Framing an Art Canvas WITHOUT Using a Frame!

Greetings!
Thanks for taking the time to view this video. Today's project is a demonstration on how I framed a canvas without using any frame.
Taking some odds and ends of my crafting supply gave me the components needed to create an elegant textured frame directly on the canvas itself. Take a look and hopefully this will inspire you to try it yourself and in addition, save lots of money on traditional framing expenses.

What a brilliant idea. Thanks for sharing your tutorial. I'd say that the end result looks more stunning than if I had my canvas framed at a professional framer's shop. I mean, they are good at it but this alternative way of "framing" your canvas makes this frugal painter have a big smile! Thanks a lot.

This is BRILLIANT you are AMAZING ! I can’t believe I didn’t think of using my poly clay ! (I make jewelry ) I can’t wait to try this. I was gonna go to the thrift store and buy vintage frames but they are still expensive. I found a good strong picture w/ frame (wooden) I painted over an ugly picture and used it for my mount Fugi. It looks great. But even that ugly wooden framed picture was 5$. Your idea is almost free ! I love you Ms Lizzie you rock !

if i had buy all the stuff you need to do that and put all the work to it, it would be actually cheaper just to buy directly a frame instead of making one 😂

You could, but then it wouldn't be art, and you'd just have another mass produced frame that many others have. I didn't go out and buy my supplies just for this. It was made out of extra pieces of trims and supplies that I had laying around my studio. Thanks for watching!😉
