@iKeyboard15 Having 37 keys doesn’t really make much difference in performing solos, especially since you have the “Octave Up/Down” buttons so easily accessible. The 37-key keyboard allows Lucina to be very compact and light, without sacrificing the instruments playability. If you find yourself aching for more control, flexibility, and keys, check out the AX-Synth!
Wow!! been going to Jam nights and ONLY guitarists getting up, so I'm gonna get me one of these then start jamming as I'm too old to learn guitar and didn't want to carry around my 88 key roland piano. great product this genre is going to take off big time I think.
@NuclearDanceScene Absolutely. The Lucina can be used as a USB MIDI controller for software on your Mac or Windows based computer. Moreover, the Lucina can be used to control any external MIDI instruments or modules with its standard MIDI Output. Don’t forget though . . . the Lucina has its own built in sounds based on the acclaimed Roland Fantom-G engine. You may just find yourself sticking to the Lucina sounds - they sound fantastic!
@NizamiShikhmammadov You can download the Lucina Owner’s Manual from the Roland website. The Audio Player features are explained on pages 16 and 17. By referencing these pages, you can see that while holding the [AUDIO PLAYER] button you can press the [INC]/[DEC] buttons to select the desired song. The Lucina displays the first three characters of the file name, which enables you to select the correct song.
@greendudegp Absolutely. Lucina has a USB connector, allowing it be a MIDI controller for your computer. Moreover, Lucina has a MIDI Output, allowing it to be used as a MIDI controller for any external MIDI devices or instruments.
@AcousticBuckeye Yes, the Lucina has a standard metronome that can be set to many different time signatures. To clarify, the “Count In” feature plays one measure of the metronome sound, at the set time signature and tempo, to count you into a song that you are performing or learning.
Hi Adrian, Carl McLaughlin from Kamloops here, just got off the phone with you Re: BK-7M.We all really need a sound demo using a regular electric or acoustic guitar and using bass pedals to trigger the unit.I hope you can do that in the near future..Hope you had a great holiday..Cheers
Best Lucina video this far... all the rolands own video are either bad quality or just so big fail (all those children dancing all around). This shows the true quality of sound of this thing and also shows the Black Sparkle in the true light... and WOW it is looking so COOL! :P
@VocalDomain The only difference between the white and black sparkle Lucina is the colour. The price is different due to special sparkle paint job and the glossy nature of the finish. Pricing will also differ depending on the price set by your local Roland dealer. Regarding effects pedals with the Lucina - the sky is your limit! Let your imagination go wild. Use any type of pedal that you want - there are no rules!
I can't decide what I want to get. Either an AX-09 or an AX-Synth. I know the 09 is like 700 bucks cheaper, but I like the extra keys the Synth has and also the appearance... P.S. You must have taken plenty of music classes and have had 15+ years of music experience to be able to do improv that well!
To anyone who is willing to help out a newbie: I used to own a Yamaha DGX200 and used it for music sequencing through FL Studio and Project 5... anyway, I love the way this instrument sounds and wanted a suggestion on a symthesizer I can get for my computer-- I don't play live so I am mainly interested in controlling that kind of sound in producing music... any ideas?
This might be a dumb question, but are there keytars (by Roland hopefully) with more than 3 Octaves? The black definitely looks less chessy then the white cover - it looks too retro-plastic for my band lol. I saw this model and am just wondering whether it is the one for me. My other question was "can this replace a bass guitar if need be" which you already answered. Looks awesome! Great demo, Thanks Ashwin
@rolandcanadaltd thanks it was very important i neeeded information so ..BEING now in Baron resort as a musician Egypt.i will wait when Lucina will reach Cairo branch regards nicky
@hyphz There’s no real technique to it. I’ve never been worried about the Lucina disconnecting from the strap and falling. As for the strap peg on the back of the Lucina, it’s a comfort thing. Personally, it’s more comfortable for me to use the strap peg on the back than the one on the end by the mod bar controllers. If anyone is worried about the strap disconnecting they could always purchase and use a pair of good old strap locks, the inexpensive plastic strap locks work perfectly.
Can you confirm that there is a built in metronome. I read the manual and it refers to a count in/metronome. I'm hoping you can verify that as you practice scales for example that you can practice to a metronome. It's just not 100% clear to me after reading the manual. Thanks
What are the differences between the lucina and the synth besides the looks and size. Like are there new sounds and a drum machine or is there extra functions that the synth doesn't have?
Do you think there is any way I could get the pack of those AX-09 presets for a Sh-201? I really like the crisp, newer sounds on that, I'd love to freshen up a SH-201 with those sound presets.
Can You please tell me what's the differеnce between lucina white and lucina black sparkle?? it's only color or has some other differences?? Thanks a loot see ya
Hey Question. is there/can you get some form of a Foot Switch to facilitate easy Sound changes for when you want to say use multiple sound in one song?
I'm a GUITARIST who hasn't played Piano in years, and I want one. Does it come with its own synth like the AX-Synth (which I guess is the AX-08?) or is it just a controller like the AX-07? did the AX-01 through AX-07 have their own names like the Synth and Lucina?
Brilliant playing!!! I have just bought one of these and am struggling to understand some aspects - for example at 1 minute into video he is playing an organ sound but the preset button on mine is labelled Violin or Strings/choir. At 1 min 22 he plays classic organ but the preset on my 09 is labelled trombone/Brass w winds.... 2mins 19 classic guitar but preset lit up is not the guitar preset - please can anyone help? Thanks.
Hi there, I am considering buying this as my first keytar but I wanted to ask if this would be ready to go out of the box in terms of plugging into my PC for recording? Thanks!
@iKeyboard15 I recorded the audio from the Lucina and my microphone to a Roland VS-100, which has the ability to record audio directly to an SD or SDHC card without the need for a computer. I replaced the audio from the camera with the audio recorded from the VS-100. No processing was done to the audio. What you hear is all from the Lucina.
Are those the only three octaves or can you program it to make the octaves higher/lower? On my current keyboard (has like 5 octaves) I like using the lower ones, all the vids of the Lucina I've seen seem to just be higher pitched sounds.
I've heard that composition before as well though. Not saying you didn't come up with it on your own, the melody just sounds HIGHLY familiar when executed with that instrument.
I want the Lucina, but I want that guy playing it to be in our band more than I want the keyboard. He's amazing!
One of the best instrument demos I've ever seen. Great job Adrian!

so basically only piano skill required for all type of instrument? freaking cool!!
Wow!! been going to Jam nights and ONLY guitarists getting up, so I'm gonna get me one of these then start jamming as I'm too old to learn guitar and didn't want to carry around my 88 key roland piano. great product this genre is going to take off big time I think.

Wow! That thing sounds great! Great demo!
Awesome demo man. Thanks!
This Keytar looks awesome , Really Love the sound you are demonstrating
Nice to watch & listen to a good product overview. Beautiful playing to show the sounds off in the best way. Thanks.
I loved this thing more than the Alesis Vortex, tough i am planning on buying both right now

His skill make the synth sound more good
Thats looks beautiful, I was tempted to get one when it was white but now i seen it shining black! I fell in love with it!
@AcousticBuckeye Yes, the Lucina has a standard metronome that can be set to many different time signatures. To clarify, the “Count In” feature plays one measure of the metronome sound, at the set time signature and tempo, to count you into a song that you are performing or learning.
This has to be the coolest keytar EVER!!!
OMG!!! pipe organ sound is just awesome!!!!!
me encanta este teclado
Oh my GOD that electric guitar sound!!!
Hi Adrian,
Carl McLaughlin from Kamloops here, just got off the phone with you Re: BK-7M.We all really need a sound demo using a regular electric or acoustic guitar and using bass pedals to trigger the unit.I hope you can do that in the near future..Hope you had a great holiday..Cheers
Great DEMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I enjoyed!!
i came here cuz i accidentally clicked on keyboards at guitarcenter, com and i saw this and had to check it out and now i want one!!!!!
one word: wonderful :)
This is the most epic thing ever, next to the Clavinet
Best Lucina video this far... all the rolands own video are either bad quality or just so big fail (all those children dancing all around). This shows the true quality of sound of this thing and also shows the Black Sparkle in the true light... and WOW it is looking so COOL! :P
great demonstration...now if i only had ur skills!
This keyboard is sick! Not only that, but it comes at a decent price. I'm getting this soon for sure, hoping it's good for live performance!
sounds like the intro to Barbie Girl - Aqua... thanks a lot now I have it stuck in my head. Come on Barbie let's go Party!
Roland Keytar Lucina is awesome

I have mine, but it's a pitty in Brasil it's so expensive! However, I'm glad for having it!

@DrumPatternz Yes, that is a Roland DR-HS5 Headset Microphone.

only 3octave with cool sound effects.,nice dude! \m/
@Muns92 well 2 people disliked it. It's because they don't have arms to play it or shoulders to hold it though.
@rolandcanadaltd so you must have a amplifier or headphones to hear the sounds
Oh my lord-y lowd god of all that is holy shit that's azafruitilishusly amazing
Does it work well as a Traditional Synth (on top of a table/desk). seems like a really nice synth. how well does the vellocity sensitivity work?
@igorcesax The only differences are:
(a) the color
(b) black came out later
(c) 100 dollars
QUE SONIDAZO LA PUTA MADRE QUE ME PARIO!!

People tend to say that about Angus Young and Steve Tyler, too. :-) And sometimes, even Mick Jagger...
Sick that !
i desperately want that.
@rolandcanadaltd thanks it was very important i neeeded information
so ..BEING now in Baron resort as a musician Egypt.i will wait when Lucina will reach Cairo branch
regards nicky
Is there any way i can put two sounds at once on this keyboard like the left half is a Pad and the right half is a piano?
you're a great keyboard player!

Is it possible to control the High pass filter with the ribbon instead of the way that is demonstrated?
while rocking out, Have you ever accidentally hit one of the program buttons since they are below the keys and not above?
How do you safely play the Lucina with two hands while on the shoulder strap? Is it to do with how you're using the secondary strap mount point?
Does this require a sound synthesizer and is there a headphone jack so I can practice without disturbing others?
It has its own sound synthesizer, L/Mono + R outs and a headphone jack.
holy shit the impro 1:44 and 3:12!!!

Is that sound direct from the instrument, or from an amp?
Hi there, I am considering buying this as my first keytar but I wanted to ask if this would be ready to go out of the box in terms of plugging into my PC for recording? Thanks!
is the black sparkle have different settings then the white one
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!
Whats the song he played at 2:09
is there an option to keep the sustain in the sounds automaticaly???
@rolandcanadaltd what type of amp? Does it come with a cord to plug it in? Would a regular guitar amp do?
@1:50 is that a song cuz that's pretty badass
What's the keyboard in the background?
good.
"take you back"
WHAT WAS THAT SONG
I've got a question. Does AX-09 have it's own sound module? Or is it necessary to connect it?
All right guys so I got the AX-09 at 50% off at Best Buy! :D $300!!!
@HECTORTRUKE Hi! We've sent you a message with the answer to your questions.
Thanks!
can it be used as a midi controller with fl studio, protools, cubase or any other windows based D.A.W.?
@TrueDragonForceFan10
Hi! We've sent you a message with the answer to your question.
Thanks!
i'd like to hear someone try the sanity not included theme with the distorted guitar mode
@iKeyboard15 I recorded the audio from the Lucina and my microphone to a Roland VS-100, which has the ability to record audio directly to an SD or SDHC card without the need for a computer. before I start notating what that bass line is at 2:34 , does it already exist somewhere so I don't waste my time?
Thats what i'd like to know
Are those the only three octaves or can you program it to make the octaves higher/lower? On my current keyboard (has like 5 octaves) I like using the lower ones, all the vids of the Lucina I've seen seem to just be higher pitched sounds.
1:44 BEST
does the lucina have an accordion setting?
everything my keytar can do!
Are all these sounds built in? strait to my amp? or do i have to use more sound effects/ pedals etc
I've heard that composition before as well though. Not saying you didn't come up with it on your own, the melody just sounds HIGHLY familiar when executed with that instrument.
what cords would i need to play this with a guitar amp?
this question is a bit stupid but do u have to know piano to play keytar?
Does it have an acordion?
heey can I know what the song called at 1:32 you responded
send a message back
are there weighted keys?
😍🎵🎶😍
What is better the Lucina or the Korg rk-100s
Try both!
Is that a song @ 1:50?
what sound name is 1:50
+Patryk Gładkowski 1980`s classic synth sound I`ve heard it described as
my dad just bought me one
