    I have a few of the same cars (2 XC90’s and an F80 M3)-both models are surprisingly well suited as daily use/family oriented vehicles. Will be installing this hitch soon as a much more cost effective alternative to the factory optioned (powered fold-out) model. Great video as always, excellent walkthrough with just the right amount of detail. Well done, Tommy.

      Tommy-any idea how many bikes this will support? Surprisingly, the factory powered fold-out hitch is only rated for two.

      @@TommyLGarage From what I’ve read, Class 1 hitches can handle up to two bicycles (70 lbs), and Class 3 can handle up to five (150 lbs). Different load factors than simple towing. Have reached out to the manufacturer for additional clarification, will update.

      @mpower265 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TommyLGarage Verified w/manufacturer. They don’t publish Class type load ratings for their hitches, but said their product is comparable to the Volvo factory unit in terms of maximum tongue weight and towing capacity. The maximum suggested number of bicycles using their hitch is two.

    Tommy- what does volvo control module provided with the Stealth Hitch do? Is it providing capability over just T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector that I would install with a Draw-tite hitch? I was told the dealerships package (an auto-foldout hitch) and included software would control some aspects of engine performance ie. ties in to a trailer stability assist system.

    Does the Stealth Hitch wiring harness come with two connectors at the receiver end? The genuine Volvo harness I got (to go with a Curt hitch) has the standard 4 prong electrical connector and the round connector in one housing but also has a smaller connector which I believe goes with the OEM drop-down hitch to tell the controller “I’m clicked in place and good to tow.” If it doesn’t, I’m curious how they bypassed this since your kit has the same genuine Volvo controller.
