Hi, really nice video. This is exactly what I searched for! Thank you!
And could you make a list of the spare parts that you have used?
Thank you :-)
Thank you!
I will try to make one, later this day!
There is some delay on the parts list, have been pretty busy, but I will make it. I will try to make it by the end of the week. Sorry for the delay!
I'm looking to do this with my 1980 mr50. Where did you buy the oil seals set? And which bearings. I think it's the same engine
@@Adriaan-bb6kv the block itself should be the same indeed. You can find bearing and sealkits at JMPB.
Definitely let them know I sent you!
Can be dangerous to flatten a RD M piston. The top of the piston is calculated to stands against ignision pressure. It can blow a hole in the piston, damage the new coating and presses metal particles into the cylinder head. DX can reach 11000 rpm, which brings a lot of heat. Pressure and heat. DX need a proper piston.
You raise a good point. It ended up not working anyway with this piston. More on that on the next episode.
what liquid gasket did you use?
Can't recall. It's a tube I had laying around from a car engine rebuild. Popular one you can look for is yamabond
Where did you get the oil seals from mate ?
Jmpb.nl a dutch company. They have a lot of stuff for yamaha etc..

@@vivianbond7449 arent dt and rd heads interchangeable. I have one DT block for parts, but without cylinder and head, I allready stole the ignition. I'm actually going to a tradeyard tomorrow, if you could send pictures of the thing you need via Instagram, I'm willing to take a look
@@VintageGarageYT I only got Facebook mate with a woman carrying A basket of washing
Had a look yesterday, but didnt find much dt parts
the crank bearing on the flywheel side was very slack fit ?? ,, heat alone woldnt have made it expand enough for the crank to just slip in , vertically split cases like the rd and fs1e normaly require this side to be pulled into the bearing with a puller .
They have been like this for both the fs1 and the Rd. Never had an issue with them like this.
Also I heat up the cases, but the bearings themselves have been in the freezer for a couple of days. So the cases expand and the bearing shrinks enough to have it this way. Worked everytime so far.
