burgers is amazing as u get that pickle flavor that works great on burgers/sammiches plus the crispy crunch. Cheese chips can sometime also work to give u the taste of cheese plus the crunch, but not like pickle chips. Living near Detroit which is actually North of Windsor, Canada, I've had a few of these like some Frank's and Old Dutch, but it's always fun to see stuff from other countries here. ~Be Blessed
This looks like a very tasty box! Lots of chips; I love chips. I used to drink Clearly Canadian when I was in my late teens, early 20s. I used to live in Washington state, which is right under Canada, so it was pretty popular there :) Do you guys ever meet any of your fans that have sent you boxes to try? So cool it’s back!! You’ll have to get one to reminisce! It does look like it would be quite expensive
New York Seltzers were good.
They stopped making it but a few years ago a kickstarter was done to bring it back... my sisters jumped at the chance to get it again.
Canada represent! Though gotta admit I only really feel nostalgic for Clearly Canadian. Sending love from Victoria xx
PS - Thank you for the flag compliment! My favourite flag is the Japanese...very similar to ours :)
PPS - That's a Crested Gecko and I have one too!
All the chips looked delicious! ❤️
I'm in Newfoundland, Canada. We can only get Frank's chips at Canadian Tire (an automotive/hardware store)!
I'm from Michigan and so missed Clearly Canadian. BlackBerry was my absolute favorite along with the peach. I was so happy when they brought it back.
Mmm peach!!! That sounds delicious 🤤 so awesome they bought it back!
Country raspberry and the wild cherry were my favorite flavours. Glad they brought the pop back. I wish the company would bring back the Orbitz drinks too. Really miss those. We can get the clearly at all 7-11 stores here in Canada, plus some grocery stores will sometimes carry them too.
Treat of the week dance forever!!
As always!! I really enjoy your videos, it's a bit of relax time for me, greetings and blessings from Guatemala city Central America, hugs
Thank you Denise!! So lovely to hear our videos are a nice relax time just for you! Hugs
Oh it's so nice watching people who can actually feel smell and taste of food cause I've missed mine because of coronavirus 🥴 eating new products doesn't make sense anymore😪
Love it .. keep them coming ... roll on part 2
Yaay thanks Ian!
Thumbs up! Fun couple.
Love this! I tried to order a few of these snacks but most weren’t available to ship into the US💔
FRANK is a store brand from a chain Canadian store called Canadian Tire which is mainly a car parts and mechanics tools shop and also gardening tools and what not the size of a huge grocery store. Now they have their own snacks brand lol.
That’s so cool!!
QUE ONDA MI RAZA!!!!
Someone send them some more Mexican Candy !!
* To Try
Always fun.
Yay thanks Tricia 😀😀
Kate and Alex, that Doritos packaging looks a lot like the USA packaging used to look like in the 1980s.
So cool they’ve brought it back!
Manitoba recently brought them back. It was a thing when my parents were growing up in the 60s and 70s
Should be able to find them in your local 7-11's.
@@ralphvelthuis2359 cool, thanks! I will check next time I’m there!
They are amazing!! Pretty sweet but sooo good. You’ll have to try them if you find them. Haha how funny 😂😂😂
6:50 **Correction** Old Dutch expanded to Canada in 1954, always has been owned and operated out of MN, USA since 1934
Ahhh! I’m so excited to see this! I’m also from Winnipeg, Manitoba!
Yaaay! Hope you enjoy watching Lauren 🥰
Wooooo! My home town! If you two ever come to Winnipeg would love to show you some tasty spots!
So kind of you Kim! Thank you ☺️
There was a big clear beverage craze in the mod-80's / early 90's.
~Be Blessed
I have never thought about adding pickle chips to my sandwich. I love crisps on sandwich’s so I really need to try this!! Great thinking!
No way I’m from Winnipeg and it was very entertaining to watch the intro
Hi guys hope your both well great video guys xx
This looks like a very tasty box! Lots of chips; I love chips. I used to drink Clearly Canadian when I was in my late teens, early 20s. I used to live in Washington state, which is right under Canada, so it was pretty popular there :) Do you guys ever meet any of your fans that have sent you boxes to try? That would be a fun video to watch!... maybe a mix of several visits. Always enjoy your videos.
I’m laughing at the way you looked at him when he had the crisp
