    I know you aren't a dermatologist, but you seem very well-informed and careful with your research. I have a condition called perioral dermatitis (which is basically red, inflamed, itchy skin around the mouth). I am 55-years old with very dry skin. My question: I am a bit lazy about products--how would you tweak your cleanser recipe for the minimum of ingredients for very dry, very sensitive skin? Thanks Honey---you're a peach!

    • @StephArizona
      @StephArizona  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, I have very dry sensitive skin too. I would try making a sample amount of this mixture to see how you like it. I would use equal parts of soy (or coconut if you're allergic) milk powder and oat flour. These are very gentle on the skin. Like you said, I'm not a dermatologist so if you feel you should speak to a professional see your dermatologist :) thanks for watching and commenting love! xx 🌷

    I tried tour cleanser and I can't go without it now! My skin improved a lot in a short time. I didn't have all the ingrédients in my cupboard at first but it did the trick with ayurvedic powders and orange peel powder until I bought all the supplies. Your recepy is perfect! Interesting video. Just letting you know there is a very popular natural face wash in Asia that only contain mung bean flour and job's tears powder (chinese barley). Maybe you can check those two out someday to see how they work for you. Mung bean powder is very detoxifying and good for oily skin. Joh tears are good at brightening and softening the skin; it is an ingredient often seen in high end Japanese skincare products.

    Sometimes I take a bath in oatmeal "milk." I buy knee-highs for this purpose(doesn't conjure up a pretty picture but oh, well). I put whole oats inside of the stocking, make a knot and then let it soak in the bathwater. It doesn't solve a problem, per se, but makes my skin feel really supple. It's about time for me to pamper myself, like this, again. 😄

    • @StephArizona

    I used to do cleansing powder too (during my all-natural phase haha) and they are pretty good. If you have oily skin, add some clay powder to it. Rice powder is also very good. These kind of cleansers may not work for people with moderate-severe skin problems. I don't do it anymore since I discovered AHA's, BHA's & acidic facial cleansers which is far more powerful for anti aging, acne etc. If you're not too serious about your skincare and don't have that much problems, try the cleansing powder! The best part is you can tailor it to your needs!

    Hey! I am making this cleanser today, I have successfully cleared my acne through bentonite clay/tumeric masks with ACV. Also made whipped face cream with lavander, frankinsense, organic mango (with added A C and E) shea, and rosehip oil..my question is why not add essential oils? They are working wonders for my skin..? Using honey for a cleanser in morning because the butter is so thick and tough to get off, but am excited to try your cleanser recipe! I am adding orange peel powder as well...my skin os ooooober sensitive!

I don't need that. So would I just leave that powder out? Also, since these are all naural products what is the shelf life? Hi Steph, I really want to give this cleanser a try because the ingredients sound amazing and I'm really into natural skin care. I was wondering though, how do you remove make up? I'm not a big fan of cleansing balms or oils. Does this cleanser remove mineral powder make up? Or do I need an extra step?

    • @gabriellecjl
      @gabriellecjl 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Iris, I'm not Steph, but I think you can take off your makeup with any kind of carrier oil such as coconut oil, sweet almond oil, olive oil or whichever you have available or think suits your skin the best (e.g. coconut oil breaks me out terribly so I stay away from it). You can also try to blend them ... It's really good and healthy for your skin. And to take it off just use a clean cloth with hot water (search for oil cleansing method).

    • @StephArizona
      @StephArizona  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Iris Eleonora Hey Iris!😄I love natural beauty routines too! I still use this facial cleanser every morning but I do not use it to remove makeup. Hey Steph, I was wondering what the difference is between coconut milk powder and coconut flour ? I have bought both, but the only difference I see between the two is that
    the coconut milk powder has added : Maltodextrin, vegetable protein, rice extract, calcium sulphate and sodium carbonate, but it consists of 82% coconut kernel extract. So my question is, isn't it then better to just use coconut flour, which is 100% coconut, instead? I noticed you used coconut flour in your diy exfoliator, I would appreciate if you could let me know why ? :)

    This looks like a great recipe, and yes your skin does glow, but for me personally, making this would be so expensive, I don't own any of those, and only really have access nearby to the oat and chick pea flour and fenugreek

    hii steph !! can we make a soap out of this recipe much easier ? what about adding aloe vera and honey or rice as i have dry skin and want it fair ?? what do you think ?? when to use them ? i don't know how to preserve them longer as i don't have time to make them regulary >>> and it's cold when i get them out of fridge and use them on my face in the morning so you think vitamin E capsules work like natural preservatives maybe ?can i keep it out of fridge if so ?? i have a bodyshop vit E oil can i use it as preservative ?

    when I make the dry version it comes out grainy and not as milky. I'm not sure if it's because I didn't use the soy milk powder and the fenegreek powder? it still makes my face very soft but it's not as milky in consistency.

      Hello again sweet lady :) Does this cleanser lift impurities from the skin? Also do you think using honey or aloe instead of water could work?

    • @StephArizona
      @StephArizona  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Yoga Pepper I find that for me it does. it also makes my skin very smooth. you can try adding charcoal to turn it into a face mask for really getting rid of impurities for a good clean. I think aloe water would work, not the gel though since it would be too thick and might not mix. good luck! 😄

    I've finally managed to gather all the ingredients, make and try this DIY cleanser. The result is...DEFINITE POSITIVE!! I LOVE THIS DIY SOAP-FREE CLEANSER AND WILL NEVER EVER USE COMERCIAL CLEANSERS EVENTHOUGH IT SAYS VEGAN AND ALL NATURAL. Please try this diy. I have been using it over 2 months and this gently exfoliate and moisturize my skin. And this is highly cost-effective. I could get all the ingredients : I used bentonite clay, almond flour, rice flour, oat flour. Especially this natural flours that can be used in cooking has natural oils in them which makes my skin extra comportable.I have tried several DIYs of Steph's and they all worked. gave me amazing results. Thanks Steph and people subscribe. her diy's and videos are completely worth it.

    I did one once wich was great with orange peel powder, Charcoal, chlorella, spirulina and a bunch of other stuff but it was rusted in two or three days, I may have thrown away the recepie because of it but I'll check out. It's really hard to preserve a product with water and powders. I always make a bunch of different masks ready to use troughout the week and the easiest to preserve are argile based.
