I was thinking when you sent in the destroyer that you might accidentally hit the destroyer in the back, funnily enough "accidentally" friendly firing the Deathshriek into combat was a thing on the tabletop too (thanks to a technicality), however it would also really annoy your opponents since you weren't supposed to be able to do that
The deathsrhieker rocket in single target mode actually seems pretty decent at countering enemy artillery; it's very accurate and kills most artillery models in 2 hits. It's just not good at killing the crew like a hellstorm. DahvPlays did a couple of videos on it.
yeah given that it can switch to anti infantry i can even see 2 of them being a relatively safe pick against many factions. Obviously except for kislev and maybe empire with the new luminark
Writing from my rack on duty again after binging a few videos I missed. Thanks for showcasing the chorfs vs all these factions nice to know how to play with them. As always appreciate you making all the videos brother.
The other point is the Deathshriek seems to really be on the money with those hits. Does it have any light homing? Also, I think anything inorganic like demon engines, constructs, ethereals, and war machines should have immunity to poison... Poison itself could use a rework to be saturation-based instead of just "one dart and now 120 men are poisoned."
Happy to see the rocket getting some sick nasty value after hearing how underwhelming people have found it so far, obviously has a very specific niche. I'm guessing it's only good against large SEMs rather than cav or foot lords?
Great match, excited for this patch! K'daai (both version) need like 20 more armor (80 and 110) and a health bump for the price. Fireborn need like, 1000 at least while the destroyer probably needs around 3000 considering price. That'd match them to Minos and Giants for reference, both units which are notably cheaper and similar damage outputs. I'd also probably want the infernal frenzy to stay active until 50% health. CA really struggles to balance daemons it seems.
Magma canons should get nerfed so the real showcase of the factions like k’daai and some war machines get the buff. Compared to Vc or TK this dlc is weak
I think Daemons in general need tuning to their morale system, mainly unit passives to gain leadership buffs. They're too fragile to invest chevrons just to make them have better leadership, by giving them thematic ways to make the daemonic stick around longer would be a more entertaining and fun solution imo. Nurgle daemons gaining leadership based on damage taken by units they're in contact with (HP divided by model count increase/decrease the intensity value proportionally, More HP + Less Models = More Value per % of damage taken, alongside expendable reductions (and summons don't count, obviously) Tzeentch daemons from Winds of Magic usage (allied only). Khorne by nearby unit wipes (half benefit from expendable units, including basic skeletons). Slaanesh, instead of a permanent bonus, would instead get highly rewarding but temporary bonuses from damage recently inflicted (so that when they've put the hurt on them, they can stick around to enjoy the suffering, but only while they keep the pleasure coming). Hashut Daemons from fire damage inflicted nearby (including the unit's own). The numbers and all that would take ironing out, but giving a better reward for using daemons would be nice. They're not weak or anything, but in comparison to mortal units their fragility is often their biggest detriment. I say give additional staying power to daemons when they're used effectively and thematically, in ways that aren't unnatural for the player to do and don't feel suffocating when dealing with.
I was hoping that the deathshriek would get reevaluated; I know it’ll take more experimenting to see where it shines but so glad it’s a good anti SEM piece. I still do wish it’s anti artillery sniping was more consistent that would be great. Also it’s weird that the big decepticon has metal slapped all over it but doesn’t have that much armor
Not super familiar with the lore, but I'm pretty sure the armor is like a containment for the K'daai, and when it breaks they leave, so it really is less like armor and more like their actual flesh
Death Shriek seems like it does better damage vs. Saurus than the Magma Cannons were dealing per shot (not dps, think the magma cannon fires faster), which makes sense. It's got a greater explosion range and better armor piercing, Turin fires a shot off into one at 15:05 for example. It did 15% of the Saurus unit's health in one shot, that's significant damage considering they have 10,200 HP spread between 100 models, alongside the unit's spread out nature. I think it fairs better with it's anti-infantry shot vs. units like the Saurus Warriors and other durable units with loose formations. The rockets seem better suited for these kinda targets, their spread seems perfect to land square hits on them.
Listening to your half-thought incorrect assessments on unit meta is half the reason im subscribed. If you say a tactic or unit is bad I use it as a guide on what to try next.
The Deathshriek is like a more mobile Bolt thrower. It has the benefit of armor piercing and an allrounder unit at the cost of Damage. The assessment that its good when you dont know what the enemy will bring is probably the msot correct one as it describes this unit well. Its better for Campaign when you fight different armies.
that "contempt" mechanic should imo be straight-up copy-pasted into the bretonnian faction. Peasants would get LD (smaller than the chorf bonus,bc grail reliquae would then make them nigh unbreakable), and knights would not care whether peasants rout or not (thereby also rendering the "expendable" trait obsolete and removable, at least for this faction.)

Am I the only one that thinks it's nuts that the k'daai destroyer only has 90 armor? I mean the thing is half living magma half unholy metal, it sohuld have 110 at the very least right? it's crazy that such a gigantic mosnter with 10000 health can go down so quickly to chameleon skink shooting and a couple of hits from some pretty mid-tier SEM's like bastiladons

I don't agree. Otherwise we end up with undead "crumbling" mechanic where they barely take any damage in return for being unbreakable. Necromancers with lord of the dead heals faster than crumbling deals damage.
@@ruukinen They're two different effects, and undead have vastly greater access to healing than daemons.
