    Really helpful thank you. I battled with my 718 and thought it sounded rubbish after spending a lot of cash.

      Yes, as I said in a previous video, would I prefer the QSC? Yes, but that is 1700 more. So I have found a way that I can run these deeper and louder. So I am happy. Thanks for the encouragement! I hope all goes well!

    Very informative video, i need your suggestions on how is the performance of JBL EON 718S SUBWOOFER indoor and outdoor.
    How is the bass response.
    Which one do you suggestions between Bose SUB 2 or JBL EON 718S SUBWOOFER.
    PLEASE LOOKING FOR YOUR RESPONSE

      Indoors, the Bose would win simply because of the specs and you don't need a large max SPL indoors unless it is a large venue. Outdoors, I prefer the EON 718s mainly because of the throw. Indoors, the EON 718s will fool you, because they will shake the pictures off the walls, but any decent sub can do that. They are not going to WOW you like the QSC subs for 2grand, but outdoors, the EON's sound great IF you do a couple of things. Proper Crossover, Place both subs center stage and be sure to mix your sound properly and professionally. Even the best sub will sound poorly if not used appropriately. The Bose's throw outdoors may be just as good, so I may be speaking from ignorance.

    Hi John, glad i found your video. i just upgraded to the EON700 series 715 & 718s. i was wondering if i may ask how to update firmware. i am having trouble with it. i get to the install to 100% and then fails. it says it cant connect to speaker. Thoughts.

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Phil, they have to be paired again at the speaker after the update. You most likely tried this. Also, in the ipad/iphone, turning off BT, clears the cache and facilitates reconnect. This is scary, though.

      @@philperez9258 Hi Phil, so, I encountered the problem you originally posted. Failed Firmware Update, then can’t connect. Here is what I did. I unplugged the speaker, installed JBL connect on my android phone, launched JBL connect, plugged in my speaker, let it boot (thank God it did boot), looked on my android phone in system>BT and sure enough, no speaker showed up. However, I went to the app and it showed as an offering to connect. So I went to the speaker>setup>BT connect and pressed it (it gives you 30s to connect) went the app, pressed connect then it said “Validating” went back to the speaker, to the screen where it had a Yes/No option. I highlighted and selected Yes. The speaker was added. Then I updated the firmware with my Android connected to my home Wi-Fi and had the phone very close to the speaker. The Firmware updated completely. I turned off my phone and started my iPad. I updated JBL connect. In System>Bluetooth the speaker did not show. Then I figured the Firmware changed Bluetooth connectivity to only BLE. So I launched the app, hit Add Speaker, and there it was. I went through the steps again, of enabling BT visibility on the speaker for 30s etc. The speaker was added perfectly and works well. I added both of my subs, paired them and locked them so they can only be controlled with the app. I hope you got yours working. If not. Maybe this will help.

    Hi John, totally understand about wasted sub waves will this pa2 improve my audio tighter/limter/headroom for subs and tops. I have 114a tops unreal when playing direct hi def bluetooth compared to music/djing

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I already had the PA2 with my passive setup. I TriAmped the system and the PA2 was stellar! Then I got these active subs, flattened the eq, and the PA2 made them sound better than the on-board equipment with the 718s. I put all speakers through the PA2, and did the Level and EQ wizard per venue. Seems the PA2 gets it right every time. But the PA2 is almost $600 nowadays. When I bought mine it was $280. So, is the PA2 worth $600? No. I would just get a cheap behringer crossover maybe.

    How do I reconnect my subwoofer to the JBL

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi James. First I would make sure that no other speaker is on except one of the subwoofers (718S), then I would not try to connect to the subwoofer via the Bluetooth in the Settings in IOS since the subs connect via the app using BLE (Bluetooth low energy). So, the 718s will not appear as an offering when you scan for it as you would scan for your air pods or any other Bluetooth device. Being that it is BLE, you can only connect to the sub if you use the app. Secondly, you will need to add speaker and the single powered up speaker SHOULD come up as an offering. Once you tap it to connect, it will just sit there and do nothing. That is because after tapping the speaker in the app, you have to go over to the sub and select "Yes" on the screen to accept the pair. This is a very common issue that is very scary to many users because they think the speaker may be defective. It is not. If you need more support I can walk you through it. After the speaker is connected, be sure to update the firmware right away. The app and connectivity are frustrating for SEVERAL users. Powering the speaker off for 1 minute and powering back on with all other speakers off resolves issues and using a different iPad or android device can also help. Let me know if you need more help. This sub will work just fine, we may need to connect if it seems impossible to connect. Good luck!

    Is this only with working wit a cross over or can I set the eq like that with out crossover

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You don't need an active crossover. You just need to understand crossovers. I use the eq included in this sub as my crossovers now. However, if you done want to mess with the eq/filter in this sub, an active crossover makes it easier IMHO.

    When I go to pair to the subwoofer I keep getting a speaker failed to sync
    I followed the directions an it even gives me the pairing code then when I hit connect on the subwoofer it gives me that error message. Is it a bad woofer? With JBL I wouldn't expect to have any issues which is why I went with JBL. Very disappointed. Do you have any ideas for troubleshooting? I called JBL but they're not there on weekends an I bought this for a gig later on tonight

    • @CaliforniaCreedence
      @CaliforniaCreedence  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you are using an IOS device be sure that you did NOT pair through the IOS BT. If you did be sure to Forget the device in IOS BT. The speaker connects via BT a different way. After you have hit forget device in BT, turn off BT on the IOS device and then re enable it. Then hit the BT pairing from Setup on the speaker, open JBL Connect on you IOS device (or android), the device will be available for connecting, hit connect, and immediately go back to the screen on the back of the JBL and hit Yes to verify the connection. Then it will be connected for use. Do all pairing through the JBL speaker and JBL connect app, do not do any pairing through the OS BT connect. It fails because it is waiting for you to walk up to the back of the speaker to hit YES on Verify connect.
