OMG! this canva tutorial on erasing the image around the hair just saved me. i made the rookie mistake of not thinking about hair placement when purchasing my mock ups.
Oh my gosh. I could cry. Thank you SO much Heather for the shoutout for my mockup shop, MoneyMaker Mockups! I appreciate you and all the amazing info you put out!
Ommmmmmg Samantha!! I LOVE your mockups so so much, I'm a big fan! Definitely an OG buyer of most of your mockups when you began with the mockup store. Love love love you somehow found this video! We should connect sometime, email me at hello@heatherxstudio.com(or I will email you either way haha!). 💕
Heather!! Thank you for the shout out to my shop Moonlit Mockups! I love all of your videos and you've really helped me grow some of my shops! You're amazing, keep up the great work!!
One thing I did in the beginner was purchase a mockup bundle, some even have "whole shop" bundles. If they add new ones it goes straight into your google drive and becomes available for you at no extra cost! They're not all home runs, and some bundles are more expensive starting out but it helps in the beginning because you get different holidays along with the everyday mockups!
Genius on erasing part of a design that would be covered by something in the mock-up, like hair!!!! I needed this info a few weeks ago, but so glad to know this now!!
Great tips especially on the hair. I've been using PS but Canva is a lot quicker and while I use Canva for a lot of other tasks, i wasn't sure how to do the design placement behind hair on mockups. Much appreciated! Keep the tips coming!!! 😊😊😊
Please do a video on accurate design PLACEMENT on the shirts so that it will match what the customer gets. How far down from the neckline should we place it? How wide should we make it? How to decide what transparency to use? Thank-you!
Excellent tips Heather! Thank you for such a great video! Would you do a video showing how big you make your designs for different size shirts? I know some pods automatically size them down for smaller sizes but I'd love to know how big you make your designs for shirts and sweatshirts. Thanks!
Started listing POD products on my shop a week ago, I will definitely take the steps you shared to improve mockup quality. Thank you for sharing all your tips! God bless
Thank you for all of the information. I followed along with a previous video to set up my Etsy/canva/printify accounts and made a first item listing, however I’m confused how to show the mock-up in different colors shirts that you’ve included in a listing? I hope this makes sense, I’m super new. Thanks again! 😊
I'm new too so this is the blind leading the blind. However, I purchased several mockups in the colors I'm promoting and I've purchased bundle mockups that have almost all the the colors of a shirt. ex. Bella 3001. I'll do a few action lays and and then display the rest in flat lay mockups. Hope that helps :)
Great tutorial Heather! Despite what we may think, customers really do pay attention to these seemingly small details as you've shown. Please keep up the great work with making these videos👍
Love the detail in your videos . I have suspected that the transparency on these mock ups needs to be lower but saw so many videos saying they were doing 90-95%. I was doing 85 -92 but going lower is a good idea. I also have had the issue of mock up consistently placement . I think it all comes down to being willing to get the right mock ups that allow you to be consistent . Great practical content . Thank you .
Hey Heather! Love this, put a lot of my concerns to ease. I wanted to know if it's advisable to mix up the mock-ups across your listings, as I've seen some stores do really well with the same repeated hanging white tee mockup, but I've gone and used different lifestyle mockups across my own listings. I'm concerned it's creating indecision within buyers or coming across as disingenuous as I'm occasionally re-using a few of the models. I hope that makes sense!
Thanks for the video. How many different mockups would you recommend using in a single Etsy listing? I typically use 5-6 from Placeit, pulse the Color and size chart page
Through purchasing my own samples and getting picture reviews from customers I have gained experience for having the 'eye for fading' haha! Sweatshirts generally come out less vibrant/more faded but BC 3001 and t-shirts usually come out more vibrant due to t-shirt material and ink being infused.
Thank you Heather. I had purchased some nice mockups but I’m having so much trouble import to import from printify generator to the mockups in Etsy? Im not sure if i explained my self right.
this was very helpful Heather - I am curious about reducing transparency - do you do that for every graphic? and that's what you put in printify for the tshirt itself?? I tried looking for another video of yours that might address this deeper... thoughts?
Hi! I saw your question and thought maybe I could help. I think she means that she reduces the opacity on all of her listing images however do not reduce the opacity for the image you upload to Printify to be printed on your shirt. I hope that helps!
Hi Heather, thanks for this video. I've heard that Etsy is shutting down print-on-demand stores using mockups. I've also heard they are also shutting down mockup stores as well. Do you know why are they doing this? What is with POD and the mockups that they don't like? Thanks in advance!
Hey Lesley, there is a lot of incorrect rumors circulating and Etsy is not shutting down mockup shops nor Etsy and POD shops. Etsy has not made any statements about this rumor sweeping but the issue, as far as I know, is not with POD or mockups and may just be Etsy accidentally and coincidentally suspending listings using similar mockups on listings from what I've heard and seen. Hopefully this helps and calms any panic!
Hi Heather, when I click on the print on demand academy link in your TH-cam description it says the page doesn’t exist. May I know which course should I buy on your website to learn POD and scale my store to figures like you have done with your store?
I wish I had waited before purchasing the PlaceIt mockups. They aren't the best and see better ones on Etsy. Should I count that as a loss and purchase new ones from Etsy or try and make it work with the PlaceIt mockups?
I have canva pro and I've never seen any kind of Transparency slider. And I'm watching this video on A phone so I can't see where your mouse pointer is. But I still don't even understand how you know how to set that even if I could find it I wouldn't know how to workout how much I need to slide it one way or the other. I just click the button for download with transparent background.
Help. I created a mock up on canva and uploaded it to etsy and it uploaded as blurry and fuzzy and out of focused. Did I do the wrong size? Was it supposed to be jpeg or png saved as?
Does anyone think that using mock ups from places like place it can affect the algorithm in a negative way if you do a reverse search on your listing image and it comes back with thousands of image matches because of that mock up does that affect you in a negative way?
Hi Billye, saw your question and thought I might be able to help. Most mockup shops do not set a limit for the number of times you can use that image in your Etsy shop. I hope that helps!
@@tiffanybell303 yea ill reach out to a fellow craft buddy who is a stay at home mom and just pay her. She helps me in my other projects like glow in the dark resin etc.
You can hire a Fiverr designer but I would suggest not allowing someone to have your passwords/etc. I would just assign them to place designs onto mockups and do half of the time consuming process and then you can upload the new mockup images as a main thumbnail. Also, some stores have been flagged/suspended due to another sign in from a different IP address. I've hear stories of others hiring a virtual assistant to do customer service and that same VA worked for a other shop that got shut down so their store also got shut down~ just a word of caution!

I just bought an art mural mockup on Etsy for less then 2$ . look very pro
Appreciate the content for mock up mistakes! These tips will come in hand.
Very informative. I got great mock-ups for my digital items. Didn’t think to do it for my tshirts. Thanks
Lifesaver with the transparency tip!! Thank you!
Heather I'm SHOOK at the Erase tool in canva 🤣 Game changer!! Thank you!
Hahaha, loved this comment!! You always give me a good laugh Amber! 😂
i have never heard about the transparency thingy, thanks!
love that u put bloopers

Once again Heather thank you so much for this info. I'm getting my mock ups now as we speak🙏
Great video🎉 other interesting topics, workflow and time management now that you are an Etsy pro🎉

Love this video! Thank you. I would love to see a tutorial on photoshop for removing part of the design. 😊

Thanks for the hair tip! Love MoneyMakerMockups too :)

thanks for the vid but would love a vid on mockups for art rather than clothing items?
GREAT video! Mock-ups are one of the most important things 💛

Love it! I’m new to the channel, do you create the design on canva then place onto a mock-up on printify then?
Thank you for the tips!! How do you figure out what transparency to use on a mock-up compared to what it will look like once printed on a product?
Through purchasing my own samples and getting picture reviews from customers I have gained experience for having the 'eye for fading' haha! Sweatshirts generally come out less vibrant/more faded but BC 3001 and t-shirts usually come out more vibrant due to t-shirt material and ink being infused.

Heather if you put a sublimination graphic from Creative Fabrica on a shirt, does it print well ? Not sure if these are ideal fir POD.
Hi Heather, thanks for this video. I've heard that Etsy is shutting down print-on-demand stores using mockups. I've also heard they are also shutting down mockup stores as well. Do you know why are they doing this? What is with POD and the mockups that they don't like? Thanks in advance!

It's opacity 👍
Heather, I don't ever see where these links are that you tell us to check out when you point below. What am I supposed to click on?
Hi Heather, when I click on the print on demand academy link in your TH-cam description it says the page doesn’t exist. May I know which course should I buy on your website to learn POD and scale my store to figures like you have done with your store?
It’s also a free feature in go daddy studios
Hi Tiffany, what feature is free in Go Daddy? I would love to know and do a tutorial later if something is free!
Does anyone know how to do this in Place it? I dont see a transparency option or do most mockup website account for that already?
Do you have to purchase a mock-up for every single listing if you want to use a different color shirt?
I wish I had waited before purchasing the PlaceIt mockups. They aren't the best and see better ones on Etsy. Should I count that as a loss and purchase new ones from Etsy or try and make it work with the PlaceIt mockups?
Have the same question

Also does anyone know if I went into Etsy directly and uploaded my mockups only there should I also do it on Printifys end? Do they need to match?
Does anyone think that using mock ups from places like place it can affect the algorithm in a negative way if you do a reverse search on your listing image and it comes back with thousands of image matches because of that mock up does that affect you in a negative way?
Mockup from society 6, can be use on etsy?
Is the transparency reduced in Canva (or design program) or on Etsy (or marketplace)?
Do you have to buy a new mock-up for every single listing?
Hi Billye, saw your question and thought I might be able to help. Most mockup shops do not set a limit for the number of times you can use that image in your Etsy shop. I hope that helps!
Mockups for jewelry ?
I have to re-do over 100 listings because I didn't use mockups. Can I hire someone to fix all these? 🤦♂️
You don’t want to put that your business in the hands of someone else. Maybe an older child or family member could help instead
@@tiffanybell303 yea ill reach out to a fellow craft buddy who is a stay at home mom and just pay her. She helps me in my other projects like glow in the dark resin etc.

Make it a video 11:58
i just changed all the transparency and reuploaded lol
There is way to get free mock-ups tho.. it feels like stealing but, it’s a mock-up anyways:/
You just have to know how to photoshop
My thumbnails are zoomed out smh -.-
Super helpful! Thanks so much.
