I was 11 when I watched this with my Dad and will never forget that match. I'm now the Dad and about to watch it with my 11 year old son, amazing.
    Thanks for showing Palace.

Crystalpal1978 Funny enough, I was 14 at the time, and was there with my Dad and friends ... can even see us a few times in the front row! And I’m now the Dad ... but have a 14yr old girl ... and she’s not into football (yet!) .... amazing how time has flown, next generation ... and wonderful memories! 👍

We drove up to watch it on my son's 18th Birthday. Does it get any better? Like many, remembering the 9-0, we were wary of yet another hammering. Then in an attempt to allay our fears, my wife made a seeming strange observation: "Well, the ball is round ..." (???). Most thrilling moment: Pembo's phenominal sprint right in front of us and the resulting goal.

It was the best FA Cup semi-final ever and one of my favourite commentarys ever! RIP to both John Motson who died earlier this year and Terry Venebles who died yesterday I believe

What a game. Just missed getting tickets but listened on the radio. Liverpool expected a walkover but the Palace did the biz.
Now about to watch it with my son and grandson. - me in Portugal and them in Sheffield. Long way from Holmesdale Road!
    EA - GLES. !

One of the greatest games I went to, got to steward a coach, so free ticket and travel. Atmosphere was incredible, hungover for days after this. Also stewarded the ticket queue for the final, another multi day hangover after that...

How noisy was Euston that morning?! Then all those balloons .... nervous about not getting battered 9:0 .... how cold was it out the sun in that main stand?! Then being relieved at half time to only be 1:0 down .... losing my half-time sandwich following Pembo’s crazy run! The highs and lows ... and high! Then quiet train home in disbelief... until seeing the CPFC coaches at Watford Gap! Then Passing Wembley ... and the noise back at Euston!! What a day ..... ❤️💙

I was studying at college in Worthing and not a member at the time so couldn't get a ticket, watched the game nervously (after the battering I got on the south coast after the 9-0 away) on a tiny portable TV (remember those) with a hangover after a student night out at the local - brilliant day, ended up down the pub again for about 3 days in my Palace shirt loving it :-)

I was 8 at the time...great memories. However heartbreak twice that year with the final and then the semi-final defeat with England in the WC. Great to see this coverage and see Wrighty so animated on the touchline and on the pitch before extra-time willing the lads on knowing he had a chance of recovery for the final. Legendary stuff!

But what a game and what a day this was.
Watching this again it certainly stirs up your emotions.

What a tremendous game this was, really soccer has gone backwards, the enjoyment, the natural instincts have vanished, all we get are players constantly diving and not putting their heart and soul into the game,I used to love soccer but now just have a passing interest . Also the atmosphere at matches back then was vociferous and electric, now it’s like playing in a cemetery.14>1 Amen.

This is a game that I will never forget.
We were outnumbered in support because of the ticket distribution from our own club, but one thing we did was be heard throughout Villa Park on the day.
Was living in the West Midlands area at the time, was amazed how many other Palace fans lived in and around the West Midlands, meeting up with lads from Stoke, Birmingham down to Coventry, massive parties in the bars until the late hours.
We were the underdogs, their support thought it was a formality just turning up.
Supporting Palace for 49 years, the old saying,
"You can change your wife or girlfriend, but you definitely cannot change the club you love"

This was the 1st game i ever watched and thought liverpool were slipping. They won the league that year but were creaking at the back dalglish quit less than a year later he knew they needed major surgery and didn't wanna hang around for the slide to come. Left it to others to sort and it took them nearly 30 years to do so.

A beautiful day. What did Motson say "Palace hadn't sold their allocation " .
I went to this game I was in the Palace end with the palace supporters. If you look at the first goal their are 50 or so Liverpool supporters celebrating the goal in the palace end behind that goal. During the game we got moved up the other end ; I was thinking we would be allowed to stand with the other LFC supporters... in fact our names taken then shown out the ground . You can see at various points the police escorting fans along the sides past the benches ; after the 1st goal you can see that. I ran back round from the far end where I got shown the door back to the Palace end. I said to the gate I was late... he said I can see your liverpool shirt under you top. I said ok... I promise to be discreet. So he let me back in. Watched the whole game with the Palace supporters 🤣😱😭😭. What a game. Of course Palace celebrated wildly the end me and a mate were clapping politely haha they must have realised we were Liverpool fans. A lesson learnt ... only go to a game and be in your end. But if the fa (yet again) allocation had been a bit more (palace didnt sell 2000 tickets) then issue resolved. A few years later I met Steve Coppell in covent garden ... he didnt have work at that time. Gardening leave.. I asked him what he had planned ... nothing he said. On the way home on the train ... Coppell new manager of .... haha why didn't he tell me. Ok... in advance waiting for the abuse thanks ynwa well played Palace amazing game you deserved to win the cup. Great honest hard working strong team well organised. Thanks for sharing the game first time I have seen it on tv.
