This company makes great engines! Have one of their 383 strokers in my 69 Chevy C10 with a Edelbrock pro flo 4 EFI system and it runs great every time I drive it!
Thanks for the video. Very informative and straight to the point.
You did a fantastic job explaining how to set valves
We started a trend with our ponitiac blue 406 I guess..lol
Thanks for the vid.
Thanks for this video.Explained a lot and made it simple.
Thanks for sharing
good vid...what do the OEM chev roller lifters use for plunger travel? i assume you are using those type in this demo??
Great info! Can I use this same method if the engine is in the and has been running? Most videos show new builds.
Yes you can just use EOIC..exhaust opening adjust intake...intake closing adjust exhaust it's easy brother just make sure your lash is out but not to tight
.
Thanks for sharing this video…
But I am wondering if it would be same way for classic Marine GM 350 opposite direction (RH rotation) or different method??
curious 7/16 bbc rocker studs , used in pontiacs when you want to run adjustable valve train. do you typically do more than 1/2 turn adjustments with hydr. lifters , say comp cam and crane for example? in your experience.
After preload is set should there be any side to side movement?
okay so that is with studded rockers, what about typical rocker stands with bolts, you turn it 1/2 turn, now it isnt tight so how do you tighten a ls rocker bolt without adding preload?
20👍's up EG thank you for sharing 😅
I get less than an 8th of a turn and the valve opens, what do i do
You call it ice. I go EOIC. Exhaust opening, Intake closing. Work out the same in the end
I have an LS1 engine with that tick. Adjusting the rocker should remove that tick?
If your running a solid rail rocker set up yes. All ls motors from factory are set with a guide plate and use a 7.400 pushrod. 22ft pounds of torque on the bolts for rockers
@@tannermcclellan3021 it's a stock engine with hydraulic lifters.
Most of the time a tick is either a rocker or an exhaust leak, look at the manifold to head gasket and collector gasket and any flanges if you don’t see any black then adjust the rockers, make sure you do the procedure for an ls though I’m not sure if they are different
Ls is not adjustable. If that's the issue, you'll need to change pushrod length instead
So by locking down the rocker you actually added almost an other 1/4 turn=
1 1/4 turns from zero lash after lockdown???????
I saw 45 degrees that's 1/8
@@rotorblade9508 almost 1 1/4
Okay 1 1/8 turns, regardless my BB Chev 396 roller cam and rockers would not run with that adjustment, I don't think 🤔
sorry last post meant to say engine is in the car
That seems like an awful lot of preload, I've only ever heard of half or three quarters of a turn?
I've done 1/2 turn for a long time
i do 5/8 then get the extra 1/8 from the "lockdown"
Agreed. 1 full turn is a lot
@@ironhorse127I got a Haynes manual and it says small block 1 full turn big block 3/4 Turns, I’ve always done 1/2 turn though
Eoic
Spin the pushrod. That wiggle the pushrod up and down is for amateurs.
Spin is inaccurate. I can spin a pushrod with preload. Cant wiggle the pushrod when preload is set!
@@robbygray9562 do it how ever makes you feel good. But i can 100 percent tell you, I can tell when i get to zero lash, every time! 45 yrs with no failure, and no readjustment, ever...
