    Really wish Bethesda would use the betas system on steam, they could let you go back to different versions of the game with a mouseclick and bring it back, some games I play do that, (Stellaris mainly), and it is so nice to not have to break all the old saves with every update.

      It has nothing to do with the CC content. It has everything to do with the new engine and graphics update. In my opinion that is totally okay because it needed it anyway but it breaks graphics and engine (60 FPS for example) mods. It also breaks survival mods like iNeed and Wet/Cold. I am by no means disregarding the hard work of the modding community in these areas I mentioned because I dearly appreciate them for their creativity and creating mods. I sincerely hope they update their mods to the new graphic engine so I can play.

    I'm already dreading the AE update. Yes I have my game set to not update in steam and pretty much will 'freeze' what I have downloaded in Mod Organizer 2 until one day we maybe get an upgraded SKSE but it feels like we are starting over from square one again with Skyrim Special Edition. I was a really early adopter of SSE before SKSE was finished and I released a few mods on Nexus to support SSE. Now I'm gunna have to worry about if/when they need to be updated for AE but I don't want to lose all the SKSE features pre-AE so I cant update my game or the CK (if the CK gets updated with AE) so it might be a very annoying waiting game ...
    We're gunna have like 2 types of mods in the SSE Nexus pool, pre-AE and post-AE and its going to be really confusing for users to figure out which is which and I can see people downloading the wrong thing and wondering why its not working.

    Out of curiosity, how many people are even interested in the Anniversary Edition. When Special Edition was released there was enough of an incentive to upgrade to it, and even then many did not. But at this point in Skyrim's development life I don't see what they're adding to AE that makes it worth having. If you're playing a modded Skyrim you probably have the game you want, and if you're not playing a modded Skyrim then the risk to mods doesn't really matter.
    Maybe I'm missing something.

    • @TechSupportDave
      @TechSupportDave 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I only care about mods. If they aren't gonna improve mod compatibility somehow, then there is literally zero reason for me to buy another Skyrim.
      Already purchased Skyrim TWICE, and now I'm using my friend's library for SSE without buying it.
      AE from what I heard so far is just not gonna be mod-friendly and the devs dont care about mods.
      If that's true, there is absolutely zero reason for modders to update their game.
      If I weren't using mods, I probably wouldn't bother with the paid update either.
      I seriously doubt it offers enough new content to justify whatever insane pricing the update is going to have.
      (Keep in mind that mods are FREE. You're objectively wasting money if they're just gonna unleash a normal update with "a bit" of content)

  • @Leubast
    @Leubast 3 ปีที่แล้ว +30

    I would say "realistically" it may take a few months to about a year to "fix" everything, excluding mods that are abandoned with no open permissions. But, this kind of thing has happened before when SSE first released and there was no SKSE for it. Modders made mods without SKSE and versions of their own mods with SKSE functionality removed. Then after what I think was about a year and a half, SKSE64 was working perfectly and modders started making SKSE mods again, so I think we'll see the same thing happen and that same thing will continue to happen until about 3-5 years after TESVI releases.
    If there's one thing about the modding community as whole we've learned this past decade, it's that we are creative and resilient.
