I remember years ago that one of my students did a commercial taping there! Wow they paid her a good chunck of money for a 30 second commercial...about $1000 / second!!!! She also got a $100 every time it played on every station around the country! Nice...approx. 1990's
Grew up so close to there on Lakewood Blvd for 20 years and only went there once, but never in the museum. Now, I live like 10mins away from the Kroc Center up here in Coeur d'Alene! I used to have those small trays! Great video Heyman!
Cool video. The site of the original McDonalds Bros restaurant is a historic monument in San Bernardino at the corner of 'E' street and 14th street. The original building (like you show in this video) was torn down years ago and a more 'standard' looking building and museum was put up in its place. It has an old, original 'monument' sign out in front of it. I lived out there a few years in the 1960s in my youth and we used to go to that location once in a while when it was an active restaurant. Fun fact #1: McDonalds was the last major fast-food restaurant chain to install drive thru's as they wanted customers to come inside for the full 'customer service experience'. That 'customer service experience' has changed quite a bit at all fast food places, hasn't it? Fun Fact #2: I've got relatives in Europe that come over to visit and that Downey McD's is one place they like to stop and see.
@@crosslink1493 McDonald's is all about the full customer "Self Srev Kiosks" now a days...lol. there were asian tourist there when i was there. I've been to that museum in San Bernardino too
Cool video, I drive by this place everyday going to work. Adam did a video here , too, leaving one of his stickers. Years ago. 🤔wonder if it’s still there…
Dam man. Cool beans ! Hitting up all the cool spots in Southern Cali ! I went to that Mcdonalds not too long ago when everyone was wearing masks. They had a cool McDonalds Museum built into the seating area. And then theres a dollar store a couple feet away from it around the corner.
Been their many times Also on Rosecrans n Downey Ave..by paramount high if it's still there.. All my family lived in Downey as Karen Carpenter. Was once a high $$$ town but we'll see. Stonewood shopping center also. Enjoy.
@HEYMANWITHJAYMAN I remember some people in Downey who wanted it torn down because it was an eyesore. I'm sure it was some of the snobby people in North Downey in the million dollar homes. All I thought was that McDonald's was there long before your house, and if you didn't like it, why did you build in Downey.
For 1$ in the 60's you could get Burger 🍔 Fries 🍟 Soda 🥤 50¢ total... and the Downey Meralta movie for another 50¢ and get 2 movies. Yup..all for a Buck 1$... Those were the days ✌️
