Thank you, I just bought one from Temu, and searched for videos on how to use. Your video was the first to pop up. Thank you for the demo, I got mine to seal, so happy. Again thank you.
I have been using one for about 1 month and have been very happy with it. I now have put all my dry staples into large mason jars and use this to seal after each use
Hehe... yes it isn't what people often think of overseas of it here 😅. But it gets super cold here down south and in the Ranges. It was 2°C last night!
Thanks for sharing. I may have to buy one of these. I have a manual pump jar vacuum sealer and absolutely love it. My pantry looks so much better with jars if my own grown dehydrated herbs. Also any store bought bbq rubs I put in jars and vacuum seal too its stops them caking and going hard. What's even better is if you store bulk herbs/spices when you use them you can just reseal it each time and everything has kept really fresh and strong smelling for me.
I love the idea of using it for our powdered good too. I hadn't even thought of that, as had been just using it for dehydrated veg and fruits mainly. Thanks for the idea 😀
We are just using the lids that have been previously used for canning projects. It's a great 2nd use for them and they work perfectly. They are a couple of brands. Ball and Forjars.
Excellent! I have a manual jar sealer, which is good, but this electric one would be a handy addition some day. I'll be interested to hear how it works out as you use it more.
I wonder if Darcy is referring to that change in pitch. You can definitely hear it increase when sealed. Im still not 100% how far I can push it though. I dont want to burn out the unit. But want to expel as much air as possible.
@@Bush_Edge_Homesteading_Aus I can also hear the pitch getting higher , I get nervous and always stop the machine around 20 - 25 seconds , jars seem to be sealed
❤❤❤❤ I just had this pop up in my feed the last 3 days in a row. I was also thinking 🤔 hmm wonder if it would work or not?? I did buy lids from temu but so I have lids for my dry stuff rather then using my good lids til I have enough used lids. They are great I’m going to do a test with them for a few of my goodies I cook today just one of each item to then see what the seal is like for ones I’m going to open in a week or two anyway. So if it fails I’ll have them in the fridge ready to eat now rather then later. Thanks for the push to give it a go!!
I purchased one from an ad on Facebook, not used it yet but my girlfriend has the same one and she has sealed a whole wall full in her walk in pantry of dried goods, they work well!
I actually filmed this one quite a while back, but thought I would share it whilst we were away. Its actually been a super hot streak here while we were away.
Been seeing these everywhere too! Thanks for testing it out Rach 😁 so what are some dry goods that it’s Not recommended to vacuum seal do you know? I vaguely remember something about high oil products like nuts shouldn’t be stored in anaerobic conditions.
Thats a super interesting question. And to be honest Im not completely sure on nuts. But when I buy our bulk almonds they do come in giant vacuum seal bags. This article provides some good general info. But for me personally, it is mainly used for things I dehydrate, like fruits and veg. I do be sure they are dried properly though if vac sealing. publications.extension.uconn.edu/2015/10/07/is-home-vacuum-packaging-a-safe-way-to-preserve-food/
I'm going to be getting hubby to make me a PVC pipe vac sealer that will take any size jar and even lug lid jars. It can be used with the vaccum hose from my food saver, but most useful to me is I will be using a brake bleeder to manually removevthe air. Great in time of power outages or just to save on electricity.

So lovely to hear this helped Diane.
It is a great unit for that price and still going strong 😀
I have been using one for about 1 month and have been very happy with it. I now have put all my dry staples into large mason jars and use this to seal after each use
I really need to get more big jars now like you 😀
I absolutely love mine!!!! I leave mine go the full time. You don’t need to push very hard to get it down.❤❤
They are a really good unit. Especially given how cheap they are too.
Great video. I don't think I've ever seen an Australian wear a winter jacket before, especially not indoors 😂

Thanks for the demo. What lids do you use )brand) and where do you get them from?

Thanks for sharing how it works. I’ve jumped in & ordered one.
Hopefully it works as well as the one we got. We have had it many months now and Im really glad I got it.

As I filmed this a while back, I now have had many months use with it. And it is excellent so far. Im really glad I bought it.
Awesome, I have been researching and studying these too, can’t wait yo get one too 👏
So glad it could help. I saw them for a while too, but also wasn't sure it could actually be ok at that price.
Mine is in the mail from Temu , but Darcy ( purposeful pantry ) said that you can hear when it is vacuumed sealed

It is absolutely incredibly effective for the price.
What a great machine! Looks so simple to use! Thanks for sharing Rachel, I might get one myself now! You look like you guys are cold there already?
I actually filmed this one quite a while back, but thought I would share it whilst we were away. Its actually been a super hot streak here while we were away.
Oh, that makes sense! It has been a very hot summer! I am looking forward to cooling down a bit!@@Bush_Edge_Homesteading_Aus

You are very welcome 😀
DID you use it for wet sealing - like jams/preserves, fruits etc etc
I only use it for dry storage. Mainly things I dehydrate.
Hi which one did you buy, could you please add a link.
