Another magnificent and flawless piano concerto by Mozart. This concerto is one of my favourites for many reasons. The introduction is exciting and celebratory. Love the trumpets and drums, it's a thrill to hear the drummer hit the drum skin hard before the piano solo entrance. The cadenza of the first movement is one of best of all the Mozart concerto cadenzas. It's dramatic, powerful and adventurous. Funny to read those nonsensical remarks by Hutchings and Girdlestone. Those old fashioned writings make no sense at all. It took me a little while to get used to the fade away ending of this concerto. Not a loud ending like the concertos 21 and 25, also in C major. The companion pieces, concertos 11 and 12 are equally great. The three concertos in this set are glorious in every respect. Don't know which one is best. But that's the way with Mozart. It's all so good!
Classical music, with its symphonic grandeur and delicate chamber pieces, is a testament to the limitless possibilities of human creativity. The works of composers like Brahms and Debussy are like sonic sculptures, chiseling emotions and narratives into the air. Each performance is a celebration of the extraordinary artistry that defines classical music.
This is being played on Tuesday in the church of St Martin-inthe-Fields. Would have been fantastic if it were being performed bt Brendel and Marriner but sure concert will be wonderful with choral works also by Mozart and Poulenc
Genius is born - no doubt about that. (At the same time it needs sustainable nurture not to fade into oblivion, though some geniuses like Beethoven have managed to beat all odds to fulfill their heavenly mission).

I am asked to: "Respond to this video". I have no words that can add to this masterpiece.

The Best.
Not happy about the ads that interrupt in the middle of this beautiful song 😡.

Is a genius born or made?
+Aron Tesfay both
Mozart is born, and Beethoven is made.
It grows like a tree. Most people are like neglected trees, the ones who aren't neglected we call geniuses.
Genius is born - no doubt about that. (At the same time it needs sustainable nurture not to fade into oblivion, though some geniuses like Beethoven have managed to beat all odds to fulfill their heavenly mission).
