    as an old mail tech you should take the shine off your real nails too but only with a block buffer in the direction of the mail growth

    I'm new to home dip because the salon kept thinning out my natural nails by using a dremmel! Now they are thin and tearing (my natural nails are usually thick and healthy). Thanks for the tip to only buff new growth!

      It works that well? I've tried a few different ones including the Sally Hansen one ppl rave about & I wasn't impressed at all. I've been debating on ordering the Blue Cross one.

      The blue cross cuticle remover works really well. I like to use that and gently scrap the nail bed then use a glass cuticle pusher to finish removing any remaining cuticle

    I think I commented in the wrong place. Where do you get the cuticle oil? Does it matter what kind you use?

      It doesn’t matter where you get it from 🩷
      I usually get mine from CandiSkinCare - but they are temporarily closed right now. 🥲

  • @MysticEmber

    Thanks for your videos! Your last step was to put cuticle oil on… you do this before applying the dip powder? I would think that this would not allow the dip nails work well with a layer of oil put on right before. How does that work?

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t do my nails immediately after this - so I had to moisturize. But if you’re dipping immediately after, skip the oil.

      I'm new to your channel and relatively new to nail dip. Finding I'm doing everything wrong lol.
      I've glanced through lists on many of the videos and can't find the name or info in the cuticle liquid stuff you're using.

      I don’t soak off. 💖. I would use an electric file to remove the dip.

    Opinion on pumice stone versus glass cuticle pusher?

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      😅 I like them both. But I like the glass ones that have a sharp pointy end on the other side, so I tend to go for glass. They last longer and are easier to clean.

    I just stared doing dip nails and I’ve had them on for a week and they are starting to lift. Can you please help me and tell my why???

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It could be a variety of factors:
      - not prepping the nail bed/cuticles well enough
      - oily nail beds
      - not removing oils from nail bed before applying dip
      - applying too much base bond on the nail/flooding the nail and the dip gets stuck to the cuticle skins
      Those are usually the most common reasons. I used to have the same issue too; wouldn’t last more than a few days before lifting.
      For me, it lifted at the cuticles, so I had to work on improving my prep routing until it no longer lifted. Keep practicing whichever area you think might be the problem, and it will get better.
      And if all else fails, it’s very possible it’s the brands liquids you are using. Depending on the brand, some don’t stick as well to my nails as others.

      @@CaroleAnnette Is it still ok to use cuticle oil after prepping but before applying a dip mani if you clean the nail with rubbing alcohol first, or could the cuticle oil lead to lifting? Is it better to just wait until you've completed the mani to apply the cuticle oil, or do you apply more? Thanks Carole, love your vids

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I definitely recommend waiting to use the cuticle oil. 💖

    I was TODAY Years old (35 years) when I learned I have a proximity fold 💅🏻 and I cut it off EVERY time I cut my cuticles off🤦🤦😣😩😫😭

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your proximal nail fold is dried out, detached, or you just don’t like seeing it, it’s totally up to you to remove it 💖
      Just try not to cut live skin/tissue and you’re good 😊
