I was unfairly banned about a month ago on a fairly new account. Fortunately, my appeal was approved and my account has been recovered. I didnt log into the recovered account for abt another week, and when I did I discovered that recovered account had been hacked and someone started botting on it. I quickly set up my authentication for that account so that it wouldnt be accessed by a stranger any longer. Idk if my acc was logged into by a hacker before or after the ban. My word of advice is to set up an authenticator so u dont lose your account to hacking botters.

I made a HCIM account last Saturday and the day after on Sunday I got bannend while I was playing. I only used Runelite and nothing else. I’ve been false banned on legitimate throwaway accounts several times over the years. Luckily they weren’t of too much value, but it’s still annoying to invest time in them and have them wiped out for no reason. Meanwhile so many real bots go undetected with really high stats (post-99, even 200M XP).
People need to stop blaming the victims and saying "well they could have been cheating". Yeah and the center of the moon could be made of cheese, but you have to prove it first and obviously jagex ban alone is not ACTUALLY EVIDENCE. Siding with a company that has a history of false bans and corruption over a fellow player, I see a lot of these company simps nowadays. Id rather have 10 players botting than 1 player falsely banned. At this point i dont even care if its just a guy with 1 account botting like a main for his own personal reasons, the problem is the bot farms and boss KC bots. So after years not playing RuneScape I made it back Yesterday to this great game. I made a hardcore Ironman and today I get perm bannend for using third party software. I only played for 4 hours in total and the highest skill I got is lvl 25 magic. I also got lvl 23 ranged and lvl 4 mining. I got bannend when I walked away from the mining spot, Isn’t that beautiful? I’m really pissed of tbh.

After investigating it says it was for macroing...I have NEVER used third party software, shit i don't even use runelite....and yet I just got a temp ban for something I didn't do. This is from an account with 99 mining and 92 smithing.... Oh btw I was mining runite ore yesterday in the heroes guild, so there was a lot of world hopping but that doesn't break any rules....I'm furious

Logged in for the 1st time since the Christmas event and my 200 hour account has been banned for maco/botting... Had authenticator enabled.. now on day 4 of waiting for a mod to review my appeal. Never once used bots or macro so Jagex's detection system is busted. Was playing via steam not even using runelite or anything :/
1:49 is me, i have to say it was not a fun experience at all. Fortunately i struck gold by getting help from a mod on reddit, i just wish others could be as lucky.
Saw from some discords that the reason bans are up right now is because of Twitch Prime Gaming. This means that people with prime can get 7 days of membership for free, and there are bots that basically are able to generate all this stuff without spending any money what so ever, so basically free unlmited 7 day membership, so there is an influx of bots entering the game. Everytime this happens they tighten their anticheat and the ban rates go up. Honeslty With how many people are using cheat clients, I say most of them are legitament. There may be some true false negatives, but just because you have a following doesn't make you automatically true. If you try checking current amount of players online you will notice it's usually over 100k+ when a few weeks ago I think I saw it around 70-80k just for an example.
This is why I quit playing around this time last year. I really do love this game but, Jagex has horrible detection, and when I got banned last year for macro I started looking into people who were also wrongly banned and it wasn't this bad but it was still happening to people all be it uncommonly. Hopefully they can make their anticheat better so I can come back to the game because I was fucking pissed when my level 1700 character got 7 day banned with no appeal for no fuckin reason.
So basically, now is not a good time for me to rebuy membership. But Jagex and Runescape are not the first company to give out incorrect bans and not resolve them, nor will they be the last company to do it. Back when H1Z1 zombie survival game was new I thought it was cool, downloaded it, played for 4 hours and got perma banned now my steam account is permanently tarnished and the game company just gave me the same old copy pasted email that says "Sorry, we hold the right to ban players for any or no reason whatsoever". Also Steam doesnt give a shit either, there's nothing you can do with game companies, you don't own your accounts, you just rent them basically.
This games only reacts when there is money on the line, if u have spent thousand of hours maxing ur acc to get Falsely banned bring them to court. This is not a joke.

I don't use any botting programs or autoclickers, and only runelite. Go figure, letting my subscription expire. I logged into some old accounts a year ago and found them to be banned for macroing. I appealed and the support team investigated and I got unbanned. It just takes common sense and providing the right info for an account to get unbanned.
Right. So what is that "Right info" ? There is nothing that tells what you should provide for a ticket, there also should always be proof of what they "investigated", since having a litteral bot respond to you on twitter telling you they won't look into your request because you got banned for being a bot feels strange. Everyone cannot provide complete video proof of the entire life of their account either, they can't always prove everything through screenshots. This is not something that is normal for an MMO. There are a huge number of real people getting banned for things there is no real proof against. And EVEN if people had a surefire, 100% success rate way of getting unbanned, it is still ridiculous and inacceptable that they are getting banned without proof.
you have no idea what you are talking about, they didn't investigate anything, if you have old accounts that where banned/hacked for botting years in the past its almost a guaranteed unban because they can't prove anything and don't care to dig and check, I've had about 5 accounts i botted on back in the day unbanned just by saying I was hacked and dunno why its banned where as a recent ban they have all your Ip logins and other information and majority of the time its not even appealable and if you do you just get declined because they would rather ego you than admit they where wrong in first place

Jagex logic - deligate identifying bots and botters by creating a bot system that auto bots making decisions on who’s a bot and who’s not. Literally the cycle continues when the real solution is expanding the anti cheat department to cover every ban issue identified by the system and manually check them all. Real customer support is the “long term” system we all wish mod ash was talking about but unfortunately we all know this will never happen
You gotta also mention how Reddit Mods are constantly removing posts and comments, even when JMods are replying in the posts and providing customer support through there. It's just making Jagex look bad since they're silencing the paying playerbase.

I play both games, though I haven't played rs3 frequently since before covid. Osrs is probably less than 10% bots Rs3 has bots as well. It's more common for people to make bot farms on osrs because it's more popular.

A few years back they falsely banned the ex jmod gudi..he was a content creator and had contacts so got it resolved quickly

false ban today for 2 day from macro botting, i don't understand how they work. invest so much time in to never going to have the idea to risk it. now i'm scare to play again because i have done nothing so is possible to be permaben if i play. I’ve gotten two accounts to priff and had a few max levels with a nice gold stack and both got banned for macro had been playing the game for over 9 years on and off really sucked when I couldn’t fix the problem on either acc even after the appeal and trying to message mods or posting on the twitter I really want to play again but don’t want to waste my time and money getting a membership when I feel it would probably just happen again

Logged in for the 1st time since the Christmas event and my 200 hour account has been banned for maco/botting... Had authenticator enabled.. now on day 4 of waiting for a mod to review my appeal. Never once used bots or macro so Jagex's detection system is busted. Was playing via steam not even using runelite or anything :/
1:49 is me, i have to say it was not a fun experience at all. Fortunately i struck gold by getting help from a mod on reddit, i just wish others could be as lucky.
OSRS at this point is 80% bots. Jagex is shitting themselfs becuase if they ban them the real player numbers will show. The games a mess...
Saw from some discords that the reason bans are up right now is because of Twitch Prime Gaming. This means that people with prime can get 7 days of membership for free, and there are bots that basically are able to generate all this stuff without spending any money what so ever, so basically free unlmited 7 day membership, so there is an influx of bots entering the game. Everytime this happens they tighten their anticheat and the ban rates go up. Honeslty With how many people are using cheat clients, I say most of them are legitament. There may be some true false negatives, but just because you have a following doesn't make you automatically true. If you try checking current amount of players online you will notice it's usually over 100k+ when a few weeks ago I think I saw it around 70-80k just for an example.

This is why I quit playing around this time last year. I really do love this game but, Jagex has horrible detection, and when I got banned last year for macro I started looking into people who were also wrongly banned and it wasn't this bad but it was still happening to people all be it uncommonly. Hopefully they can make their anticheat better so I can come back to the game because I was fucking pissed when my level 1700 character got 7 day banned with no appeal for no fuckin reason.
So basically, now is not a good time for me to rebuy membership. But Jagex and Runescape are not the first company to give out incorrect bans and not resolve them, nor will they be the last company to do it. Back when H1Z1 zombie survival game was new I thought it was cool, downloaded it, played for 4 hours and got perma banned now my steam account is permanently tarnished and the game company just gave me the same old copy pasted email that says "Sorry, we hold the right to ban players for any or no reason whatsoever". Also Steam doesnt give a shit either, there's nothing you can do with game companies, you don't own your accounts, you just rent them basically.

I don't use any botting programs or autoclickers, and only runelite. Go figure, letting my subscription expire. I'm sad and disappointed in what was once a great company, I never in my almost 20 years playing Rs experienced anything like this before. Never before caught a ban or mute for that matter.

I logged into some old accounts a year ago and found them to be banned for macroing. I appealed and the support team investigated and I got unbanned. It just takes common sense and providing the right info for an account to get unbanned.
Right. So what is that "Right info" ? There is nothing that tells what you should provide for a ticket, there also should always be proof of what they "investigated", since having a litteral bot respond to you on twitter telling you they won't look into your request because you got banned for being a bot feels strange. Everyone cannot provide complete video proof of the entire life of their account either, they can't always prove everything through screenshots. This is not something that is normal for an MMO. There are a huge number of real people getting banned for things there is no real proof against.
And EVEN if people had a surefire, 100% success rate way of getting unbanned, it is still ridiculous and inacceptable that they are getting banned without proof.
you have no idea what you are talking about, they didn't investigate anything, if you have old accounts that where banned/hacked for botting years in the past its almost a guaranteed unban because they can't prove anything and don't care to dig and check, I've had about 5 accounts i botted on back in the day unbanned just by saying I was hacked and dunno why its banned
where as a recent ban they have all your Ip logins and other information and majority of the time its not even appealable and if you do you just get declined because they would rather ego you than admit they where wrong in first place

Jagex logic - deligate identifying bots and botters by creating a bot system that auto bots making decisions on who’s a bot and who’s not. Literally the cycle continues when the real solution is expanding the anti cheat department to cover every ban issue identified by the system and manually check them all. Real customer support is the “long term” system we all wish mod ash was talking about but unfortunately we all know this will never happen

honestly this and a few other reasons i wont even log into the game anymore. Runescape has a massive 'Jagex' problem at the moment and im not putting my account at risk by even logging in until they sort it out. at this point id rather see it end or never be updated again than have Jagex sink it any lower. im still pissed off with the whole sailing thing and then now they are just perma banning everyone for no reason. how did it get this bad.
