  • 🖼️How to Frame Canvas Paintings🖼️
Upon request, I've shared my framing procedure for three separate canvas situations.
-I share info about the hardware you'll need.
-I talk about framing with a canvas with a float frame and where I get my floater frames.
-I show how to frame a canvas in a standard frame.
-I talk about how to wire the back of a canvas that has a nice gallery wrapped edge and deep enough profile that you might not want to frame it.
This should be helpful and applicable to all painters working on canvas, not just the acrylic pouring set.
    What do you think?
Paint brands, pigments and recipe listed below!
Courtney Hoelscher - Artist / Instructor
    I am a full-time artist and instructor.
I provide Acrylic Pour painting tutorials and demonstrations.
It is fun to make these paintings but also fun to just watch the process.
I use only archival professional quality products and never use silicone in my paintings.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. I love sharing my passion and knowledge.

Just watched a video from a woodworker doing a floating canvas frame and he used a bit of heat shrink (like for auto electrical cables) over the wire cable on the back of the frame where it’s twisted back around itself. Looked neat and tidy and would also help stop it unravelling :)
And thanks for all your other tips have been trying to figure out what to do with my canvases!

Thanks for including the regular frame. I am not a fan of floater frames because they are usually pretty plain so I was hoping to use a more ornate regular frame that my painted 8x10 canvas painting would look great with!

Your work is stunning. I’m falling in love with the creamy pearl swipes. I also appreciate how you inform in your videos, which I’m certain is because you are a professional instructor. Very grateful. I hope you don’t mind a couple questions: (1) where do you sign your paintings, or if you don’t sign them, why not? (2) other than the cute factor, why do you put a sticker on the back of your paintings? Does it make it easier to identify yours at a glance? 😊

    • @CourtneyHoelscher
      @CourtneyHoelscher  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Thanks for the sweet words. Glad you are finding my videos helpful.
      1. I sign the back, on the wood or on the canvas as it wraps around onto the back.
      2. The sticker is my logo. I out it on the work, along with a business card for branding purposes.

    Mitchalisia Hi,
Amen ! My tablet is working today ! It's been out of order for 2 wks ! I've been watching all your vids though, so I'm keeping up ! Just love all 3 of your large paintings, & love your new series you've started ! I predict you'll be selling everything !
I can't join patreon for you, but I do let all the commercials play all the way thru, whether I'm watching on my TV or tablet. I know that helps you & your channel. You can always ask other viewers to do the same. You need to go to family dollar store & get a mini tool kit with needlenose & flatnose pliers, usually $3-$5, usually in a small case. I've got one & have gotten my money's worth out of it ! I love using the pliers for repairing jewelry & making jewelry. Tfs ! Big Hugs Alisia 🤗

Hi, Thank you for the video about frames. Your vidos are very beautiful. The Second frame in Gold, the big one, what kind the frame is it? I am very new beginning for abstract painting. The frames are very expensive, plus I couldn't find 36x48 frame. I liked you 2nd frame in gold. Is that a regular frame that you buy in store and take out the front glass. thank you

Great stuff, thanks for sharing with us. I think they are called eye screws that you put in to wrap the wire around. Anyway, you can use a pen, pencil etc to turn it to tightness. I don't have proper tools either which is how I know I can use a pen pencil or something like that.

I hope you finally got a smaller wire cutter and pliers 😁
Looks like you raided your husband's toolbox!
I do have one question. When you hang your 3rd painting on the galley frame that has the center bar, how do you keep the hanger on the wall from holding the top out too far? Or are the rubber feet at bottom enough to compensate for this?
    Thank you dear.

Thank you for saying so. These tools are the mish-mash that have accumulated in the art classroom over the years. As far are the painting leaning forward, I've never had that issue because I tie my wire really tight.
