Regarding use with a Macbook: I recently bought this monitor. I have a Macbook Air M1 (2020). When I first plugged in the monitor to the MacBook with the USB-C cable, I wasn't able to use the webcam, the monitor speakers, nor the monitor microphone. After updating to Monterey, I was able to adjust the settings on the MacBook (in system preferences) to allow for use of the monitor's microphone and speakers, and the webcam now works.

My oldest screen just died, and this one will remove cable to power laptop, USB Jabra speaker/ microphone (which does have a good microphone sound and good enough for web meetings speakers), and replaces the webcam on the laptop which is over a screen that I don’t use so I am mister profile when we turn cameras on. Overall should clean up the area a bit and have a better camera situation. Amazing the 27” is $90 more than the sale price of the 24”.
I just got it today and using it with my MacBook Air with clamshell mode. So far it’s been working well! Thank you for your review it really convinced me to get it :)

Thank you for helping - for some reason I did not see how to use the camera. Missed that instruction. Push & pop up! Nice if I get the camera to work with my desktop. The sound automatically worked with my desktop using HDMI cable.

I couldn't find anything online and was wondering if anyone knows about this issue and has a solution. (I can add additional light source into the room, but on all other devices with cameras this isn't necessary.)

I have an old desktop and I can't figure out how to get the camera to work from it. I've had to use displayports to bypass my tower not having an HDMI port or a USB-C port

A good color is very subjective and the sky is the limit to have the most colorful and beautiful picture quality. But this monitor's color was adaquate for casual content consumption.
Do you think you could have a meeting with multiple people using this Monitor or is it for single use only. If you could use for a meeting would you need a additional speaker / Microphone

The dell computer should detect both speaker and Webcam for the monitor fine. It is just matter of switching it on the application you are using and making sure your OS detects it. As to the MacBook, I've had another comment saying it is not compatible.

I see what you are doing! I think you can connect USB-C port to the PC since Kamrui has it. I cannot confirm it as I no longer have this monitor, but I will be sire to test out this setup for the next conferencing monitor setup!

Software everything keeps working except the internet? So weird. any ideas? I tried putting the settings to never sleep when the lid is closed, etc. but can't seem to get it to work... thanks!
@JosephKim wifi! But hey we figured it out. It had to do with some drivers that needed updating on the laptop and power mode settings when the lid was shutting. Thanks for the quick response though.
My bro..well done.. liked.. need some help.. I'm getting some heavy discount for the 27 inch variant S2721HN for almost the same price as the 24 inch version. Except for the bigger screen it's got the exact same specs as the 24 incher, even the resolution stays the same. Do you think it a steal and should I go for it? Will be using for mostly text editing, reading, browsing and a bit of movies. My only concern is the ppi density. Is 27 inches too big for 1080p. Will I get pixelation on texts? I sit a bit farther away from most.. head is about 2 - 3 feet away from the screen.
I personally like 1080p smaller than 24". Because I can see the pixels on 24". So, at least in my books bigger isn't always better. But some people sit further, or have higher scales on OS. So, it is up to you :)
I've bought it but it's detecting upto 2.0 mp while taking picture with default camera app of windows 10. Whereas specs of this monitor is 5.0 megapixel IR camera. Any settings do I need to do?

Great Video. I am using it with a Microsoft 7. Windows 10. I will need to change the screen setting. Test out the camera and audio. Since the USB didn't work with my surface. Dell had a screen to attach the HDMI and then it worked great. I will reconnect the USB cable for any other features I might receive. Thanks. Dell could include a complete manual for the setup and connecting to a laptop.
Hi thanks for the review. I wonder if it has the power sync feature with compatible dell laptops. That means I can connect the laptop to it, and power up the laptop with the power button on the monitor like a conventional docking station. I don't want to open the lid only to turn it on and close it again every time.

too expensive for the price and not worth, for $400 + you can get a 4K 27 inch monitor with better specs. Leave the value part of it, just 250 knits peak brightness? what a joke also sad to see bad speakers

Displayport will only transmit display. You need USB-C connected to your computer to connect the camera.

What you can see in the monitor will vary on client's camera quality though? Sorry, I am not sure if I understand your use XD

Not sure if the daisychaining allows Webcam. If you get it to work, the webcams are dependant on whichever software you use.

Wow! I had not noticed this. Thanks for the catch. I think it is mono, and I missed out not spreading it out to stereo.

You have to 'switch' the camera from the app. Normally, the driver install should not be necessary.

That's very odd that it stops the internet. Are you using wifi? Or ethernet cable?

The method of using the Webcam is the same for desktops. Just make sure to connect it via USB.

Not really, I've heard the Webcam doesn't support Apple device.

Unfortunately, I am not aware of this feature on this monitor. It would certainly make sense to have one however.
Dell just released the S2722DZ. What's the difference between HZ and DZ? Also, are you able to get a hold of the S2722DZ?
Did a short search. The difference is the screen size and resolution. 27 vs 24 and 1080p vs 1440p.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to zoom in on the webcam with this monitor using Microsoft teams? The current view is too wide and shows too much of my background.
I know you can blur background on teams. Not sure how to zoom though.

Yes, you can. As long as your computer supports it.
this would be perfect for the m1 mac mini. Not just a monitor but webcam and speakerphone which is useful in this period of time

Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. I thought they would have standard Webcam drivers that works universal.

@@JosephKim Im using zoom and there is only an option to tick HD from what I can see. Ive ticked it and still really poor quality :(

Can I connect my keyboard&mouse to the USB port on the monitor so that I can control my laptop?

I connected my laptop to this monitor using USB-C. I plugged in my wired Usb mouse to this monitor.
But mouse does not work at all.
Do I need some kind of extra setting?

too expensive for the price and not worth, for $400 + you can get a 4K 27 inch monitor with better specs. Leave the value part of it, just 250 knits peak brightness? what a joke also sad to see bad speakers
