Really beautiful beach and great finds Congratulations!🎉 It would be great to see more videos from there! You could use a rock polisher, soap and quartz to remove the crustacean! 🍀
Great to see you Gin! The Bahamas are so beautiful, you looked comfortable, like you were home. The beach is a fun spot to hunt and you just never know what you’re going to find, a square coin or a giant bolt! Any way you look at it, you’re outdoors soaking up the sun and playing in the sand! Thanks for taking me along 🤗

What a beautiful and peaceful place to treasure hunt. The sound of the waves and your voice was calming. I was waiting for the excited yell, doubloon! Maybe next time.
It was incredibly beautiful - I really enjoyed it. It was one of the hottest and most humid places I’ve ever hunted though.🥵 I was hoping for that doubloon too!🍀
Indeed it has been a gloomy January, my friend. I know everybody is snowed in, so I’m bringing the sunshine and beach to you. I hope you are doing well - it’s always a delight to see you pop in.🙂🍀
I love your digs. As for cleaning your finds you can use a cheep rock tumbler from harbor freight and some Lemi shine from the dish washer soap area at your local store, we also use stainless steel pins in with the stuff to be cleaned. This works really well on everything but zinc penny's the have damage. Some will take 10 minutes some will take an hour or more depending on what you want the final product to look like. Hope that help you. Keep finding the treasures.
Thank you - it may be a few videos before I know. Most of my equipment is in storage, and it looks like it’s going to require an ultrasonic or tumbler to get to the bottom of those encrusted coins.
Welcome back and good to see you again. It’s been way too cold here to be detecting, will have to wait another month or two before I can. I guess I’m gonna have to tag along with you on your adventures.
Thank you! It’s definitely been too cold lately - that’s why I headed south for the beaches. I’m glad to have you tag along - fingers crossed we find gold!😉🙌🍀
Nice to see your back it’s been a while. Glad to see you are OK. Great video sand looked real soft were any of them quarters silver 1964 and below can’t wait for the next video.
Thank you - it’s good to be back and finally hunting again.🙂 Unfortunately I didn’t have any silver, unless one of those heavily encrusted coins turns out to be silver. I kinda think the one with black encrusting might be.🤞🍀
Wonderful to walk on the beach with you and do some hunting! Was nice to experience some sun and waves instead of the rain, snow, and clouds here in Wisconsin. Salt and white vinegar seem to be the best way to get the coins cleaned up. After they are all clean, be sure to soak them in distilled water. Otherwise, all that work was for not. Thanks for the hunt, and I look forward to the next one! 🏝
Thanks so much for popping by and sharing your tip. I’d never heard anyone mention putting coins in distilled water after the vinegar, so I appreciate you mentioning it. I’d tried vinegar on some of these but didn’t get much result.
Wonderful video. Glad you got to enjoy hunting and also vacationing in a beautiful place. It’s was cool to see you create a new way to dig with shoveling under the pin pointer and bringing both up! I think the pin pointer needs a name like the magnifying glass, Sherlock, does!

Fun Bahamas hunt. Looks like a great place for that. I have heard a range of stories about hunting there from being illegal to needing a permit to losing gear for hunting. Did you get special permission? You're wearing a wrist band, so wondering... Glad to see you back on the dig. Cheers!
@@LuckyGin Thanks for the follow up. There are a bunch of places that would be awesome to hunt but just not accessible (or technically legal). Good to know that there are some exceptions. And yes, doing the research up front is necessary wherever you want to hunt, these days.
Such a great video from the Bahamas. I know the Gigmaster on TH-cam uses electrolysis and a rock tumbler to clean stuff such as coins. He also has a travel scoop from Extreme Scoops that has a 3 part handle that he uses when he goes on cruises. He has videos on both.
Didn't know you could take your gear on flights? Do you have a special hard side case or something to carry on the hop over to the islands? Ever thought about going to Alaska to do some gold detecting there? (Watch out for bears!)
Good Day Gin. Does the sand affect the keypads on the big metal detector. I’ve been here in Ohio hitting 1800s lots by my house. I want to take it to the beach for a nice vacation and try it. Great vids. Keep it up
You make metal detecting look so good I just want to buy a plane ticket and go. What settings are You using on the Deus 2? Great idea using a toth brush to clean off the sand.
sometimes hitting coin with hammer breaks crusty off. how many square feet do you estimate you detected? great going two rings! lucky skunk getting detect bahamas area of beach.
I was definitely tempted to wack a couple of these with a hammer! I’m not sure how much I detected, but I usually cover miles when I hunt. I rarely ever hunt less than 8 hours when I go out. I’d love to hunt this beach again.🙂
Hey Gin., I live in South Florida, and have been considering taking a cruise out to the Bahamas to metal detect. What permits did you have to get from the Bahamian government to do that and if you were on a cruise which cruise line did you use and did they give you any hassles about having a metal detector on board? Good video. Thanks. 👍
Great finds! Without seeing the coin, the one with the crown and 3 on it sounds like a British 3 pence. Depending on how old it is, it is either silver or copper/nickel.

Fun Bahamas hunt. Looks like a great place for that. I have heard a range of stories about hunting there from being illegal to needing a permit to losing gear for hunting. Did you get special permission? You're wearing a wrist band, so wondering... Glad to see you back on the dig. Cheers!
I’m on a private resort, that’s why the wristband. I did a bunch of research before going, and it’s permitted to hunt there.🙂
@@LuckyGin Thanks for the follow up. There are a bunch of places that would be awesome to hunt but just not accessible (or technically legal). Good to know that there are some exceptions. And yes, doing the research up front is necessary wherever you want to hunt, these days.
Great hunt on the beach, so beautiful, cheers.
Thank you.🙂🍀
C L R might clean it off, calcium ,lime rust remover, thanks for letting us tag along to the islands!
Thanks for joining me!🙌🍀
Such a great video from the Bahamas. I know the Gigmaster on TH-cam uses electrolysis and a rock tumbler to clean stuff such as coins. He also has a travel scoop from Extreme Scoops that has a 3 part handle that he uses when he goes on cruises. He has videos on both.
I’ll check out that travel scoop, because I was REALLY wishing I’d brought my scoop. Totally regret leaving it behind.
You have some amazing treasures.
Best video yet Gin!
Didn't know you could take your gear on flights? Do you have a special hard side case or something to carry on the hop over to the islands? Ever thought about going to Alaska to do some gold detecting there? (Watch out for bears!)
Fantastic channel. Subscribed ❤❤
Thank you, and welcome!🙌🙂🍀
Good Day Gin. Does the sand affect the keypads on the big metal detector. I’ve been here in Ohio hitting 1800s lots by my house. I want to take it to the beach for a nice vacation and try it. Great vids. Keep it up
You make metal detecting look so good I just want to buy a plane ticket and go. What settings are You using on the Deus 2? Great idea using a toth brush to clean off the sand.
Just the beach setting, along with XY axis.
Key falow another key i like to see You digging the sand and fing the treasures.
Happy to see you! I kept wondering what happened to you. Happy hunting 🎉
I’m finally back on the road again. Ready to put last year in the rear view and get this one going!
Wave zone???
sometimes hitting coin with hammer breaks crusty off. how many square feet do you estimate you detected? great going two rings! lucky skunk getting detect bahamas area of beach.
I was definitely tempted to wack a couple of these with a hammer! I’m not sure how much I detected, but I usually cover miles when I hunt. I rarely ever hunt less than 8 hours when I go out. I’d love to hunt this beach again.🙂
Is the plastic scoop mandatory there or are you just traveling lite 😊
Hey Gin., I live in South Florida, and have been considering taking a cruise out to the Bahamas to metal detect. What permits did you have to get from the Bahamian government to do that and if you were on a cruise which cruise line did you use and did they give you any hassles about having a metal detector on board? Good video. Thanks. 👍
No permits were required. I flew with my detector.
Great finds! Without seeing the coin, the one with the crown and 3 on it sounds like a British 3 pence. Depending on how old it is, it is either silver or copper/nickel.
Thanks for the info - I’m not familiar with British coins so that’s really helpful to know.🙂🍀
What settings do u use at the beach....please
