The 2024 Honda Prologue Elite Is Proof That Honda Is Ready To Get Serious With EV's

  • While #Honda has always been a leader among hybrid vehicles, the company has been very late to the party when it comes to fully electric production cars. Vehicles like the Fit EV and Clarity EV were built in limited numbers for certain states and just had abysmal range numbers. For 2024, the new #HondaPrologue changes all that with a dedicated EV platform and up to 300 miles of range. While the bones of this car are shared with the excellent GM Ultium platform, expect to eventually see a Honda designed EV show up by 2025.

It's funny the first thing people complain about is that it has GM components without even giving it a chance. Honda worked with GM, Toyota worked with GM and BMW, Nissan worked with Mercedes, Ford worked with Jaguar and Mazda. 90% of these companies collaborate with one another.

Agreed. I think that Honda knows what they’re doing, and I’m sure that Honda and GM will work together closely to ensure that everything is in order. I’m rooting for Honda and GM to ensure that this is successful, along with the ZDX.

I’ve never been a gm fan always been a Honda fan more so. Never would consider a gm car cause the reliability isnt good compared to Honda generally speaking as well as the interior design, quality and lack of refinement. However gm is killing it with the EV and new designs like the new traverse which is worlds better than the current pilot. Honda made a good choice with going with Gm for starting out their EV journey.

BMW and Mercedes are not even in the same universe as GM and Ford. Haven't seen a Geo Metro in years. Jaguar and Mazda haven't fully recovered from the damaged caused by Ford.

Its just the typical journalism snobbery that goes on. GM has done a great job overhauling many of its brands. The Ultium EV architecture has been received very well. And I for one am glad to see actual "switchgear" vs hiding everything in a stupid oversized screen.

I'm a current Bolt EUV owner which I absolutely love. With that said, when I'm shopping for a next generation EV, which I definitely will be, I have always been a "GM guy" but the Honda BY FAR is a more attractive option than the Blazer EV. The Blazer isn't even a consideration for me mostly because I find its 'Camaro inspired' styling "gaudy" looking, whereas the Prologue looks more upscale. Something like this just may be what makes me jump to another automaker based on its styling. Disappointed with the direction GM's been going in with their newer EV's, especially pricing.

I actually think this is a great thing. The number one thing that keeps me from Honda/Acura is the terrible paint quality they appear to have. I see more Honda / Acura vehicles with paint pealing / clearcoat rubbed off, than any other vehicle out there. Maybe the paint will hold up longer on these since GM is manufacturing them. Also, this is reminding me of the old Honda Passport from the 1990s that was really an Isuzu Rodeo. For some reason, back then I preferred the Honda over the Isuzu - just seemed like a slightly more upscale version.

Secondly why do car companies only include auto down? Who only rolls up the window halfway. If anything it makes more sense to have auto up then auto down.
Third, the color does look beautiful. The Acura ZDX looks good too but I’m glad to see some new colors offered.
Lastly why is the Passport pushed off until 2025? The Ridgeline and Passport are desperately needing an update.

I will be going electric in a few years, and I am attracted by Honda's quality. I find the nose a bit bland, but overall it is handsome.

It's good looking and I want one, but I still want my phev. This or the id7 could push me to an ev. Hope they will give us a forest green or navy blue color but they probably won't.

Thank you *gm* for doing this for Honda. This is hands down the only Honda product I’d even consider, even over the ZDX.

What a strange thing to see Honda use a GM platform.... we'll see in time how it turns out.

Hopefully Honda’s quality hasn’t diminished from partnering with GM that isn’t known for theirs. As good as the Prologue looks, I couldn’t imagine paying nearly $60k for a longer ranged model compared to other EVs that have released and for a Honda at that.

All of the little things about GM that I don't like, are present here. All of the things I like about GM are also here. But I'm not sure the good outweighs the bad for me. I think the ZDX will be the one to go with given the additional features and quality.

Nice car but too expensive..this country loves keeping people in crazy debt. It’s too expensive b/c having an electric car shouldn’t be a luxury if they are being built to help “save the planet.”

Odd that it doesn't get any access to supercruise, even as an option. I prefer the long and low roofline look like this, even though it sacrifices total cubic feet of space I'm never stacking things in to the ceiling in my vehicles so length of that space matters more.

They saved Super Cruise for the ZDX

@@patrickjames07 I know, and I don't think that was a good decision. I'd think different if the lack of that functionality ended up in the car being cheaper, but it really didn't.

About time Honda came out of EV. Honda should come out with their own EV and not partner with other companies. I still remember, Honda partner with Isuzu SUV??? That was a big failure. i bought one and that was the worst suv ever owned. i can see the same thing with Honda and GM.

It’s the best looking Honda. I haven’t liked the design language for the other Hondas lately. Although the CRV Sport is pretty nice looking.
