With the recent price raising of the Vortex and the price drop of the AX-09, I felt like it'd be nice to compare them, because they have very similar specifications.

Pink and the Keytar Cat is a channel that's not above putting a bunch of words in the description to make it show up in more feeds. I'm Pink, and MIDI the Keytar Cat (Midnight) is the Keytar Cat. #AdoptDontShop, btw. I own a lot of keytars and I want to get more. I review keytars, keytar related gear, explain what MIDI controllers are in p much every video, have pink hair, and have a cat who sounds like she's complaining all the time.
Contrary to what everyone thinks, I don't think you're stupid if you bought the Sonogenic-500. I don't like it and I don't think it's worth the money they're asking for, but that's a subject for another video. Actually, I've made five other videos about it.
I theory I also teach music theory. I haven't done that in a while, but maybe I'll get back into it.

If you would like a cat like Mid, please go to your local shelter and ask for a cat with giant feet that sometimes pees everywhere just because she's bored. I actually have another cat that looks exactly like Midi, so I'm pretty sure her model is still available on the secondhand market.

To answer the question everyone has, I currently think the best beginner keytar is the Yamaha shs-300 Sonogenic, followed by the Roland Lucina, then the Alesis Vortex. My favorite keytars of my collection are the Ax-Edge, the Yamaha KX5, the Yamaha SHS-10, and the Behringer MS-1, in that order.
My mom controlled a lot of the music I listened to when I was a kid, so now my musical tastes are making up for what I couldn't listen to in high school, so I'm SUPER into The Get Up Kids and secretly want to make music that sounds like From Under the Cork Tree, but I mained in keytar so that's going to complicate stuff.
Don't forget to wash your hands and check if you're on 4G or WiFI regularly. Adopt 20 cats and 50 keytars, dye your hair pink, and then snort lithium until you throw up.

Actually, you know, instruments are played by humans. So, if your instrument has a secret box where you can store your essential stuff, this definitively matters. I like how Pink actually demoed this. Its very entertaining, I like how she did it. 5 stars for that!

I could've sworn they discontinued the D-Beam when I got my white AX-7 in, like, 2004? Had no idea Roland liked the concept so much they kept implementing it almost another decade later. You learn something new every day!

MIDI was standardized in 1982, not 1992 :) Apart from that, nice comparison, I love my Vortex Wireless 2!

My favorite Android synth is Sunvox. It may seem quite complicated, but you can get great sounds from it.

Thanks to a combination of lockdown, recovering at home from a health thingy, your channel, and some timely bargains on Ebay and Facebook; in the space of less than a month I'm going from having no keytars (despite having too many guitars and keyboards) to having a Lucina, an SHS 200 and a Rockband keytar. I'm looking probably going to order one of those pianoboxes before the sun rises ...
Which is best in modern days ?
Have you tried comparing the Lucina VS the AX-07 connected to a Sonic Cell or Roland 707 beatbox Sound Module?
I often wonder if the sound module will have the same expression as the Lucina when playing the same sound. Eg. Cosm Lead/Cosm Guitar. The AX-07 can have wireless MIDI when using Widi Bluetooth connector. But I'm not sure if one can make all the guitar noises with the other, even with the same sound

Lucina is aesthetically nice and I see the utility on the go… but yikes no sustain? T__T
You can set the mod bar (and I think d-beam's assignable button?) to control sustain, but it doesn't persist after turning off and you have to reset it every time you turn it on. It doesn't work super great as sustain, either.
14:08--do the keybed touch sensitivity settings not affect the transmitted MIDI data?
Not really sure what you're asking? The keybed transmits velocity via MIDI, but I know you're asking a more specific question than that and I don't understand what it is right now. Can you rephrase to accommodate my brain fart
