There is no disputing the beauty and creativity of your work, but I'm wondering why you chose to use a doll with cat ears as a base, if you intended to remove the ears? It seems like it would be easier to choose one without ears. Do you just go by the skin color? It's nice to see dolls that aren't white, so I can definitely understand that.

I have tried this myself, with rather expensive watercolor pencils. But I never get as much color as you do. Your black is actually black. Are there any tips you or other viewers can give me on this? Thank you
have you tried making the tip a bit wet? by simply dipping it in a glass?
This may or may not help, but Andreja (Nicolle) uses a sealant which helps her colors stand out by giving them some tack/tooth to stick and grab onto. I'd watch her Q & A videos to get a better understanding. :)

Dipping the tip in water is not going to work. The lines get very thick. Also I don't see anywhere on the video she does that either.
I use a sealant, but still it feels as if it's not effective as in her video, my black never gets really black. So I am a little puzzled what I am missing here.
I'm going to try again soon, so hopefully I can find out what I'm doing wrong.
sorry my reply wasn't that useful, i only know what i know from using watercolour pencils on paper, not dolls D': perhaps it's the brand she uses? highly doubt that but.. keep us updated when you find out what it was o:

It would be weird if it's the brand she uses. She uses expensive pencils, but it would suck if mine are not working because mine are surely not any cheaper. I don't really want to buy a complete new set either unless it's really the brand. If only I could get my hands on 1 pencil of that brand to test it out!

This was perfect for me! I've been wanting to repaint a Catrine De Mew doll, but I wanted to get rid of the cat ears and I was afraid that she would look strange because she wouldn't have any ears at all! Now I see that she will still look amazing! ☺

You're very talented, and I enjoy telling other people about you and your channel. I have friends who have a mom that wants to practice doing face ups on their ghoulia dolls, since they have so many. After that, I told her to go to your channel and watch your face ups, because you're perfect at doing doll face ups of any kind. And I tell other people about you too, because you inspire 143 thousand people with your art and hard work. Now I'm not great at writing inspiring paragraphs or just regular paragraphs in general, but if there is one person that would make me write paragraphs like crazy, it's you. You already have me thinking about practicing face ups and buying the supplies with my allowance! I get 20 dollars for my allowance, and I'm going to save it. And no matter if I save and it adds up to 1 thousand, 2 thousand, 3 thousand, or even 1 million, it will never buy what you give to the world. The real prize is right here, an inspiring person that has the courage to share their talent with more than 143 thousand people. These numbers don't cost anything compared to your talent. I don't know if that was an exceptional paragraph that I wrote or not, but those words only begin to describe what gifts you have.

Hello, I'm a new sub here, love your channel :) - for this video, I would like to know how you coped with Clawdeen's ears? I am re-rooting Clawdeen atm and I put plasticine for now and I used a tapestry needle to poke holes as if to simulate the rest of her scalp but I don't think thats a good substitute for plastic. Do you have a more permanent suggestion? Thanks!!
+Alexis Colby Here I made a wig for her, so it didn't matter that she had holes from removing the ears :) I would not know what to use to fill those up.

Not sure if I'm a wee bit late, but I saw one youtuber (can't remember her name! sorry) but she used a hot glue gun over the holes and when the glue dried, she rerooted the hair very carefully to that. Not sure if this is any help, but all the best!

+LifeIsWeird I wouldn't say they have "too much makeup", they are a fantasy doll range, have manga features and are therefore highly 'cartoonesque'. They aren't supposed to represent a norm or reality when the dolls are designed with mythical creatures in mind.

Can you please do more dolls of color, as in not white... I know you have done some of wild colored skins, but rarely do you see LBJ's or custom dolls that are ethnically Black, Hispanic or Indian.
well... because of the community they don't make many dolls like that... so Nicole has not much choice in picking the doll...
"Because of the community," what does that mean? Is the community of LBJD racist and prefers white skin? That they prescribe to the notice that white/light is superior in beauty?

it's probably just that a lot of doll companies do not sell dolls with any colored skin, and doing a repaint would take even more time.

I'm sad to say the next gen MH dolls will look like cheap, badly done mock-ups of your work, at least as far as the doll's eyes go. This is just my opinion. I wonder if Mattel looked at the most talented OOAK artists for inspiration, especially you.

new subscriber here. just curious, have you ever tried putting on some of the gloss (the one you applied on the lips) on the eyes? might look like real eyes if it has some of that gloss especially when you placed lifelike eyelashes like that. or maybe just on that corner where the tear ducts are. nevertheless really good job yours are the best faceup ive seen here in youtube. cant wait to see more of your work.
+Brent Antigua yes I tried both the full eye and tearduct glossing but I did not like the result. I prefer without gloss mostly because it is easier to photograph :)
Hi! You always do such an amazing job with your dolls, so gorgeous :) And you actually inspired me to try this for myself. I just finished my first monster high repaint. But when i went to put the gloss on her lips, everything got smeared and ruined :( I wiped it and tried again to the same result. Do you have any tips? Or know what I'm doing wrong? I had sealed it a final time with MSC and it was completely dry. I had painted her lips with some soft pastels. Thanks so much for your videos :)
