You have to remember that she's stopped gods, divine spirits and all the other characters with literally no special powers of her own, completely with magic she's studied and prepared herself. No wonder so many people are impressed.
I won't deny that Reimu leaping to THAT conclusion is pretty stupid I don't remember which character is the point where time actually progresses instead of just different perspectives, but it's by that point that Reimu's change in tune gets really noticed by people
As alluded to in the video, the AI is very much not inclined to take any hits especially without the sufficiently dense spam of high level attacks. What you might not expect, however, is that killing the stage 6 enemy AI (usually Zanmu) has now taken over as the primary strategy in more than a couple LNNs in this game... Marisa, though, is not one of them. Her Lv1 when spammed can make short work of any enemy bosses, which on top of her excellent base shot damage, makes her one of the easiest shots to get LNN with. Just be a bit more mindful of Zanmu's penultimate spell and properly stream that.

UM: Marisa canonically solves the Incident. 100thBM: Marisa is the sole protagonist while Reimu is a mid-level encounter who was seemingly taking part in the black market.
It is funny how opponent's hearts work in story mode. I was playing on Ladybug difficulty and went through all 19 stories in about 14 hours and managed to take off an opponent's heart exactly ones. Up to that point, I did not even think it was possible and it seemed more like a glitch in the CPU.

And I still never went back to actually try to get that Marisa LNN but on recording... That said, she's definitely a high tier character. All things considered, at least the AI isn't as BS here as in PoFV. As said in the video, on higher difficulties, they can actually end up taking hits here and there, which makes Human vs CPU in VS Mode, like, actually feasible for the human player. Though I suppose it helps that you aren't cancelling bullets 5000 times like in PoFV. I dunno if you've noticed, but it's so funny to me that Nazrin's card images are swapped when you get them. Her card in this video, does not, in fact, look like a rod, and in the last video it certainly didn't look like a pendulum. 8:009:32 oh boy here we go again Also remember when I said I really don't like Reimu in this game? She also sucks as a boss, why are her patterns denser than the average Twitter user??? 9:40 This is not Normal difficulty density!!! 15:40 Not only does she have a bullet shot in her hat, Marisa's fingers look like they're pointing straight at it when Saki's portrait is the highlighted one. Enoko is so cute. I have nothing more to say. Though I'll be damned. I swear her pendant STILL looks like the Chain Bomb from Kirby and the Forgotten Land to me. It's the shade of green that does it for me. I wasn't gonna bring this up until later, but Enoko is already a good example of this happening. (So is Nazrin, but this only really happens against more aggressive players that move up on the screen often.) For some reason, on lower game screen resolutions, the tells for the EX attacks go to a completely different place than where the attacks pop up. This can be very bad on Enoko, and ESPECIALLY on a certain boss later that we all know and hate. I think 1280x960 has them pop up fine, not sure about 960x720. All their card have the same effects: First card strengthens the beast spirits you send to the opponent (Saki's affects wolves, Yachie's affects otters and Yuuma's affects eagles) Second card weakens the beast spirits sent to you
Youmu used her stage theme back in PoFV, so Sanae using her stage theme shouldn't be that bizarre when there's precedence for it. Also, to reply your comment before about Marisa not fighting Hisami, lorewise, the items that the three underlings of the gang leaders had a trap set up by Zanmu to teleport people directly to her domain, which is why Marisa heads straight to Zanmu. The ones who fight Hisami are the ones who head to Hell on foot rather than through the trap barring Mamizou, who somehow jumped out of the trap and appeared at Hell proper rather than Zanmu's hell. Also, not to be rude, but have you considered writing all your thoughts in one comment rather than be spread across multiple comments?
Not the first time zun uses stage themes for characters, youmu had her stage theme back in PoFV. Besides hearing "the primal japanese scene the girl saw" with the UM chords is glorious and fitting the game's atmosphere in a way

Anyway, in this game, it seems that everyone who isn't either an extra boss or a boss introduced after 16 uses stage themes, unless she has a new theme. No wonder the game hardly EVER uses character themes.

I guess this is why the story mode hardly uses character themes, because most would be unfit for the battles.

I mean, Reimu's statement might be hilariously wrong, but I'm pretty sure they're contractually obligated to try to beat each other up whenever they run into each other during an incident, and you try coming up with believable reasons to say "I'ma shoot you" after this many times.
This just in: Omega gets his piercing back and undergoes catharsis. That level 2 is truly scary but only in PvP. Still though, it is more than enough of a menace to earn doing only that
Marisa is one of the best non-Reimu non-a certain chupacabra characters in this game. Her damage is great, has a good story mode boss lineup barring Reimu and Zanmu, and for pvp has a pretty strong level 2 and 3. She's so good that I managed to get a Lunatic 1cc as her despite my skill level being around Hard 1cc. Next time, time for Sanae to be harrased by some foxes

To one of those foxes' defense, she was just investigating the situation when Sane attacked her. The other will get no such defense for she is a certified menace to society.
All beast leaders are actually based on the preys of said spirits. Wolves tend to hunt horses, turtles's eggs are targeted by otters and eagles tends to grab goats. So the leaders being the predator's prey says a lot about their strength.

One thing about this game that I'm confused about is the effect of Saki, Yachie and Yuuma's cards. Like, what do they actually do?

When you are in Lunatic with Marisa being your opponent, her Level 2 attack is really difficult, especially when she uses it during her spell card.
