    Love this video! I love that you mentioned the peel base being latex or water-based. I am allergic to latex and it always slips my mind to make sure my peel bases are latex-free! :)

    Very helpful! The baggie method is best for me. The warm rice method (in place of using water) and all the others are not successful.
    I have a terrible time getting peel back (with out without clear powder atop of it) off my nail and I always suffer damage. I am in awe of those that can pop off their nails- like Marla Kris. I’m ready to give up on ünt because it’s such a pain to remove.

  • @sassypants5716
    @sassypants5716 ปีที่แล้ว

    I bought some of the Onyx remover, not realizing it wasn’t actually 100% acetone. I only needed to remove from one nail, so I just loaded up some paper towel and held against the nail for about 5 minutes, rubbing every so often. It came off pretty easy, just rubbing off with the paper towel.

    What grit on your hand file after drilling do you use? Thanks for this video!

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      100/180 grit. I use the 100 grit usually to file off the shine of the dip top coat - and the 180 grit if I’m close to my natural nail when debulking.

  • @OmneyasWISH

    I use tinfoil that has the pads on them and a heating pad. I have never actually put dip powder on my natural nails though. Always waterbased peel base over gel overlay

      Depending on the brand of peel base used, some last a long time (weeks) and some pop off in a couple days. Peel base isn’t something I’d recommend for longevity

    Hi Carol 😀I really enjoy your videos! I was wondering what your thoughts are on applying peel base onto your natural nails and then applying dip powder on top of the peel base?

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I didn’t have a good experience using peel base on my natural nails. It damaged them.
      However, I know others who have great success. If you choose to try it, I recommend testing on one nail, versus the whole hand.

    Which is your favorite way? And could you maybe do a video explaining the benefits of builder gel over a clear base dip powder? I see people do both. Thank you

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would love to do a pros/cons video!
      My favorite is soaking in acetone, but it’s not my skins favorite. So peel base is the most convenient for me.

    • @sarahglen1140
      @sarahglen1140 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would also really like to see a video of the pros and cons of each. Also, can you do soaking off with builder gel under? I know you mentioned it in your video, but does it affect the gel in any way?

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It definitely can break down and weaken the builder gel. The best way to soak off with builder gel on is using a hard gel (non soak off gel). That won’t be affected.
      But most builder gels are a soft gel which means they soak off and will break down with acetone.

    About how many days do you get with your peel base over builder gel?(in-between dip)

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If I do one coat, I can go a full week. If I do 2 coats, it varies; but my dip will chip or pop off in as little as 24 hours (not typical) to around 2-3 days.

    I love peel base, but my BG doesn’t seem to stay intact perfectly when I peel off. It got to where I was redoing my BG every time I did my nails and that made it take twice as long to do my nails each time.

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What’s your builder gel application process like?

    • @saraanderson8381
      @saraanderson8381 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For new BG, two coats of nail dehydrator, two coats of two coats of young nails protein bond or mias secret xtrabond, gel base (cure 60-90 seconds), builder gel (usually two coats curing 90 seconds each) then shape as needed. I then top my BG with gel top cure about 60 seconds, then one coat of peel base almost to the edges. When I dip, I cap the free edge on my final dip.

    Do you recommend any brand of e-file for beginners?

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not well versed in EFiles, but I recommend getting something super cheap first, and t comfortable using it and the bits.
      EFiles aren’t everybody’s favorite and the last thing you’d want to do is spend a lot of money on something you don’t end up liking and using.
      Practice on something cheap, and when you’re ready to, upgrade to a nicer brand.
