    One thing you can do in canva also is when adjusting the size, grab an edge and move slowly... It will show you the height and width, you can write it down and boom no more guessing. GREAT video.

    Thank you so much!❤️ I have a question for you. What do you choose for variant visibility? When posting a new listing from printify to Etsy. I noticed that if you choose to display out of stock items as “out of stock” or to completely hide them if they’re out of stock, you’ll have to go back in manually whenever they become available back in stock. Or at least, I’ve had to do that so I started choosing all items available and if they are out of stock I’ll use an replacement store or I’ll message the customer and offer other color options or a refund. Could you possibly make a video on how to handle out of stock situations!😁❤️ it would help a lot of us out. Especially with the holidays coming up. I want to be prepared since Im still a newish Etsy seller and wasn’t there last year to learn from it. You’re also the only Etsy you tuber I’ll ever listen to because you’re honest and describe things with such detail. I appreciate you! 💛 thank you for taking your time to teach us.

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I choose to have Printify show all variants as in stock so I can just have a different print provider fulfill it if my preferred one does not have that variant in stock right now. I'll see about making a video on it, maybe I'll make one about how to prepare for the holidays in general and include some tips of out of stock items too. Really appreciate your kind words in the comment as well, I am so glad you are liking my videos!!

    Hey Cassiy,
    I'm struggling about mockups. How do you manage that matter? I mean, selling shirts for Halloween for example would ask a kind of mockups, different than Christmas.
    So, do you have a bunch of mockups and use them accordingly to the theme season, or it would be more efficient just using neutral themed mockups?
    And what about the shirts colors? We know that providers such as Monster Digital have a tone of shirts colors. Do you list all of them or do you select only the best sellers?
    Thank you.

    Okay I’m stuck trying to figure out how to get canva to put the image behind the models hair. Some of the mock-ups I have the models hair is in the way and so I have to shrink the look of the design. There have been some gorgeous mock-ups I’ve seen from a successful shop where the design was behind the models hair. How do you deal with this?

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So I should have made this part of the video today, in Canva there is only one way to do it and it's not ideal. You add the png onto of your mockup, then you click "edit" on the png. Then you want to select "remove background", this will then give you the option to erase part of the png. Unfortunantley though, this does not let you see the mockup underneath at the same time so it's a trial and error going back and forth until you can get it right.
      I still use the Godaddystudio app sometimes for this as well, it should be free to use if you are not wanting to use any of their graphics, they have a website as well and they have a "mask" feature that makes this quick and easy!

    Great content once again 🙂I jumped over to Etsy to start shopping for ready-made mockups and noticed seasonal-themed mockups for Fall or Halloween and started adding to cart but wondered if I should just get generic mockups instead to avoid paying for more generic versions later? In your experience, do these themed mockups attract more customers to your listings? Additionally, I noticed that Sizing mockups show all sizes on them and I won't offer all sizes. Does this create more customer inquiries when using these?

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd recommend offering all of the sizes that your print provider has and if you can, find a size chart that match just to avoid confusion.
      As for the mockups, I think one or two seasonal ones are nice! I don't have any proof that these help with conversions but the main thing to focus on is just having great mocks in general. So whichever works best for you! You are fine buying just generic ones.

    Great Video! One of the things that I noticed when searching for mockups is that there is not a lot of POC mockup stores. I see a lot of cute shirt mockups that I would love to use but can’t because my store is catered to black women/girls that it would not make sense to use them. But I am keeping an eye out just in case I decide to add more generalized t-shirts to my other POD Etsy shop.

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You want to save the mockups as a JPEG file so it is more compressed. We don't need the mockups to be PNG's since we don't need the transparent aspect of it. You will be uploading these directly to Etsy, not onto the Print on demand partners website. Sometimes if you save a mockup as a PNG, then it will be too large to upload onto Etsy. Hope that helps!

    But I don't understand how can you just take random mock up pictures because they are different tshirts then the once I'm using so they will have a different fit on the person in the picture so doesn't give a good image of how the shirt will actually fit on somebody.

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  ปีที่แล้ว

      You only want to buy mock-ups of the exact shirt you are selling. Sure it’ll fit everyone a little different but it’s a normal unisex shirt so most people will get a good idea of the sleeve length etc

  • @JohnVanderbeck

    Honestly I have the same beef with every mockup I've seen sold, and that is that the design just lays flat on the shirt which looks so fake. It needs to distort and displace to match the surface of the shirt and the model wearing it. I won't say this is easy to do because it isn't, but it could be setup as a template in Photoshop that would allow you to simply drop in your design. Does anyone sell these?

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  ปีที่แล้ว

      Someone out there probably does sell that kind but honestly if you look at what’s selling on Etsy, 99% of them are these types of mock-ups. So just lower the opacity and try to make it semi real looking and people really don’t care! Don’t let that hold you back or distract you from the stuff that will make you money. You’ve got this, don’t overthink it!

      5. Select "Custom size" at the top
      6. It should auto populate the size and you just click "create new design"
      Or since now thumbnails are squares on Etsy, you could just create a custom canvas In the size 2700 x 2700 and then add your design to it!

    I'm designing multiple items in Printify for my Shopify/Etsy stores. I have a lot of product, but I haven't opened the stores because I don't like the look of them. Finding mockups for women's shirts and t-shirts is easy. Men's clothing, women's (besides tees and sweatshirts) clothing like skirts, home decor, etc are giving me a harder time. I can't find all the mockups I need for the various items. Any ideas? You're right, Printify's mockups are terrible, but it seems like that's what I'm stuck with for the most part.

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think you are trying to tackle too many things all at once. I’d recommend getting started with just shirts and learning how to effectively design for those before trying to sell other products instead. And you can just use unisex or flat lay shirt mocks for the guys. The most important thing is to just get started and start learning asap in my opinion! Then as you get successful with one product. Then you can look into adding another!

  • @carolynmunn6204

    When I started an Etsy shop 8 yrs ago, it seemed like the thinking with thumbnails was having a cohesive look for all of them and no distracting backgrounds. (Until recently, all my items were made and shipped by me, so I took all the photos.) I love the pretty mock-ups as your thumbnails but wouldn’t a customer also want to see just a simple photo of the item, like the ones from printify? Would that really hurt a sale if you had one or two of those?

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The mockup is a real photo of the shirt on a real person in real life. The printify ones is a computer generated random shirt laying completely flat and lifeless. I don't think they do the shirt any justice. I would get a flat lay mockup that you purchase if anything. It's not like those are real pictures of the design actually printed on them either.

    There's something I don't get at all with the mockups. Let's say that we want to sell some shirt which is not the typical white/black t-shirt, but with shorter sleeves, or some random stuff that is away from a standard t-shirt.
    What about the mockups then? I mean, you need to find an EXACT mockup (ofc, adding your design later on) of the shirt you want to sell from Printify or whatever other provider, otherwise customer will reject his order once received. What then?¿

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most popular items on printify have mocks available on Etsy, so I’d just search for that shirt + mock-up on Etsy and make sure to only use photos of the exact item. Then you shouldn’t ever have any issues!

      You want to show what the color looks like for every color yes, that can either be a mockup or you could have a few mockups and then a color chart. You can purchase color charts on Etsy but please do not purchase a color chart with colors on it that you are not going to offer in your listing. They should be able to buy every color they see in your listings page!

Or just try with your phone, upload them and see if it is any good, just be honest with yourself, would you use them? You can even just order one shirt and use natural lighting so it's not a big commitment!

    Hello and thank you for your videos... I am a new subscriber and I started watching your free course training. I have a couple questions though. So in the Printify settings set up: In the order routing section on my screen under the "enable order routing" there is a section that you skipped over that's asking for "Max additional cost per item (incl shipping)*" And allow routing for either exact product matches only or similar product matches (if exact is unavailable)....can you tell me a little bit more about these and if they are NA or do they need to be messed with??
    Also your screen shows "Order view Settings" you clicked on "Show all orders" but on my screen I don't even see "order view settings" under the "order approval" section...it just goes straight to the "Tracking Notifications" section. So that has me a little confused. But something I noticed on mine that's different from yours is right under the "Tracking Notifications" section there is a grey box that says within it "Settings only apply to Manual and Sample orders"
    If you could help me with a little clarity on these two issues I would appreciate you so much...I need all this to work!!

      You don't have to fill up every single slot in your listing. I usually just reuse the same 3-4 mockups over and over in every listing. Thank you so so much for all of your videos - they are some of the best I've ever seen! For when you sell multiple colors of a shirt, is it better for SEO to create 1 individual listing per shirt while showing showing multiple color mockups and saying something like "view my full store for more color options" so you can be in search results multiple times OR have 1 listing and then they can select multiple colors from the dropdown for the order? I'm leaning towards the first option to create more listings overall but I'm nervous that I could potentially confuse the buyer by showing multiple colors on 1 listing and them not realizing which one they're getting.

    Hi Cassiy, is there a way I can fix blurry mockup photos once I upload them on etsy. I have the right pixels and they are perfectly fine and crisp when I make them on canva? I haven’t been able to list on etsy because of this and it’s so frustrating.

    Hi found you a few days ago and your videos are so good and helpful. But I need help!! I downloaded my design as transparent background but when I go to put on the Mockup it's not transparent!?!? It just fills the whole design area over the photo.

    HI Cassiy, thank you so much for all your videos they are extremely helpful. I have a question about saving the design (not on a mockup) what size or PX is best to save at so the quality in printify will be the best? I feel like I seen you explain it in another video but can not seem to find it now.
