Good report. When I get back to the US, I'll get one of these. Storing in glass is preferred over plastic and to be able to remove the air like that is great.

Got my Jar Sealer a few weeks ago, it works great. I’ve used it mostly for storing bulk dry foods eg: beans, dry veggie stock mixes, etc. But my fav use is for work I prepare salad in a jar for about 5 days and the Salad stays so much fresher even my 5 day salad💕

Very practical and saves money by not wasting food, especially for small families or singles.

We buy the bag packages of prepared salad from the grocery store. We store it in the frig in vacuum sealed jars, and it stays fresh much longer. Thanks for the video.

Keeping our products fresh is priceless! I hate getting a package of rice or dry goods item out of the pantry to find it has that horrible rancid taste/odor, this should prevent that plus the jars are great in the pantry vs. original packaging.

We have one and love it very much. There are a few reports out there that the seal breaks in about 6 months, but my theory is they don’t let the sealer run until it shuts off. Also, you should always put the rings on them. It’s a great tool and you can do a lot of jars in just one charge! God’s blessings!

I sealed a piece of banana and it took 11 days before it started browning. I used it for fresh fruit, and lettuce with the same results. I think it was well worth the money. It’s also a lot more convenient than getting the regular air sealer out every time I want to seal a jar.

You might want to check out Airtender food and wine vacuum. It has a lid punch which makes a hole in your regular jar lid. It comes with a pump and stoppers to vacuum any jar and also wine bottles ;)

I like this product! I have one that is like a bicycle/basketball handpump and it needs the specific lids that go with it...not the basic canning lids. This rechargeable vacuum sealer is much better deal since you can use the regular canning lids. Very handy to keep dry goods fresh longer. Great idea with the avocado to keep it fresh! Thanks Chuck. Nice review!

There's versions with a small palm size pump that works in 2-3 pumps, much quicker than waiting 25 seconds.

@@V0S1N0 I have the handpump version and like it. The only difference is you need specific lids, not the regular canning lids.

This is a great device for preserving smoothies a couple of days in mason jars.
Use this along with a vacuum blender. After removing the air out of the blenders container and blend. Then transfer the smoothie or blended contents into a mason jar and pull a vacuum on it and will preserve a few days in refrigeration. The key is oxygen removal to reduce oxidative deterioration.

How do you remove the sealed lids without damaging them? I’m curious how long the lids will last, with possible daily removal. I like the demonstration and product, just have my questions. Thanks! Just looked at it on Amazon. It did state 20 seconds demonstrating the small lid. 🤗

I try to gently pull them off with my fingers, Daily removal / sealing will shorten their lifespan for sure, but lids are cheap!

Put a butter knife over the top of the lid on the edge so that when you are using your opener the edge of it is on the knife and not the lid as you gently pry up.

I just bought one from Amazon and it's now a VP06 . I don’t know why he keeps holding it. Once you push it down tight, just start it and walk away. Come back after 40 seconds or so, press the on/ off button and wait a second for it to release, then jiggle it off. The time required depends mainly on how much air is in the jar. A half filled jar will take longer than a 3/4 filled jar. I tap the lid to ensure it's down. If it pops off, then let it run longer next time.

I really like your new channel focus lately. The interviews with regular vegan/wfp people are awesome! your recipes are top notch as always. And this new product review is great! I know you will tell us if it's not that good. That's what sets you apart from so mnay tubers who just go after the money. Anyway just wanted to tell you these things. I guess the only thing missing is a React section! Haha! I could see you reacting to some crazy weird tiktok vegan recipe or something.

I wonder if you could blow up a balloon just a little, like an inch in diameter, place it in the jar and visually see when the majority of the vacuum has been achieved by seeing when the balloon stops expanding. Just one time to get a gut feel for how many seconds is needed.
