😧 this brings back memories that I will cherish in my heart forever!❤❤🙅 My first overseas flight was to Germany on Lufthansa with my first child who was 8 months old at the time, I flew over there to live in Germany, for three years with my husband, at that time he was in the Army, stationed in Germany during the Gulf War, and it was a wonderful flight! I am also a previous flight attendant and miss it very very much!I had to stop my careers, as a Mom, flight attendant, All Star cheerleading choreographer coach, due to terminal illnesses,, makes me sad ,,I miss it so very much🙅 but I am very thankful to have had the experience!I so wish I could work a flight for free and see my kids who are in the Louisiana and Colorado while I'm stuck in frozen tundra land in Wisconsin😨 fighting to see tomorrow💪 but I will never give up💪✌❤☝️ just hard financially and physically terminally ill😢😢 my bucket list is to work my own flight to see my kids and when I have to leave and work the return flight, it free and get free Hotel yeah that'd be wonderful but I know that won't happen but I can dream it🙏☝️✌❤ God bless you all oh and by the way, do you happen to know Elder uchtdorf he flew as a captain with Lufthansa☝️☝️✌✌❤❤

I was a jet engine mechanic in the US NAVY. I joined to learn everything I could about these amazing machines so that I could fly them but unfortunately things did not go as planned, although I am wanting to get in a position where I can pick up where I left off. I want to fly these amazing birds. Any advice. Awesome job with the way that you all are making these very instructional videos. I absolutely love all the details. My hat off and great thank you to both the Captain and First Officer. Exemplifying what real life pilots are in every day situations. Keep up the great work Lufthansa Airlines. I wish I could be there with you in that amazing MD-11. Great job gentlemen.

Thank you for presenting this excellent video of a Frankfurt-Nairobi Lufthansa cargo flight on a McDonnell Douglas MD-11 aircraft , one of the best real time cockpit flight crew in action videos of all phases of a flight I have seen in the internet. A full and clear description of pre-flight preparation, airplane checkups, navigation planning, flight planning details, contingency planning and important technical information fliers and aviation fans are interested in. Great camera capture of different angles of the cockpit with Captain Fokko and F/O Johannes at work. Vielen Danke.

Those of us who have jobs that take us away, in my case domestic and international travel share the same downside, being away from home and the hotel hassles. Nothing worst than being in a room when party central is going on above or to the side of you, hated it. I flew almost every week for six years and it got to the point I started to feel like crap as soon as I drove into the airport parking lot.

Wonderful video and two excellent and professional pilots too. Both did I great job and Capt Fokko was very good about sharing information regarding total flight operations. First Officer Johannes complemented Captain Fokko perfectly. I enjoyed the video very much. I fly to Frankfurt Germany in Sept 2018 and I hope it will be on Lufthansa again, I've used them three times in the eight round trips I've made there since 1998. When setting up my reservations, I have to watch both costs and schedules, so I don't have the luxury of flying with Lufthansa every time. At least they are Star Alliance partners so it's important for me to collect airline miles. Capt Fokko has flown that Germany to Africa route so many times he could probably do it blindfolded, but it's good he doesn't leave anything to chance. Now if I were a pilot doing long haul flights, especially those of even longer duration, I just don't see myself staying alert and awake the whole way, I would probably start nodding off an hour after take off! Add to that Capt Fokko's extensive flight record on this route and it would be even worst. But, the solution in my case is the "power nap", 20 minutes or so and I'm better than before. It's not easy with the kind of schedules these guys are on, expecting to fly out at sunset and be in the air all night, that contradicts human sleep cycles and then expect them to fly again, but leave the next time at 6am, that's tough but I'm sure they have found remedies for this, one of which is the crash couch behind the cockpit. Keep up the great work guys.

Awesome! "Air truckers" If I was to fly commercial aircraft, cargo would be my first and only choice. It never complains and stays put if it's secured properly in its place. Awesome Captain and 1st officer! Thanks a bunch for the video!
PS: why is it that pretty much every video I see about cargo plane flying work starts at dusk and the departure is at night, flying in the dark, landing in the dark also if your flight is less than 6-8 hours especially if your heading is West?
I guess flying cargo is mainly a nighttime job, right?
Wow, awesome nighttime view of Rome! Man, that's gotta be a job you get to love doing over and over again!
