Floating Picture Frame

I have two paintings in my office that my eldest daughter painted. I am going to make floating picture frames for the paintings to make my office walls complete. I did figure out when cutting the boards to size using the miter saw the gap for the frame changes. When I cut the board to the right of the line measurement, a smaller gap occurs. When I cut the board to the left of the line measurement, the gap is wider. I had fun doing this project and my daughter loves the frames, I hope you do also.

Nice work. My only suggestion is Not to have on loose sleeves and gloves when using table saw.

I just clamped mine together following your plans. I’m tempted to throw a nail in each corner for stability. Could always putty small hole. What are your thoughts?

You can do that if you want to. Put the nail in the corner where no one would see it, the top and the bottom of the frame.
