There's a lot that's not known because ppl tend to not understand that there's rules and regulations for weight for these boats, speed and then the amount of drinking that goes on. As u can see there's a lot of boats in that same weather so like I say it's unknown.
She was killed because of negligence they let to many people on the top deck and they built a structure that changed the bouncy of the vessel so it should have raised the lumber line of the vessel thus meaning it should have more vessel under the water line meaning more weight in the bottom of the vessel to compensate for the weight added to the upper deck making it top heavy and easy to capsize as it did!! I know this because I'm an engineer and worked on ships all my life!!
She died of a heart attack perhaps caused by the trauma. We had a little tour boat run out of fuel once. Maintenance is questionable in poor countries.
It is. I paddled out to the ship wreck in turks and caicos and my wife almost had to call for rescue bc I was gone for hrs. Thing is, there's no coast guard
one time I rented a small fishing boat with the captain operating it to take me through some of the Pacific Coast, when we exited the bay the sea was aggressive, I asked him about it and he said "mar de fondo" just started, that it wasn't happening when we were in the bay. since it costed more work to the engine to sail through a rough sea, the motor died in the middle of several rocks near the shore (about 2 kms away from the shore)... I was panicking hard, but tried to keep it cool on the outside. Inside, I was praying. then we got the engines back and I demanded to head back immediately. xD
Ppl don’t realize how dangerous and unregulated these boat tours can be. I was on a catamaran in Belize and the engined died. We were stranded in the ocean for hours and had to fight with the company to get our money back. Thankful no one was hurt but it could’ve been so much worse.
Sooo sad and scary. I know those floats don't hold me up (personally) and I can't swim even in a calm situation. My prayers are with her family. That's heart breaking
I'm 280 pounds and 6'5, and they hold me up. The only reason those type of jackets won't hold you up is if they're old and rotten or you're massively overweight, n you gotta be pretty big because I'm a big dude myself
I don’t understand how people can’t swim. It’s basically an instinct. You literally just continually push the water down at an angle with your arms while simultaneously clicking your heels together then sp read legs and repeat the heel clicking continuously. This is how you tread water and stay afloat. I actually cross over my feet slightly as opposed to heel clicking.
The problem is the overloaded the top deck and there wasnt enough people on the lower deck and the ballast tanks neede more water and fuel in tanks to keep the vessel upright!!😮😮😮
The boat took on water. It was not full that day and the beam width of the boat makes it stable even if everyone is in the top deck. The boat was not full or over crowded.
And I will continue to watch from the sidelines. Neither the sky nor the sea have any interest for me. Safety and concern are of the Ut-most and key. I'm a poet and didn't even know it!

What a shame. Why do you think that there are so many yachts and ships registered in the Bahamas, because of their quality safety standards? No way, just the opposite.
Yeah, been there. They pack those boats so full and it’s totally unsafe. They have different safety regulations than we do in the states. The people probably were excited and didn’t realize it until it was too late.
@@bigboyscrubba6468Not trying to be funny but is it possible that the boat was listing due to , too many obese American tourists sitting on one side of the boat
You do realize this is NOT a catamaran? It's a simple external flotation boat (the rows of air filled steel cans), and yes, as someone else pointed out, it was top heavy and bringing the center of gravity too high. A catamaran is a true double hulled boat, with two keels. This was a non- hulled box with containers of air welded to the underside.
Is this voice over matched with the wrong video? 1. The boat is taking on water and listing, it is not capsized. 2. That is not a catamaran, it is a passenger ferry. 3. Nobody drowned nor died in the Blue Lagoon Island ferry incident, an elderly woman suffered a heart attack back on the pier after the incident.
This is multiple videos put together. The one inside is early, when it is listing. Notice, at one point, the second deck is inches above the water, the lower deck is already under water. After the recording stops, the boat finished capsizing.
Top heavy !! Tourists need to Pay attention ! 100 people is too many for a boat that size !! Don’t let the operators tell you otherwise! They’re there to make money ; have little care about your safety.
