In Chinese culture, we describe a REALLY greedy person to be taotie. Because this creature will keep eating even though it damage it body, and is the symbol of gluttony. that's why she don't even want those thingy keeps leaking and punch everyone out of the place.

Since, to actually make the multi-route _work_ you're gonna have a lot of different people fighting the games final boss, and as such, there needs to be some justification as to why it didn't stick the first time, and why she needs to be fought again and again and again. AoCF is one of the few that actually buck this trend, mainly since there's two story scenario's for Reimu. One when she's investigating, and the penultimate scenario when she actually solves it, and properly beats Joon & Shion
Reimu and marisa slipped HARD in the oil incident. Heck, even in touhou 19 at the very least reimu did SOMETHING. Marisa barely contributed if i remember correctly

Marisa tends to be a roadblock for most players with how wonky her moveset is. That said, her weaknesses don't really translate all that well to Normal mode, where you can play a lot more aggressively and come out on top. That and you actually found the best attack for casual play, her up attack shotgun is very good. Also CHICKEN!!! They managed to make Kutaka even prettier, I didn't think that was possible. She's also another roadblock for beginners, combined with being faced on Marisa's route. Personally on most of her spells, I focus on dodging until the field is clear. Marisa also has a stomp with i-frames by pressing Z and Down in the air, so that helps a lot. But again, I guess on Normal mode you can just unga bunga the hell out of her fight. I'm losing it at the Yuuma edit oh my god-
Impressive A tried and true Marisa player indeed, this is the first time I've seen 17.5 Marisa utilized so effectively I didn't know you could drop bombs while dashing, and I certainly didn't think those could be useful at all Kutaka though, you just tanked the sh** out of everything, goddamn Next up is Kanako, and I think we finally make some progress with the plot there I think (and also being the most broken character ever, like why?)
You know, since Marisa officially took out Saki while Reimu took out Keiki, it can be said that Marisa was the one who did the MOST HEROIC STUFF in WBaWC. Man, Reimu really sucks at solving problems, these days. At this rate, we'll have a game where the Incident is HER FAULT...and the Incident is solved by kicking her ass.
Marisa is the character I'm the least knowledgeable about for this game. Her awkward movement made me not want to dig too much deeper into her play, and she doesn't get the absolutely insane times that Murasa does. I believe her best DPS is pretty heavily dependent on the situation, but dash explosives are generally pretty good. The most notable thing I know about Marisa is that she has the single fastest fight in the entire game; Marisa's fight against Reimu can be completed in only 6 seconds IGT, 4 on easy. AKA Reimu freakin' dies. For the fight with Yamame, I've only got a couple general statements of note. First off, during her first spell card, she can either go back and forth across the screen two or three times. It can be difficult to one-cycle her if she only does 2 passes with some characters, but it is faster if you can pull it off. I'll have more to say about this particular spell later, as I don't believe Marisa runs make use of the other thing I wanna mention. The second thing is that during her last spell, grazing the big orbs at the end of the threads will cancel the whole line, while grazing the bullets in the middle won't do much for you. If you've ever been confused why sometimes they vanish and sometimes they don't, this is why. Ah, yes, the introduction of boat. Fuck boat. Also hello Kutaka! This bird only has slightly more health than Okuu. Unlike the sun birb, however, Kutaka's kinda a nightmare for Greedy Challenge. Utsuho is fairly easily dodged, it just isn't worth it in story mode; Kutaka gets damage rushed down in story mode because dealing with her nonsense *sucks*. One fun Marisa-specific thing I do know is that during Yuuma's final spell card, you can just dash into the wall behind Yuuma and drop explosives on her (Unless this has changed since 1.04). The hitbox around her doesn't extend quite far enough back to hit you there, so that spell is completely free for Marisa.
Yaaay! Marisa! She has a fun playstyle that holds up against nearly every boss… except Kutaka (and probably Okuu). Kutaka just.. throws so much GARBAGE while sitting out of any comfortable ranges for Marisa. It’s awful. Fun fact about the next four characters: There was a point where they did NOT have tutorials. I played the game during this period and had to learn on the fly during some brutal stage 1’s how to play them. It was.. something. EDIT: I did NOT know you could carpet bomb while dashing. That would have been so useful…!!!! Pro tip for Marisa vs Murasa: Marisa loses most of her velocity when absorbing water, meaning against final spell’s anchors you can use it as an airbrake to avoid flying into anchors.
The plot thickens as they say... or not since Marisa is supposedly a "what if" situation. Good run anyhow, and seeing as I didn't mention it before, I'll add it here instead. It mostly concerns Yuugi, in that she not only appears not to be sporting the usual star on her horn, she winds up doing what she apparently never does: as in she spills her sake, twice! (^_^;)
Right so, when I played on Switch the Marisa vs Murasa fight was an UTTER NIGHTMARE because it was glitched: no matter what I did any time she went into the spell break state she wouldn't take damage. This meant I had to go through significantly longer spell cards and it does not come across how obnoxious the "hit the water and auto jump out of it" controls were normaly, much less when everything has to go on twice/three times as long. I've seen switch gameplay since then and whatever that issue was got fixed, at least. Anyway, I didn't super care for Marisa's playstyle, so it was nice to see you handle her so well. Though you also had quite some trouble with Kutaka...she was a pretty routine pain any time she popped up for. Algorithmic Phantom is awful to deal with in the best of circumstances. Cool that she's here though. It makes sense, due to the sanzu connection, but she still wasn't a character I expected to make a return like this.
Despite her dash being the hardest to use properly, I think Marisa is great. She has a variety of attacks with a good range that deals a considerate amount of damage, which ends up being my favorite character in the games, besides Murasa. Now, Kutaka is easily one of the hardest bosses, along with Yuuma's second phase. The only character I believe is truly good against her is Kanako.

Not gonna lie I'm really surprised by how well you are handling Marisa. Pretty much everyone I've seen (including me, and I really like the game) doesn't really like playing her. I did manage to get through Normal by spamming the attack where she throws potions up in the air (which on the release of the game, caused a huge audio spike when used right on top of the boss), but if I remember correctly I gave up trying to clear with her on Hard. I couldn't even get past Yuugi on Hard, mainly because I had a very hard keeping up with Yuugi's second spell as Marisa. Yuugi's second spell is my least favorite pattern in the game overall too, I really hate those water sprouts that make it much more annoying to land a hit on her... I'm probably just bad at her though.

You know 17.5 does such a good job at building Yuuma up as this unstoppable force that it kinda makes Yuuma’s loss to Yachie in 19 the more confusing.
To be fair, 19 Yuuma isn't all juiced up with petroleum like 17.5 Yuuma is, thus is noticeably weaker in comparison.
