Growing up, we always had orange pekoe the in the pantry. As far as I know, here in Canada, orange pekoe is our standard black tea. You can definitely enjoy it with milk (which is how I usually do)! Red rose and Tetley are the major brands here. I'm partial to Red Rose!

The packet of KitKats, Smarties, etc is what we call Halloween candy! Because Halloween and Trick or Treating is so popular most people don't give out full size candy bars (because it's more expensive and that would be a lot of chocolate) so you buy a box of minis from the same brand!

Hi Kate and Alex. I grew up in California in the 70s, so remember when Bubblicious was launched in 1977 and Hubba Bubba in 1979. And before that Sugarloaf soft bubble gum - which had so much sugar in it, the granules of sugar would crunch as you chewed it. To me, it always felt like these were an answer to Bazooka Joe bubble gum, and the crappy gum that came with Topp's baseball cards -- both of which were hard as rock and took a long time to soften in your mouth.

Will have to do you up a little "Newfoundland" box of local goodies. Probably very similar to British confectioneries, but should be interesting. We are Newfoundland and Labrador. Canada's most eastern province, an island of British ancestry considering we only left Britain in 1949. I wonder how much in the "sweets" world have carried over .....

I'm from Nova Scotia and people (little old ladies in particular) have had fist fights over tea! Red Rose tea and King Cole are the main "traditional" Canadian tea brands and it's one or the other. I'm a Red Rose guy, but my partner is British and will only drink Tetley.
Orange pekoe is a grade of tea. I believe only the top three leaves of the stem are called Orange pekoe, at least in Canada

Lol The chocolate ones are my favorite.

Tims coffee is best with milk/cream and 1-2 tbsp of sugar. Unless you’re crazy and like it black! That’s awfully bitter haha. But some people definitely do prefer it that way. Also, king cole (orange pekoe) is similar to breakfast tea/earl grey and is very lovely with milk and sugar as well!
