The method I was told was to set the exhaust when the intake valve just hits the seat (closed). If done before the valve fully closes, the lifter won't be on the base circle of the cam.
If you look at the Chevrolet 350 valve train animation video, you can see that the exhaust lifter will be on the side of the base circle when the intake valve just starts to close, and when the intake valve is fully closed, the Exhaust lifter will be fully on the base circle. So adjust when the intake valve hits the seat (fully closed). Hope this helps .
I have a question,i have a 2013 gmc Denali yukon 6.2 can i block off the oil pan relief valve on oil pan with the Michigan Motorsports plug bolt with out doing a dod delete kit? I need to do the oil pan gasket its leaking and figured since in down there why not .im also putting a new oil pick tube o ring .your time and help much appreciated

Cold setting is normally .006-.008 tighter than hot. If hot setting was .020, then cold should have been .012-.014 lash. Not .006
