  • Hello and welcome back to another Trip Report! On this flight, I'm showing off another Main Cabin experience onboard the Boeing 717. While I generally have had pleasant experiences onboard this aircraft, I discovered on our flight from Atlanta to Madison that there is a limit for how long I'm willing to spend in a seat with as little legroom as I had. Although it was a poor amount of space, I had a great experience with our crew! They may be one of the best I've ever had on a flight. The flight attendant serving my row hooked us up with extra snacks, and they were positive from boarding to deplaning. It definitely was the "Delta experience," which is something I've come to expect with them. Unfortunately, this is the last Trip Report I have for awhile, as I haven't taken any flights beyond this one here. Still, keep an eye out for some content to keep coming out. Until then, thanks for watching and have a great day!

I flew on the 717 from ATL to MSN in July 2021. I traded my 1st class seat for seat 25AB. I had the row to myself. I wanted to make a video of the flight back by the engine. I'm a COS passenger and I didn't mind the flight time. I was all too happy to be there.

Seat pitch really boils down to how long your leg are. I am 6ft 6 and Amanda and i sit i 27A/B on the 717 and i fit just fine. No knee issues at all. Then again i believe most of my height is in my torso. My Dad is about 4 in shorter than i am but my mother says his in seam on his pants is longer than mine. That is why i think that.
My dad work for Ozark and we both worked for TWA so the dc9 was my favorite aircraft. So i try to fly the 717 every chance i get.

The 717 was basically a modern reset to the old DC-9-30. I love these planes.

Delta keeps those 717s alive. They lease about 70 of them from Southwest, who only fly 737s now.
And you're right. No room in them. I try to avoid them along with CRJs. But sometimes you just can't get around it..

The 717. Has been a great aircraft for its time. The A220 is newer aircraft an should be better. Time will tell. The A220 Needs to overcome its engine problems and hold up as good as.a 20yr old 717. As far as i am concerned the Delta 717 are alright
