Back tracking along the runway at Bauer Field brought back memories. I've done that a few times but as a passenger in Britten-Norman Islanders or Trislanders in the mid 1970s. I also was nearly wiped out by a twin engined Piper of Solomon Islands Airways together with two French policemen and two British policemen- thusly. We were calibrating a radar speed gun, which was used by both the French and British police, by driving a vehicle up and down the runway and measuring its speed. We had been assured by Civil Aviation and the control tower that no incoming or outgoing flights were due but when we were in the middle of our task we were interrupted by a loud hailer from the control tower and told to clear the runway immediately. On looking up we saw the Piper on final approach and had to make a rapid and undignified dash out of its way. Happy days.

Taxiing with one engine before entering the runway. I found out that's really cool. Obviously to reduce noises in ramp area. Or maybe there is a procedures for this particular airport. Anyway Great video.

very good video.what i would like to know and i have never seen this and we have ATR's into home airport.why was the APU started while passengers still embarking ,and why was only 1 engine started and used to taxi. as i have said very unusual procedure
