I saw Coco three times in theaters and cried every single time!!! It's easily one of my all time favorite movies.

Blade Runner 2049 was my favourite film I saw last year. Left the cinema in such a weird melancholic mood but I loved it. Also, the Holiday was filmed where I grew up! I remember driving past and seeing the street all blocked off where they were filming

Lady Bird, Thor, The Shape of Water and The Big Sick were my absolute favorites that I saw in 2017. Also Loving Vincent was stunning and so beautiful. My favorite movie of all time which I think I watched three times this year is a Studio Ghibli called The Whisper of the Heart. It’s amazing and my absolute favorite movie and I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

The Holiday is legitimately one of my favorite movies of all time. I can't tell you how many times I've watched it. There was this one time years ago when I went on vacation with my family, and all I ended up doing was watching The Holiday. It's such a good movie. And I completely agree about Jude Law being peak sexy in it. And Jack Black gives one of his best performances. The whole thing is just great.

“Call Me by Your Name” is an absolute winner for me. I’ve been struggling a bit with movies this year, but this one I already saw twice, basically back to back, and I just cannot get enough of it. So beautiful, so sunny, so far removed from all the worries that all of us have been having re politics and social issues and stuff... Kind of the “La La Land” of 2017 - a majestically simple love story, a story of coming of age and having the best parents on earth, a story of living and loving in the most natural and intuitive of ways... And of course the scenery and the soundtrack are gorgeous. Really recommend it!

I see a ton of films because I love going to the cinema. Wonder Woman was my absolute favourite film of last year. I'm obsessed. The music, the plot, the action scenes, Gal Gadot, the Amazons, the World War 2 setting; I love everything about it. Saw it three times in cinema and dragged two friends and my sister along :')

Definitely The Greatest Showman was my favorite film of 2017. Probably one of the most joyful cinema experiences I've had in years. The music is magical. The cast is incredible. The choreography is mind blowing. It's so so so good. (PT Barnum was definitely a very problematic person IRL, though.)

One of my favourites that I saw at the cinema was the documentary Kedi which is about stray cats in Istanbul. It's such a lovely film! It's on iTunes and Amazon now. Also loved T2 Trainspotting, The Big Sick and The Glass Castle.

Hidden Figures and Get Out were also big highlights for me in 2017! I also really loved Lion, it's definitely a tear jerker though. And not in 2017 but yesterday I watched Coco which was also wonderful and I'd really recommend!

Try 'Call Me By Your Name'. I watched it at the end of 2017, lately I got into the music from the movie, and yesterday I finished the audiobook. I'm so taken by the idyllic Italian summer. It's poetic and just great, try it ;)

The Shape of Water. It was hard to find a cinema that was playing it, not very many picked it up but it's amazing. It's so simple and beautiful.

Totoro is my favourite Studio Ghibli film!! I think you'd probably like Kiki's Delivery Service as well! And the Holiday is my fave chick flick and my favourite holiday film! And Hidden Figures I think was my favourite 2017 film. I saw it 4 times in cinemas and was just blown away by it. Thor comes a close second because it was amazing and the Australian-ness of it made me very happy :D

That’s so wild. My friend and I were just talking about how our twenties suck and I mentioned “13 Going On 30” and how now I kinda relate to the wanting to be “Thirty, flirty, and thriving.” Of course it’s ridiculous, but I now kinda understand where that character was coming from. I sure didn’t feel like that when I was 13 though....

I'm glad you liked Get Out! I still need to read the book and go see Hidden Figures. I thought Thor 3 was good but I didn't understand why they made it into a comedy; it was different for me than the seriousness of the past 2 Thor movies but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It's so weird that my most favorite film I saw in 2017 is The Foreigner starring Jackie Chan. I saw the trailer like several months before it premiered, and I did put it on my list of movies to see within the year and totally forgot about it. It wasn't until my friends invited me on the weekend of the premier that I finally remembered and I decided to just to spontaneously go out and watch the film. It's a great thriller and it was nice seeing Jackie back in action, as well as Katie Leung (Cho Chang). ^^ Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, and 13 Going on 30, are some of my favorite films Glad you enjoyed them. :D

I haven't seen The Last Jedi yet, but I'm very curious about it, because I wonder if it'll make up for The Force Awakens which I thought was really bad.

mabusestestament I loved TLJ, it does have a slightly different feeling then the originals, which I know a lot of people didn't agree with, but personally I kinda liked that. It didn't feel like they were just rehashing. It was not my fave one, but I think it was definitely worth the watch. (Then again I also liked TFA. So you might not agree. Lol.😂 Although they are not really the same)

For some reason I didn't watch a lot of movies this year and I didn't go to the cinema once, I feel like all that's coming out are Star Wars or Marvel movies which is a bit frustrating when you're still trying to catch up on all of them ^^ But this year I discovered My Own Private Idaho and as soon as I watched it made it into my "favourite movies of all time" list, such a beautiful film. I also discovered the music documentary It Might Get Loud, which started my obsession with Jack White haha

  • @LauraDFTBA
    @LauraDFTBA 7 ปีที่แล้ว

I had such a slow year for films in 2017 (I have this 'thing' where I feel like I can't go to the cinema alone because it's not fun if you can't share the experience), the only film I saw in cinema was 'Loving Vincent'. Even though the plot was a little more docu-drama than your typical movie, the animation just blew me away and I am SO happy they've gotten an Oscar nomination for it.
However, I am aiming to go and see 'The Shape of Water' when it's released in the UK... mid February I think?

My best friend's mum once said I reminded her of the girl in 13 Going On 30. Not the actress, which would have been flattering, but the actual child in an adult's body character -_-
Anyway my favourite films last year were probably Down By Law (saw it for the first time at a screening) and Thor. Can't wait to see Lady Bird!

You didn't mention The Greatest Showman so I'm gonna just throw it out there, because oh sweet jesus did I love it. the songs, the cast, everything in this movie is just absolutely breathtaking ! might I ad, there's only one other movie that has had me in tears this many times, but unlike the other, in this film they were (mainly) all happy tears. If you're into musicals (or even if you're not) I'd give it go.
also I like Lost River (directed by Ryan Gosling ) that's like a modern neon noir-esque fairytale. some people haven't liked it though, but I just think you can't go wrong watching a movie with Saoirse Ronan in it
